Chapter 805: Chapter 211: A Minor Interlude (Part 2)

“Is there any alcohol in the car?” she suddenly asked, following this by opening the built-in fridge in the RV and starting to look inside.

“Hey, Ali, you’ve already had enough tonight,” Adrian quickly grabbed her hand, “if you drink more you’ll get drunk.”

“It’s just a few bottles,” Alizée said unhappily, wanting to push him away, “I only had a few drinks at the bar earlier, and all I’ve been having since is beer; how could I get drunk so easily?”

“Listen to , Ali. Even if you want to drink, let’s wait until we’re back at the hotel room,” Adrian urged, but the troubled Alizée turned a deaf ear, seeming intent on getting drunk.

She had already drunk quite a bit, her brain was relatively sluggish, and her limbs seed sowhat weak, yet she was unwilling to give up. After a slight struggle, she stumbled, and her whole body fell into Adrian’s embrace, causing them both to collapse onto the seat. The two ended up closely pressed together, almost able to feel each other’s heartbeat. Alizée slowly lifted her head, Adrian’s face was right in front of her, closer than ever before, the aura of a mature man suddenly hit her.

The French girl’s heartbeat quickened, her eyes beca more blurred, and her flushed cheeks grew hotter. Then, as if she cast aside sothing completely, she reached out and cradled his face, kissing his mouth with unspeakable yearning.

———-

Alizée suddenly opened her eyes and surveyed the surroundings; was this a bedroom? Sunlight stread in through curtains fluttering in the wind, it seed to already be morning. She quickly turned over and sat up, felt her body, she was clothed, and then carefully looked around. Her hotel suite, which left her sowhat bewildered.

Initially waking in a daze, she had wanted to sleep a bit more, but so images flashed through her mind, pictures from last night, where she seed wild, repeated entanglent with Adrian Cowell, the Hollywood director she’d just t, in a moving RV. The feeling of having betrayed her loved one, full of sha, woke her up, so she sat up and wanted to see what had happened.

“Hi, darling, you’re awake,” her fiancé showed a delighted expression.

“Jeremy?” Alizée was stunned for a mont, then turned her head in a bit of panic, her heartbeat quickening.

Jeremy didn’t notice her change, sitting on the bedside and scratching his head: “Are you still mad at ?”

“Uh…” Alizée mumbled in confusion, still not turning her head back.

“I apologize, darling, I apologize,” Jeremy grabbed her shoulders and turned her to face him, looking at her very seriously, “I shouldn’t have left you alone in the room. Ed was right, this is our journey, not my journey. There won’t be a next ti, baby, I promise.”

“Ed… said that?” Alizée furrowed her brow, asking in a slightly guilty manner.

“Yes,” Jeremy seed sowhat remorseful, still failing to notice anything, “last night, after Ed brought you back drunk, he scolded seriously. Darling, I’m really sorry, I had no idea you went to the bar alone and drank so much.”

“No, it’s okay, I just wanted to… go to a bar in Las Vegas by myself, see if the bars here are any different from elsewhere, like… back in Barcelona, in London. Don’t worry, I think… maybe Ed was just too worried.” Hearing Jeremy’s words, Alizée felt a bit relieved, and her smile beca more natural.

But this state only lasted for two minutes, then Alizée beca dazed again; evidently… everything from last night was true! She really betrayed her fiancé, with a man she’d just t in less than 24 hours, passionately making love several tis in a luxury RV!

“What’s wrong, Ali? You don’t look well,” Jeremy inquired with concern.

“Nothing, maybe… last night… I did drink quite a lot.” Alizée tried her best to cover up, a sense of weakness rising in her heart, what was wrong with her? She hadn’t drunk much, so why did it seem like she’d been bewitched…

The young girl’s mind was a ss, the sense of guilt kept gnawing at her heart, especially as Jeremy was still there, offering comforting words.

“Then why not just rest in the room today,” Jeremy then suggested, “by the way, maybe we should visit Ed and thank him.”

Alizée instinctively wanted to refuse, but the images from last night couldn’t help but flash through her mind, causing her cheeks to blush again. But her fiancé was right in front, tenderly caring for her, she felt that the agony inside was unbearable.

“Okay, I’ll tidy up and after so breakfast we’ll go,” she eventually replied, wanting to confront that guy and ask him what was going on.

———

“No need, I just wanted to have a drink at the bar and send Ali up,” Adrian laughed heartily, waving his hand, “anyone would do the sa.”

“No matter what, thank you, Ed,” Jeremy said earnestly, “and you’re right, I should focus more on Ali.”

“Great, that’s what soone about to be a husband should do, any plans today?” Adrian gave a thumbs up, looking just as enthusiastic, generous, polite, and knowledgeable as before.

Alizée, who hardly spoke from beginning to end, pressed her lips, trying to discern sothing from his expression, but gained nothing, as though the events of last night never happened.

