Chapter 1597: Chapter 1597: Sacred Wine

“Divine Wine?” He Ao looked at Lily.

“It’s also an Abnormal entity brought out from an Abnormal space,” Lily explained softly, looking at He Ao, “Currently, we don’t have detailed information on it. But it may be a Level 2 Abnormal.

The ability we know so far is that anyone who drinks the Divine Wine will form a connection with it. No matter where they are, with just a thought, they would die completely, and their soul would be fused with the Divine Wine.”

“A suicide Divine Artifact?” He Ao was slightly stunned, “Abnormals can have such varied uses.”

“Sothing like that,” Lily nodded slightly, “The abilities and effects of Abnormals are extrely diverse; if you spend ti developing them, you’re sure to find so that are useful.”

“So this ‘Divine Wine’ is controlled by the ‘Abnormal Sect’ you ntioned earlier?” He Ao asked.

“Yes,” Lily nodded again, “‘The Abnormal Sect’ is a hidden organization that worships Abnormals,”

Lily said softly, “They claim that the ergence of Abnormals is a herald of the world’s destruction, a precursor of the Old God destroying the world. Only those who worship Abnormals and align with them can be reborn after the world’s destruction and beco rulers of the new world.”

She glanced at the corpse on the ground, “This guy was able to drink the Divine Wine, so he’s probably an official mber of the sect. These extre lunatics believe that death is rely a ‘return,’ and having one’s soul swallowed by the Divine Wine is a ans of returning in the new world and have a tendency toward suicidal madness.”

“Classic lines,” He Ao nodded, “Most cults online use lines like these.”

“Abnormals evoke fear, and worship is the other side of fear,” Lily sighed softly, “That’s the first sentence in our orientation materials on the ‘Abnormal Sect.'”

“So this Abnormal Sect is an organization you’ve been confronting?” He Ao asked thoughtfully.

“Pretty much,” Lily nodded, “Our goal is to control Abnormals, maintain their stability, and put them in a ‘sleep’ state as much as possible. Their goal is to activate Abnormals as much as possible,

The Abnormal Sect believes the more active Abnormals are, the sooner the World Apocalypse will co, and the happier the Old God will be.”

“I also encountered an Abnormal item over at Radiant Building,” He Ao said, “The Abnormal Sect seems to have quite a few Abnormal items under their control?”

The rcenary leader’s psychological defenses were limited, but He Ao could vaguely sense that the ‘Bound Scarecrow’ also ca from the Abnormal Sect.

“So of them,” Lily thought aloud, “The Abnormal Sect has existed for about as long as the association. Even though the association has conducted several large-scale eradications, they always manage to rise from the ashes.

Moreover, because they don’t care about their subordinates’ lives, the sect mbers more actively explore Abnormals than our association does.

Over the years, they’ve accumulated quite a few Abnormals, and they probably also have plenty of material on Abnormals,”

Lily pondered, “So within the association speculate that their core mbers have even mastered a thod to ‘create’ Abnormals.”

“A thod to create Abnormals?” He Ao was slightly startled.

“The specifics are unclear,” Lily shook her head, “But so Abnormals have appeared rather ‘abruptly’ and are strongly linked to the Abnormal Sect. These Abnormals are often bloody and terrifying, extrely dangerous.”

Hearing this, He Ao instead asked, “Doesn’t your association have a similar thod? Isn’t your association older and stronger, with presumably deeper research on Abnormals?”

This question left Lily slightly confused, and she answered uncertainly, “It doesn’t seem like we do?”

Then she shook her head, “I don’t know; maybe the council knows.”

Looking at He Ao, she continued, “However, since this incident is related to the Abnormal Sect, you need to be more careful. They might have set their sights on you, and anyone they’ve targeted is in great danger.”

“The organizations I target are also dangerous,” He Ao shrugged.

Lily instinctively wanted to retort, but she glanced at the scattered corpses on the ground and the extracted energy core. She paused, speaking softly, “This might be just the first wave. In any case, be careful.”

Then she raised her wristband to glance at it, seemingly receiving so information, “I will inform Captain Reid of this ssage. He is currently collaborating with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the City Police Bureau to conduct a citywide manhunt.”

The staff nearby had already co over to remove the corpse of the rcenary leader in front of the two of them, transporting it outside.

This was the last corpse.

And Lily also glanced around at the darkness and ruins, speaking softly, “Do you need to find another place to stay tonight? This place might be uninhabitable for a while? Shall we contact the apartnt managent for you?”

“No need,” He Ao shook his head, “This house is quite good.”

He turned his gaze towards Sui, who was playing alone with the rubble, “Sui, can you reset the whole house?”

“Huh?” Sitting nearby, stacking small rubble into a little mountain, Sui raised her head, looked at He Ao blankly, “What?”

