"You two done chatting?" Sianna looked at the two approaching, smiling.

He Ao raised his head, looked at Sianna, and said softly, "Thank you."

"He’s always had good luck," Sianna knew this was to thank her for saving Gemu. She shook her head and smiled, "I’m not always wandering in the gutter."

He Ao glanced at Gemu, who looked a bit awkward, "See, now it’s your turn to be picked up from the gutter."

Though He Ao knew that Sianna had probably noticed Gemu as soon as he entered the building, otherwise how else would she have found him at the most critical mont and saved him.

A bit later, and Gemu wouldn’t have recovered so well.

"Brat." Gemu muttered and then took a step forward to stand next to Sianna.

"Go quickly," He Ao looked at the two of them and lightly laughed, "The airship is about to take off."

Gemu looked at He Ao, paused briefly, and said slowly, "Take care of yourself and don’t try to be a hero."

As he spoke, his gaze fell on the ’K’ pendant hanging around He Ao’s neck, and he chuckled softly, "You finally put this thing on. It looks nice. Stuff related to ’K’ is pretty trendy out there. It’s said that it blesses ordinary people, I hope it brings you good luck."

"Let’s hope so," He Ao shrugged, "You’re starting to sound like a nagging old woman."

He took a few steps back and waved his hand, "Goodbye."

"Goodbye." Gemu and Sianna exchanged a glance and turned around, walking towards the plane entrance.

He Ao quietly watched their backs as they left.

As they neared the security checkpoint, Sianna suddenly raised her arm, signaling Gemu to hold onto her.

Gemu looked at her, confused.

"We’re ’married’," Sianna said slowly.

"Oh, okay." Gemu awkwardly reached out and linked his arm with Sianna’s.

Then he glanced down at his slightly la leg, paused in silence, instinctively trying to withdraw his hand, but Sianna gently held it.

He looked at Sianna in confusion.

"Hold the posture, don’t break character," Sianna said calmly.

So he continued to hold Sianna, but still occasionally glanced at his la leg, trying hard to adjust his posture.

The two moved forward slowly, and Sianna lowered her head, whispering softly, "I don’t mind."

Gemu was slightly startled, dumbfounded on the spot.

Their movents stiffened.

He Ao stood in the dim light of the underground parking lot, a faint smile on his lips, watching the two leave.

So squirming flesh beneath his skin settled, and the ’restoration’ power entwined around him was largely exhausted at this mont. He had used the power of Super mory to place a ’mark’ on Gemu.

Only when they completely disappeared from view did he withdraw his gaze, turn around, and walk towards the nearby red car.

As He Ao reached the car, a call ca in.

He Ao answered the call.

"The defensive arrangent I set up at the Maureen Apartnt Building has been breached," Reid’s voice rang in He Ao’s ear without any pause, "They have another team, probably not many, but it’s a whole elite squad. They should still take so ti to reach your house. I’m currently being held up by the people from Radiant Building, and can’t make it over."

"To lure the tiger away from the mountain?" He Ao raised an eyebrow and opened the car door, "I’m not far from ho. I’ll head back right away."

"Ah—" The ponytailed girl sitting at the table straightened up, stretching comfortably, "Haven’t slept this well in ages."

She turned to glance at the night scene outside the window, "Is it already dark? Have I been sleeping that long?"

At this mont, she seed to rember sothing, her gaze fell, "The big guy isn’t back yet?"

She looked away and then suddenly paused.

She stood up, looked at the glass box on the table, "What is this? When did it get here?"

Her gaze landed on a note stuck to the glass box. She reached out, peeled off the note.

It read a simple ssage,

[Help protect this puppet, don’t let anyone else take it, rember, it’s best not to touch it, and don’t look at its cheeks. It’s very dangerous.]

"It’s a puppet?"

The girl drowsily lowered her head, looking at the doll in a red dress hugging her knees inside the glass box.

She looked at the note in her hand, "Did the big guy leave this?"

