Chapter 1465: Chapter 1465: The Complete Dark Lizard Incident (Extended Chapter)

He Ao’s eyes followed Eve’s rapid page-flipping, quickly scanning the content of this mining statistical analysis.

This mining statistical analysis is quite extensive, with about eighty pages. Although most of it is data and charts, there is no shortage of text.

The first thirty-five pages of the analysis contain normal mining site information and data, and the last thirty-five pages also cover regular mining analysis and information.

Only the middle section, between complex diagrams, contains what appears to be ‘random notes’.

These texts are very fragnted, like diary entries, but not in a fixed diary format. Instead, they resemble so kind of ‘scribbles’ and thoughts, with a disorganized layout, like unedited drafts.

However, the whole report is rather chaotically formatted, so it doesn’t feel out of place.

Maybe it was because of being an informant for the forr mayor of Denno City, Vigina’s brother developed the habit of docunting crucial clues when encountered.

At the sa ti, he also mixed so personal ‘thoughts’ within these clues and recorded them.

He Ao quickly organized these fragnted ‘random notes’ in his mind.

The first section of the ‘random notes’ is quite simple.

Vigina’s brother received an order to participate in the developnt of a new mining site.

This developnt effort lasted many years, and He Ao was already quite familiar with it.

Paxiu’s tribe was noticed and gradually developed by the Kewort Group during this new mining exploration. Vigina’s brother also t Paxiu during that ti.

But unbeknownst to everyone, Vigina’s brother began to suspect the entire ‘developnt campaign’.

‘Although the northern part of Denno City has many high-quality mineral veins, the southern wilderness is desolate. Years of exploration seem like searching for water in the desert, with imnse manpower and resources spent, only to find a few small mines.’

‘Moreover, the group’s aimless ‘exploration’ of the wilderness, sending Wilderness Hunters and Wilderness Wanderers to explore every corner of the wilds, doesn’t seem to be so kind of ‘mining’. It seems more like searching for sothing.’

This note doesn’t show the exact ti, but it should be written during the period when the Kewort Group was frantically exploring the wilderness, possibly around the ti Vigina’s brother first t Paxiu.

The next section jumps in ti, likely written about nine years ago, before the old president was elected.

‘I have a premonition that the group has definitely discovered sothing. The investnt in wilderness exploration has decreased. Those unexplored wilderness areas seem to lose their appeal, and more excavation equipnt is being transported to those small mines on the wilderness’s edge.’

‘They are preparing for sothing in secret. Denno City has received a lot of brochures, and the group is spending massive resources to support the old senator’s campaign. The board seems to be making so special gamble, clearly needing so political approval, and it has to co from the Federal Central.’

‘The group must have discovered sothing, and all changes will probably start with the new president’s inauguration.’

The third segnt of notes follows, and judging by the tiline, it should be when the old president was newly elected.

‘The rcenary Corps has arrived. A large number of managent staff have co, and convoys of engineering machinery even blocked the streets of this small city.’

‘With the election of the president, everything changed. The group couldn’t wait even for the inauguration to start preparations. Mr. Kavent has been especially busy lately. Did they discover so large new mine?’

‘Why don’t I have any information about it here at all?’

The next few notes beco densely packed, seemingly all around the ti of the president’s inauguration.

‘Mr. Kavent is preparing sothing, but he hasn’t told anyone.’

‘I fear so kind of conspiracy is brewing. I must contact the mayor and prepare early.’

······

‘The rcenary Corps is gathering. Everyone senses a tense atmosphere, but no one knows why.’

‘Mr. Kavent says the group is facing so crisis and encourages everyone to rally, but no one knows what the crisis is.’

‘Perhaps the group doesn’t have a crisis at all.’

‘But this city might face a crisis. I should prod the mayor again to make him do sothing.’

······

‘The mayor replied to , saying he had talked with Kavent, and now Denno City is facing so situations but nothing troubleso.’

‘This guy’s tone is that of soone who has received a lot of money, though he’s greedy, he’s not exactly stupid.’

‘Perhaps they really settled everything, and all problems are arranged?’

‘I forgot to ask him if the Wilderness Wanderers would be affected. Paxiu has been running around lately, and there seems to be nothing happening in the wilderness?’

