Chapter 1596: Chapter 1596: The Doll (Supersized Chapter)

The automaton had a cold, expressionless, seemingly emotionless white cheek.

Just seeing this cheek, an intangible sense of alienation arose spontaneously.

Then in the next mont, the coldness on the automaton’s cheek turned to surprise, followed imdiately by a big, sowhat ingratiating smile, “Big guy, you’re back!”

She put her hands on her hips and shouted, “Look, I made all these bad guys disappear—”

She spoke very fast, like a rapid buzz, even He Ao couldn’t hear clearly if he didn’t listen carefully.

And at the mont her gaze was upon He Ao, He Ao felt his soul tremble slightly.

Then, in an instant, a tal disc flew into the room and landed on the automaton’s head.

The disc unfolded instantly, transforming into a tal box that enclosed the automaton.

He Ao turned off the flashlight’s beam.

Next, surprised shouts ca from outside the door, “Boss, I caught her.”

A gun-wielding rcenary appeared outside the door, accompanied by the strong beam of a flashlight illuminating the room.

The rcenary excitedly walked to the tal box and enthusiastically shouted back, “Boss, I caught her, but she was just muttering sothing—”

Bam—

It seed like sothing heavy was hitting from the inside, making the whole tal box tremble slightly, with a faint bulge appearing on the surface.

The rcenary quickly pressed down on the box, shouting, “Bring another box, she’s too strong!”

He reached out, pressing down on the box while taking out two chanical clamps, seemingly intending to secure the box.

In that mont, he vaguely sensed a broad shadow standing in front of him.

He looked up and saw the burly figure standing before him.

“Soone!” he shouted.

But before he finished speaking, the figure reached out and knocked him unconscious.

Behind him, four or five rcenaries had already rushed over, rifles in hand, sweeping through the room.

The one standing at the back of the rcenaries, seemingly the leader, froze for a mont upon seeing He Ao, then imdiately turned to run.

At that mont, He Ao took a step forward, a folding knife sprung out in his hand, and amidst the splashes of blood between the darkness and the flashlight beams, one figure after another fell to the ground.

He Ao reached out, grabbed the retreating leader’s shoulder, and pulled him back into the room, “Friend, blowing up my house like this and running away isn’t quite right, is it?”

The leader countered by grabbing He Ao, only for He Ao to break his arm, revealing sparkling electric discharge.

D-level chanized body.

He reached out with the other hand again, attempting to strike He Ao, who caught it along the shoulder and twisted until it broke.

Then He Ao lifted his leg, flipping the leader directly to the ground.

He looked at the leader on the ground, “Don’t tell you’re from the Black Wolf Gang too? Your gang seems pretty well-off.”

The smart glasses scanned the person’s identity and displayed [Unregistered Information].

This was He Ao’s first encounter with this situation, but he knew before that the smart glasses could only display personnel info from the 26 towns in the northeast and wanted information, unable to recognize those from other places.

Either this person wasn’t from the 26 towns in the northeast, or he hid his personal information and wasn’t logged as wanted.

He Ao gazed at his face.

For advanced prosthetics, changing one’s appearance is easy, just swap out a faceplate.

Under He Ao’s gaze, the leader seed to realize sothing and rasped, “Loren, don’t waste your efforts, I know you’re strong, but you can’t get any information from .”

He knew sothing about He Ao, he knew He Ao was very strong, not soone he could defeat.

“Is that so?!” He Ao placed one foot on his chest, squatted down, and gazed at his face, “Tell , who are you, who sent you, whom do you work for, what is your purpose?!”

“I told you, you can’t get anything from !” the leader gazed at He Ao.

Imdiately, in that instant, his face contorted with ferocity, “I will watch your death, and resurrect in the eternal new world!”

As soon as he finished speaking, the light within him suddenly concentrated, he was attempting to detonate the energy core, taking He Ao with him.

Bam—Zzz—

He Ao reached out directly, piercing through his breastplate, and amidst the dazzling electric light, drew out the energy core from his chest and tossed it aside.

The light in his body dimd at that mont.

He stared wide-eyed at He Ao.