“In fact, we’ve canceled today’s plans,” Jeremy gestured, “Ali probably isn’t feeling well because she drank a bit too much last night, so she plans to spend today in the room…”

“No, let’s stick to the original plan,” Alizée suddenly interjected, “We decided earlier to check out those famous casinos.”

“But…” Jeremy hesitated and looked at her.

“I’m fine,” Alizée gave him a sweet smile, “This is what you planned, and I don’t want to disappoint you, Jerry. Besides, we have a good guide. With Ed, we’ll definitely get a deeper insight into the casinos.”

As she spoke, she glanced at Adrian, trying hard to control her emotions, but the rise and fall of her chest was still quite noticeable.

“Happy to be at your service,” Adrian imdiately smiled slightly, “I ca to Las Vegas for business. It’s basically settled, just waiting for the other’s reply, probably three or four days, just enough ti.”

Since they said so, Jeremy didn’t hesitate any further and started exploring Las Vegas casinos with Alizée under Adrian’s guidance. Indeed, this was a mind-opening journey. These casinos were indeed each unique, just in layout alone, so were vast, taking over ten minutes to walk from one end to the other, while others developed in depth, like so circular malls with several floors, each with different gambling options, allowing people to imdiately find what they want to play.

However, all casinos had sothing in common: they had no windows and clocks. Simply put, they let gamblers not see the change in daylight and not feel the passage of ti, indulging thoroughly.

Jeremy naturally had a blast, and Adrian continuously did his best as a guide, but Alizée remained consistently distressed, yet had to force a smile. Finally, after playing one round of blackjack and winning 500 US Dollars, Jeremy said he needed a long break in the restroom, giving Alizée the perfect opportunity.

“I want to talk to you.” As her fiancé walked away, the French girl, who was smiling monts ago, imdiately put on a solemn face and said to Adrian, although she couldn’t hide the anxiety in her eyes.

The reason she invited Adrian was to find a chance to ask him for clarification. She didn’t know if this was right, but if she couldn’t understand the ins and outs of the matter, if she couldn’t find a… she might drive herself mad.

“Alright.” Adrian nodded, without much surprise, the two then moved to a secluded passageway by the ergency staircase of the casino.

“What did you do to last night?” Alizée blurted out, her expression rather unkind.

“No, no, no, Ali,” Adrian raised his hands and waved them, “You shouldn’t ask what I did to you; you should ask what you did yourself.”

“What, it sounds like…” Alizée sneered, but before she could finish speaking, she froze. Upon recalling carefully, her face turned unpleasant.

“Don’t think too much, Ali, listen to …” Adrian imdiately grabbed her arm, but she excitedly pushed him away, “Don’t touch .”

“Alright, listen to , Ali, don’t be so agitated. Strictly speaking, this is not a big deal.” Adrian released her arm and spoke seriously.

“Not a big deal?” Alizée looked at him with disbelief, “I’m already engaged, and in just over two months, I’m getting married, and you tell this isn’t a big deal?!”

“I know it’s hard to accept, but think carefully, Ali, think about your past hesitations, think about what I told you last night.” Adrian showed a sincere expression.

“You said… you said…” Alizée covered her mouth, leaned against the wall in a slump, trembling as if about to cry, and the facade of strength she was putting on completely vanished at this mont. She certainly rembered those words; just a slight recall would bring them to mind, combined with her actions, the undeniable facts beca evident.

“You… you did it on purpose… you to … you to …” She struggled fiercely to appear more fierce, but she looked more like a wronged and helpless child seeking comfort and help.

“I’ve never denied your charm, Ali. I’ve also wondered why I didn’t et you earlier, but please believe , I’ve always maintained propriety. If it weren’t for…” Adrian said and grabbed her arm again; this ti, she couldn’t break free, “I don’t an to accuse you, Ali. You just followed the desires in your heart and made a choice any normal person would make.”

“A choice any normal person would make?” Alizée hugged her arms, pitifully looking up at him as if clutching at the last straw.

“Yes, as I’ve said before, you still have plenty of youthful days to squander, yet because of love, you have to step into the hall of marriage. Anyone in this situation would be unwilling. So choose to endure, and after spending so years with their partner, they bla their mate during so small conflicts, further affecting their relationship; so choose to indulge, seizing the last monts to squander, cutting it off entirely after marriage, instead finding happiness. So you really don’t need to care.”

“But…” Her expression was extrely conflicted, on one hand, her usual moral values rejected his rhetoric, but on the other hand, her heart wanted very much to accept this explanation.

“Tell , Ali, do you love Jeremy? Do you love him? Are you willing to live with him for a lifeti?” Adrian cupped her face and asked.

“Of… of course…” Alizée’s eyes beca dazed.

“Then rember, when you co out of the church, focus on him wholeheartedly, forget this past indulgence, and be his good wife.” Adrian said as he leaned toward her ear, “And before this, whatever you do can be forgiven, so just get used to it.”

“I… I…” Alizée’s gaze grew more bewildered.