······

‘When delivering docunts to Kavent, outside, I overheard him seemingly on a phone call, and I had never heard him speak in such a respectful tone before. Was it a call from the board? But he wasn’t this respectful even to the board.’

‘For several days, he seed to converse with that person, and it sounded like they weren’t from the board.’

‘During his phone calls, he deliberately avoided us ‘outsiders’.’

······

‘This ti I arrived early and overheard a bit more. Kavent seed to be hoping for help from the person on the call, but their voices were too low to make out.’

‘Went early a few more tis after that but only caught a phrase like ‘for the group’. After that, I didn’t hear them talking on the phone, sotis Kavent wasn’t even in the office.’

‘Sneakily peeked at the docunts on Kavent’s desk; they seed to be preparing so kind of ‘operation plan’?’

‘I should contact the mayor, but that old man received a lot of money, so he’s likely to continue fooling .’

‘However, it’s quite normal for a consortium to deploy a rcenary Corps; there shouldn’t be any problems?’

······

‘The weather is starting to turn cold. There has been more fieldwork recently. t with Paxiu a few tis after he returned, and his tribe’s life is getting better.’

‘Exchanged knowledge about living in the wilderness with Paxiu. Recently, more and more are being assigned to work on the edge of a deep canyon in the wilderness, and the number of people nearby from the group is increasing.’

‘I have a premonition, whatever Kavent wants to ‘deal with’, it’s likely hidden in that bottomless canyon.’

‘This place is far from the city and the Wilderness Wanderer settlents, so there shouldn’t be any problems?’

······

‘That beast!!!’

······

The content that follows involves the events after the Dark Lizard incident.

Vigina’s brother’s ‘random notes’ beca less frequent, scattered among many illustrated reports.

The damage caused by the Dark Lizard far exceeded what Vigina’s brother could endure. He had more or less speculated that the entire event might have been orchestrated by the Kewort Group.

After that, the Kewort Group ‘developed’ a new ‘rare earth mine’, swiftly becoming the backbone of the group.

Although the initial rare earth mine was kept highly confidential, managed by Kavent’s trusted aides, Vigina’s brother still managed, through the routes taken by ‘recruited’ miners, to roughly guess that the mine was located within the canyon.

This further confird his suspicions.

So while he was trying his best to help the suffering Wilderness Wanderers, he was also contacting the Mayor, gathering various traces of when the Kewort Group entered the canyon and affected the Dark Lizard.

The entire plan was not completely foolproof, although the Wilderness Wanderers outside the city were unaware, the high-ranking individuals within the city were more or less aware of sothing.

The executives of the Kewort Group, who sensed that the group might be associated with the Dark Lizard incident, were not limited to just Vigina’s brother.

However, these executives were soon transferred out of Denno City, and Vigina’s brother also received a ‘promotion’ transfer order, which he refused.

After that, Vigina’s brother judged that the Mayor might not be that trustworthy anymore and started considering contacting the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Ains.

Then, these ‘docunts’ mixed in the report abruptly ceased.

He never got the chance to contact the Federal Bureau of Investigation before he ‘had a heart attack’.

After sorting through the docunts left by Vigina’s brother in his mind, He Ao was sowhat silent.

Actually, this matter had nothing to do with Vigina’s brother; he was only a fringe figure in the incident, almost unable to intervene in the progression of events.

He also didn’t have any Extraordinary Ability and hadn’t mingled into the core circle among the executives in Denno City.

But if he had truly been content to be a fringe figure and eventually accepted the Kewort Group’s ‘hush money’, getting promoted to be a regional manager in another city, he might not have beco very wealthy but could have peacefully spent the rest of his life.

But he did not choose this path.

Perhaps it was due to a guilty conscience, or maybe for other reasons.

From Paxiu’s mory, Vigina’s brother was actually quite ‘stubborn’.

Paxiu often felt that he didn’t understand ‘adaptability’ and would bypass him to seek other Kewort Group executives to solve problems.

He was very clear about what he was doing.

Taking a slight breath, He Ao started quickly organizing the valid content from the information left by Vigina’s brother.

Previously, He Ao did not know that the Dark Lizard was driven out by the Kewort Group, so he might still have had to ponder over these records, but now he could basically understand them.