But He Ao only shrugged, “You’re a bit slow.”

“I will, watch your, death,” he said, gazing at He Ao, his breath rapidly weakening, “Loren, you are dood.”

He Ao reached out and saw only dense red lights flashing in his pupils, which were anomalies in warning alerts.

His breathing completely ceased, and his soul also dispersed at this mont, completely dead.

Not because of insufficient energy supply, the chanized body had a backup energy source still active.

A completely unforeseen suicide thod, like sothing derived from a Transcendent prop, but without a discernible surge of Extraordinary power.

Anomaly?

He Ao frowned slightly, releasing his foot.

Despite his bold claims, the guy hadn’t undergone anti-mind reading training; the little ntal resistance he had was shattered after witnessing He Ao forcibly tearing off his arm.

So the mont He Ao questioned him, he had already ‘told’ He Ao the answer through his thoughts.

This guy was different from the rcenary He Ao t at the Radiant Building, not a true professional rcenary, but a ‘mber’ of the Abnormal Sect.

He received the ‘order’ from a ‘Deacon’ within the sect to co here in search of the ‘porcelain automaton’.

However, his mory regarding the sect’s deacon was sowhat fuzzy, likely influenced by so anomaly, but he was sure he didn’t accept the task via anonymous ans like the rcenary; rather, he received it through a ‘eting’.

Moreover, the eting location was in Xiluo City.

So, the ‘Deacon’ of the Abnormal Sect was in Xiluo City.

And from the leader’s thoughts, the ‘porcelain automaton’ seed fairly important to their sect.

Dong—Dong——

A booming sound ca from the tal box beside him.

Of course, ‘Loren’ was quite important too.

They seed to have received so order to kill ‘Loren’ if possible.

Apparently, ‘he’ was indeed so key figure.

He Ao stood up and reached out to the tal box beside him.

At that mont, a series of rapid footsteps echoed from outside the door.

A young figure dashed to the door, panting under the dim corridor lights, pointing a gun into the room, “Don’t move, Abnormal Investigation Association, you are surrounded.”

Then she turned on the flashlight on her combat suit, and upon seeing the vague silhouette of He Ao in the darkness, her eyes widened slightly, “Loren?”

“Good evening,” He Ao shrugged and nudged the completely dead team leader at his feet, “You seem to be late.”

“Seems like it…” Lily lowered her gun, glanced at the bodies in the room, and her gaze fell on the energy core that had been forcibly ripped out.

“Big guy, I’m out now!”

Just then, the tal box beside He Ao was flipped open, crashing onto the remnants of a dining table, and a porcelain doll in a red dress crawled out in an instant.

This startled Lily, who had just lowered her gun, and she raised it again, aiming at the box.

As she laid eyes on the doll in the red dress, she instinctively took half a step back, twisted her head away from the doll, and gaped at He Ao.

“Big guy, see how aweso I am.” At this mont, the red-dressed doll had climbed onto the tal box, stood on tiptoe, and put her hands on her hips, surveying the ruined surroundings with an air of superiority.

Then she slipped and fell off the tal box.

Bang—

With a crisp sound, she shattered into pieces of porcelain on the ground.

Hearing this sound, Lily hesitated for a mont but eventually turned her head to look in the direction of the noise.

When she saw the fragnts of porcelain scattered across the floor, her face went blank.

He Ao was also puzzled, gazing at those scattered porcelain pieces.

And in the instant they were both watching, the pieces suddenly flew up and restored themselves into the form of Sui.

Sui widened her eyes, looked at He Ao, patted her dress, and said as if nothing had happened, “Just a little technical adjustnt, no big deal, don’t worry.”

And from this angle, He Ao’s eyes t Sui’s.

Vaguely, he felt a certain power tugging at his soul.

At that mont, Sui seed to realize sothing and quickly averted her gaze, “Big guy, I can’t control this, I didn’t an it.”

This ability seems similar to the ‘attraction’ ability of the red-dressed doll.

He Ao chuckled, pondering, “Maybe you can try to control it.”

“Huh?” Sui was slightly taken aback, “But I don’t know how it’s done; whenever I glare at soone, they just disappear.”