Just then, she seed to ’sense’ sothing.

"What do you an?" she said, looking down at the puppet, "You don’t want to stay in there? I can’t let you out."

She moved forward, lowered her head, and looked into the glass box at the doll dressed in the red outfit.

Vaguely, she saw the faint facial features and cheeks of the puppet, "Why can’t I look at her face?"

She squatted slightly, then stood up and stretched, "Hehe, I won’t look, I’m not stupid."

As soon as her words fell, she saw the locked puppet in the box slowly raise its head and ’look’ at her.

"Ah?"

The next mont, her body shook.

······

In the hallway outside

Dim lights illuminated the narrow corridor as a fully ard team of rcenaries erged from the end of the hall, stopping before a closed door.

The leading rcenary raised his head, glanced at the number 1251 on the door, and stepped aside.

A rcenary behind him imdiately stepped forward, sticking a mini explosive to the door.

The soldiers quickly moved aside as the rcenary with the explosive pressed the button in his hand.

Boom—

With a loud explosion and smoke, the door was blasted open.

The leading rcenary imdiately brandished his gun, turning around and charging through the blasted door.

And now, through the dense smoke, a glass box on the dining table appeared in everyone’s view.

In this glass box, a girl puppet in a red dress with brown ponytails and porcelain-like skin stood inside.

At this mont, the glass box was already about halfway off the edge of the dining table.

Perhaps due to the soundproof quality of the glass box, the girl inside didn’t seem to hear the recent explosion. She stood inside, jumped, and crashed into the edge of the overhanging side of the glass box.

Bam—

With the crisp sound of the vibrating glass box, the balance was completely overturned. The glass box stretched out past the edge of the table and quickly slid off.

The doll in the red dress was excitedly waving inside the box. Then she turned around and saw the rcenary squad standing at the door.

The next instant, the glass box flipped and fell to the ground.

Thud—

With a muffled sound, the red-dressed doll also flipped and fell to the floor.

Bam—

Her body shattered to pieces the mont it hit the ground, breaking into ceramic fragnts of various sizes.

The scattered pieces lay there motionless.

The rcenary standing at the door stared at the scene in shock.

The leading rcenary raised the monitor on his arm, which displayed a photo of a transparent, long-haired doll in a red dress.

Then he looked up at the broken doll on the ground.

The hair color wasn’t right, and the body size was off, but other aspects seed sowhat similar.

He raised his head and winked at a fellow rcenary beside him.

That rcenary imdiately moved forward, reaching for the handle of the glass case.

Bam—

At that instant, the ceramic shards in the entire glass case flickered briefly, and the scattered pieces rapidly reassembled into a complete ceramic doll.

Once again, all the rcenaries widened their eyes in astonishnt.

The ceramic doll also lifted its head and looked at the rcenaries standing at the door, its mouth opening and closing as if speaking loudly.

But the rcenaries standing at the door couldn’t hear a sound.

"Boss, she’s asking why we broke into her ho." A rcenary with a flickering light in his pupils turned his head to look at the leader beside him.

"Her ho? She’s not our target?" On hearing this, the leader was montarily stunned, then compared the photo on his arm screen again, "According to our information, the target is not easily destructible."

He looked again at the photo and the doll. On closer inspection, it indeed looked quite different.

"This room itself is a level three abnormality without much threat, and this doll seems to be so kind of anomalous product; see if we can deal with her," the leader said quickly with his head lowered, "Let’s clear the room of threats first and then we’ll look for the remaining items later."

He raised his head and looked at the doll trapped inside the glass case.

At this mont, the doll had already stood up, continuously jumping inside the glass case, with its head lowered, crashing against the glass box towards the rcenaries outside.

"Shoot." The rcenary leader quickly ordered.

Bam Bam Bam—

Intense gunfire suddenly erupted.

The bullets hit the enclosed glass case like popcorn, leaving tiny marks on it, then quickly rebounding.

anwhile, the glass case, under the impact of the doll inside, drew very close to them.