And the information left by Vigina’s brother also provided a bit of a ‘clue’ to a previously puzzling aspect for He Ao.

That is, the ultrasonic audio that could affect the Dark Lizard was developed later, so what did the Kewort Group originally use to ‘drive out’ the sleeping Dark Lizard from the canyon?

Now the Dark Lizard has proven its combat power; even in a perpetually injured state, it still possesses formidable strength.

Even the missiles of the Ains City Defense Army couldn’t even touch it, and Denno City’s Jar City looked like a toy fortress made of sand in front of it.

At the very beginning, when the Dark Lizard had not yet been injured, in its peak state, the weapons and warriors of the Kewort Group rcenary Corps might have been as weak as chickens before it.

rely relying on the Kewort Group’s own strength, it was very difficult to drive out the Dark Lizard.

And now, Vigina’s brother had provided He Ao with a new ‘clue’.

It was Kavent who invited soone to ‘intervene’ and drove the Dark Lizard out.

So this person is very likely an Angel, or soone who can exert Angel-tier combat power.

To deal with an Angel, only an Angel can.

And judging by the strength of the Dark Lizard, to drive it out of its nest during its peak period, this person must be exceptionally strong even among Angels.

Moreover, according to Vigina’s brother’s description, Kavent’s attitude towards this person was more respectful than towards the Kewort Group’s ‘board’.

And Kavent seed to have always been ‘controlled’ by that behind-the-scenes Angel, likely also belonging to that secret organization with black instrunts.

This implies that the person who drove out the Dark Lizard was very likely the behind-the-scenes Angel orchestrating the presidential assassination.

This could also explain why the Dark Lizard has a strong fate association with that behind-the-scenes Angel.

But if that’s the case, why did this Angel help the Kewort Group?

The Kewort Group doesn’t have an Angel, and next door is the Kewort Group’s boardroom.

Relying on the ability from that whale, at such a close distance, He Ao could already noticeably detect the emotions and thoughts of those ‘board’ mbers of the Kewort Group.

At this mont, they were heatedly discussing matters concerning Kavent in that boardroom.

The Kewort Group indeed doesn’t have an Angel.

And those board mbers weren’t even aware that Kavent had invited an Angel.

However, Kavent did indeed get promoted as the CEO of the entire group due to his rits in developing rare earth mines and entered the board, becoming the actual head of the Kewort Group.

Looking at it this way, perhaps it wasn’t ‘Kavent’ who invited that Angel for help.

Instead, it was that Angel who wanted to control the Kewort Group by using ‘Kavent’ as a proxy.

However, there might be so other ‘matters’ involved.

He Ao looked at the computer screen in front of him; Eve was still rapidly searching through the computer’s data and began trying to probe deeper into the Kewort Group’s files via the intranet.

But obviously, she didn’t acquire much.

The Kewort Group apparently didn’t have the habit of hiding particularly secretive critical information within their intranet.

Just then, He Ao lifted his head and looked forward.

The corridor echoed with hurried footsteps, as the ‘technical officer’ in a white suit briskly dashed towards the office.

And it seed that a little girl in a white dress appeared instantly on the computer screen, seemingly alerted by these footsteps.

She stood inside the screen, quickly glanced around, confirming no one had returned yet.

Then she imdiately started frantically closing windows.

As the footsteps rapidly approached, her movents also quickened. For the last window that she didn’t have ti to close, she simply picked it up, crumpled it into a ball, and clutched it in her hand.

Then she glanced outside the glass screen, then gently jumped, disappearing into the screen.

But in the next mont, she leapt out again, pulled up the browser window originally opened by the technical officer, restored the window to its original size, placed it back in its original position, and reset everything to normal.

Only then did she clap her hands in satisfaction at her handiwork and gently leap, disappearing into the screen.

At this ti, the technical officer in white formal wear also walked to the computer. He first glanced at the desktop, making sure no files were left behind, then pulled out the desk drawer and started rapidly flipping through what seed to be a performance report.

He Ao stood behind him, watching him rummage.

Then he lifted his head, glancing at the corner of the ceiling.

There appeared to be a tiny lens, gleaming faintly.

······

In the next instant, he appeared in a sowhat dim small room.

Nurous surveillance monitors were stacked in front of him.