“How about using your innate abilities?” He Ao mused, “Like ‘restoration,’ just like you restored your hair, can you still use that ability?”

“I’ll try.” Sui hesitated for a mont and gently patted her head.

In the next mont, her disheveled hair restored itself into a tidy brown ponytail.

“Good,” He Ao continued to guide, “now try controlling your whole body?”

He turned his body to make eye contact with Sui proactively.

Sui also lifted her head and looked at him.

The soul-tugging feeling appeared again.

And then, in the next instant, the feeling cald instantly.

Sui widened her eyes at He Ao, then excitedly circled around him, “Big guy, I did it!!!”

As she spoke, she jumped back onto the tal box, and her foot slipped.

This ti, He Ao, who was prepared, promptly reached out to catch her, asking, “How did you do it? Can you grasp the principles?”

“It’s just, just,” Sui wobbled her limbs in the air and then pondered, “when I looked at you, it seed like this body underwent so kind of change, like sothing was propelling it.”

“Like a progress bar?” He Ao pondered as he placed her back on the ground.

“Yeah, like a progress bar,” Sui nodded quickly, “then I just ‘restored’ it, continuously keeping it at the very beginning, keeping the progress bar from starting!”

“Can you still release this ability?” He Ao continued to ask.

“Of course, as long as I abandon ‘restoration,'” Sui nodded, looking at He Ao.

At that mont, He Ao only felt his soul being teased again, but it quickly cald down.

The figure before him put her hands on her hips, “Aren’t I impressive!”

“Impressive, impressive.” He Ao nodded, laughing.

At this ti, Lily finally reacted, looking at He Ao, “This, this, this—”

“et Sui,” He Ao motioned to the doll girl beside him, speaking gently, “Sui, this is Lily; she’s with an official departnt.”

“Hello! Lily!” Sui also turned her head to look at Lily, smiling and waving.

Her speech was so rapid that Lily barely caught it, but she sensed a greeting towards her, so she raised her hand to respond, “Hello.”

anwhile, Sui was already trying to climb onto the tal box again.

He Ao extended a hand to lift her, moving the other hand to adjust the tal box until it was level, then placed her on it.

Lily’s gaze didn’t linger on Sui; instead, she quickly turned to He Ao, speaking nervously, “Is this the abnormal doll, is it alive?”

“Not entirely,” He Ao glanced at Sui and pondered for a mont before continuing, “the one alive is not the doll; it’s my ‘roommate’ who’s inside, she’s currently controlling the doll.”

“Roommate?!” Lily was slightly taken aback.

“Roommate!!” Sui excitedly patted her chest.

“The details are quite complex, more information to co later,” He Ao looked at Lily, smiling, “But for now, know that Sui is very kind and easy to get along with.”

Lily looked at He Ao, then at Sui, realizing He Ao seed reluctant to discuss details in front of Sui. She nodded lightly, “Alright.”

She turned to glance at the corridor behind her, waved her hand, and quickly said, “Things are settled here. Ti to clean up.”

With gentle footsteps, a group of staff wearing Abnormal Association uniforms erged from the corridor outside, surrounding the area.

Lily whispered a few words to the leading staff mbers, and they swiftly began collecting the scattered bodies and firearms.

Lily took a deep breath and entered the room, looking at the rcenary leader’s corpse lying by the door, asking softly, “Was this person the leader? Did you kill him?”

“He intended to detonate the energy core and die with ,” He Ao also glanced at the corpse, “I had no choice but to strike first.”

“In such a short ti, you extracted his energy core?” Lily’s eyes widened instantly.

“When you put it like that, it was a bit challenging.” He Ao nodded slightly.

“A bit challenging?” Lily’s eyes grew as wide as saucers.

“It was a bit challenging,” He Ao gazed at the body on the ground, speaking softly, “However, technically speaking, he wasn’t killed by , but committed suicide, muttering sothing about a ‘new world,’ and then died instantly as if he suddenly ran out of air, and his last words sounded like so kind of cult slogan.”

“The Divine Wine,” hearing this, Lily contained her surprise and spoke with a heavy voice, “It’s the Abnormal Sect.”