"Boss, this glass case is bulletproof." A rcenary shouted loudly.

"Withdraw, use explosives," the leader rcenary imdiately commanded.

As he spoke, the team of rcenaries imdiately retreated and regrouped with those who had been standing outside.

Two rcenaries each pulled out two black rubber bombs from their pockets, rushed forward, and stuck them onto the incoming glass case.

At that instant, one rcenary glanced into the eyes of the doll, losing focus for a mont.

Then, with a ’bam—’ sound, the doll slamd into the case, pushing it forward and knocking him down too.

His companion pulled him up and dragged him out the door.

The two leaned against the wall outside, exchanged a glance with the surrounding rcenaries, and pressed the detonation button simultaneously.

Boom—

Accompanied by a violent noise and the trembling of the walls, thick smoke and destructive roars caused everyone to pause.

The lights in the room went out completely.

As the smoke slightly cleared, the nearest two rcenaries turned on the ergency flashlights on their helts, turning to look inside.

The powerful flashlight’s beam pierced through the smoke, illuminating the room partially collapsed on one side.

The shattered glass case, along with the equally broken ceramic fragnts, reflected a faint light under the illumination.

Within this darkness, an unusual and eerie sense of tranquility was accentuated.

This ti the ceramic was much more cracked than before, leaving only the red dress on the ground and countless unrecognizable ceramic shards.

The two rcenaries exchanged a glance, and the one on the left was about to raise his hand to signal outside.

Crack—

A crisp sound echoed in the quiet room.

The countless ceramic shards instantly converged, forming into a red-dressed doll about fifty centiters tall with a brown ponytail.

The doll tugged at her cheek with her hand, and the smooth, jade-like ceramic skin surprisingly showed the texture of flesh, lifting lightly under the doll’s touch.

"Haha, I’m finally out!" The doll excitedly jumped, then looked up at the two standing rcenaries, "You guys are so tall!"

She glanced around, patting her cheeks, "No, it’s because I’ve beco a tiny person."

She looked down at her red dress, recalling what had just happened.

She had been absorbed into the doll’s body, becoming the doll.

She intended to smash the case hoping it would break and maybe she would revert back, but obviously, her plan failed.

"It’s over," the red-dressed doll rubbed her cheeks again, then looked at the surrounding collapsed walls and rubble, raising her eyes to the rcenaries before her, "You’ve blown up my house!!! The big guy will kill when he returns!!!"

Crack—

The response to her was the sound of a gun bolt being drawn and the pitch-black muzzle, "What on earth is the little thing babbling about?"

The doll looked up at the face of the rcenary behind the muzzle, staring into the rcenary’s eyes.

Bam—

The next instant, the black gun fell to the ground, half of the light in the darkness disappearing.

The other rcenary hadn’t reacted, paused for a mont, and turned to look at the spot where his companion was standing monts ago. There was nothing but empty darkness.

He instinctively turned back, looking ahead.

The red-dressed doll’s gaze, at that mont, also returned, eting his direction, catching his eye.

Bam—

Another gun fell to the ground, plunging the entire room into complete darkness.

······

He Ao opened the window from the outside, stepping into a pitch-black room.

He turned on his wristband, activating the flashlight, with the dim glow illuminating a scene of collapsed walls, damaged furniture, and scattered glass shards.

Amidst the shattered tiles and fragnts, guns lay scattered.

He Ao’s face darkened slightly, turning the light swiftly toward the dining table area.

The original dining table had long been blown to pieces, leaving only a twisted tal sheet arching on the ground.

At that mont, a white-skinned red-dressed doll stood upon the iron sheet, brown hair cascading over her shoulders, gazing at the flickering light outside the door.

The flashlight’s faint beam shone on the doll in the red dress amidst the darkness, highlighting her vibrant red against the shadow.

And at that instant, the doll beca aware of the light’s presence.

Buzz—

Accompanied by the rushing sound of the wind, the doll sharply turned around.