Then she seed to catch on, “Reset the house?”

She raised her head, looking at the collapsed walls, destroyed furniture, and the dark house under extinguished lights, seemingly lost in thought.

Then she raised her hand and gently clapped her small hands, “Restore!”

The darkness felt a bit silent, as if nothing had happened.

Lily looked up blankly, looking at He Ao.

Buzz——Buzz——

At this mont, the light hanging from the ceiling made a slight noise.

The flickering light illuminated the entire house. Soon after, the light beca brighter, and the flickering frequency rapidly decreased. Quickly, the entire light stabilized.

Like the first ray of light cracking open the darkness of creation, the bright glow shone upon the damaged house.

Next, under everyone’s gaze, the already twisted and broken dining table straightened up, shattered stones flew into the air, the half-collapsed ceiling returned to its place, and the fallen walls automatically reassembled.

Everything seed to rewind through ti, as staff and Lily stared in astonishnt. In an instant, the whole room returned to its original state, and even the bloodstains on the floor disappeared.

The whole house was clean and tidy, without a speck of dust.

He Ao turned his gaze away, and the bag of fried chicken he left on the stove was still there when he left.

This place doesn’t erase household goods and food; the fried chicken was probably covered underneath the ceiling, barely escaping.

Lily widened her eyes and looked at everything around her, “Abnormal X3-297: Unchanging House.”

It was only at this mont that she seed to truly comprehend the term ‘Unchanging House.’

“You’re right not to leave,” she lowered her head, looking at He Ao.

She felt a bit numb, the number of shocks to her cognition tonight exceeded those of the past year.

She paused for a mont, looking at He Ao, “Then I’ll leave first, if there’s anything, contact us imdiately.”

“Okay.” He Ao nodded slightly, “By the way.”

With Lily turning around to leave, He Ao raised his hand and called her.

Then, under Lily’s puzzled gaze, he pointed to the corpse of the rcenary leader outside the door, “That guy seems to have no reward information.”

Seeing Lily’s still confused gaze, He Ao further explained, “He might have hidden his identity, if you verify it and there is any reward, rember to settle it for .”

“Okay!” Lily reacted, nodding quickly, “I’ll check it for you,”

Then she paused, “Do those other rcenaries need checking too?”

“Those rcenaries all have identity information, they’ve already been settled,” He Ao shook his head, smiling, “No need.”

“Alright.” Lily nodded, then glanced around, “Then I’m leaving?”

“Bye-bye.” He Ao waved farewell.

Realizing that He Ao indeed had no other issues, Lily breathed a sigh of relief, she waved her hand and led the surrounding staff out of the room.

Watching Lily leave, He Ao went to the stove and opened the bag of fried chicken.

The fried chicken inside was individually wrapped, and the bag was sealed, with no dust settling.

Seems like luck really is on his side.

He Ao took the fried chicken to the old air fryer nearby, opened it, unwrapped the fried chicken, and poured it into the fryer.

To heat fried chicken, He Ao usually uses an air fryer.

Microwave evaporates moisture, heating makes it very dry, while steaming makes it very moist, both affecting the taste.

Only air frying makes the outside crispy and the inside tender, restoring the original taste of fried chicken to the greatest extent.

Set the temperature to 180 degrees, ti to 6 minutes.

Different air fryers have different tis, requiring adjustnts and trials; Loren’s at ho has quite strong heat, usually just a few minutes.

He Ao turned around, looking behind.

Then he saw Sui climbing onto the dining table, then back facing the ground, directly falling backwards.

Pop—

Accompanied by a crisp sound, porcelain shards scattered everywhere.

Then in an instant, these shards reassembled into the shape of a little girl in a red dress.

“Hey hey,” Sui turned her head, looking at He Ao, waving while jumping up, trying to attract his attention, “Big guy, big guy, look, this is so fun!”

As she spoke, she had already jumped up again, clutching the edge of the chair to climb onto it, then grabbing the table edge to climb onto the dining table.

He Ao watched her movents, shaking his head slightly.

Sui was already quite lively and excitable, now entering the doll seems to have heightened her excitent, probably due to the novelty.

He slowly moved forward, heading to the door that hadn’t been closed.

His hand on the doorknob, he was ready to close the door.

At that mont, he noticed the scattered glass shards in the hallway outside.

Those glasses were thick and had a dark tint.

He Ao recalled that before the ‘restoration,’ these glass shards were also on the ground; presumably remnants of the box he brought back to store the doll.

After the restoration, these shards were completely erased.

And the box the rcenary used to attack Sui was taken away by Lily’s people.

He Ao gazed at those glass shards, simulating the scenario of the glass box shattering in his mind.

He turned his head to look at Sui, already climbing back onto the dining table, “Sui, did the glass box for the doll break?”
