Chapter 1999: Chapter 1999: The Limits of Humanity

An advanced player with so skill can actually see that Xu Huo has suffered a loss in evolution rate, his speed and strength are inferior to Zheng Yuci. The reason he can hold on until now is firstly because of his strong psychic power, and secondly because he is a Super Evolver with spatial abilities, which can compensate for his weakness in speed.

However, evolution rate actually represents many things. Even among the strong, the one with the higher evolution rate is likely the one who has been in the ga longer and has more battle experience. Moreover, from the current situation, Zheng Yuci is getting stronger the more he fights. Occasionally being swept by the green wave, players watching can see those hexagon barriers multiplying and gathering densely behind Zheng Yuci, ready to launch.

The Resistance Army is also very worried about this issue. They have figured out that the reason Zheng Yuci hasn’t left yet is entirely because Xu Huo has attracted him.

So when Xu Huo retreated again, the Nefarious Mask placed a small prop on him and transmitted a voice through the prop, "Draw him to the ground, we have a way to kill him! Make sure to keep him in contact with the ground, the longer, the better!"

Xu Huo thought of the shadow left beside the collapsed building earlier, which was likely the work of the Resistance Army.

In the current situation, it’s a bit difficult to return to the ground. His Spiritual World cannot be shut down, and there are mutant plants everywhere around him. There’s no place in the entire Eastern District without these things...

Leaving the Eastern District is not a good choice. After a brief pause, he headed towards the Argor Headquarters.

There are also mutant plants planted near the Argor Headquarters, but due to previous battles and gas, the area has been mostly cleared.

Most of the staff in the underground buildings have already evacuated, leaving so players behind to clean up. Xu Huo didn’t care about them and landed directly on the ground.

Zheng Yuci also ca down. He had completed the materialization of all the hexagons and now had ti to talk.

"I see the shadow of an old acquaintance in you." He examined Xu Huo closely.

Xu Huo just smiled, "To my knowledge, I’m not an illegitimate child."

Zheng Yuci also smiled. Though he was soone with a cold deanor, this smile seed very gentle, "You’re incredibly skillful with your psychic power. Among the people I know, you could rank in the top three."

"People like you are the ultimate goal of my experints. Not only , if my teacher were here, he would also be very curious about the structure of your brain."

This was a statent devoid of any color.

"You implant chips in the heads of Eastern District players and inject White Blood for them to undergo Secondary Evolution?" Xu Huo seed to hear a joke, "Aren’t you a Super Evolver yourself? Don’t you understand that this is absolutely impossible?"

"How could it be?" Zheng Yuci brushed his long hair blown in front of him back over his shoulder and said calmly, "They are rely test subjects for the potion’s quality. Humans can secrete hormones that push their bodies beyond their limits. Under the stimulation of hormones, an ordinary person can accomplish the impossible. What I want to do is create a drug that can continuously push human limits."

"Can poison be considered a drug?" Xu Huo retorted with a touch of sarcasm, "If the truth is disclosed, how many people do you think would use your drug?"

"A limited and mundane life, or a relatively short but more remarkable life, smart people know how to choose." Zheng Yuci gave him a curious glance, "You don’t seem to be a very moral person, otherwise, you wouldn’t have exposed the White Blood and chip matter. Why now apply that worthless standard to soone who’s exhausting their efforts to explore human limits?"

"It’s not that, I am just buying ti." Xu Huo’s face broke into a smile again, "I can also see the shadow of a familiar person in you."

Zheng Yuci didn’t care about his "buying ti" remark at all, instead happily shifting the topic to the latter half of the sentence, "Really? My parents died early. You must be talking about my teacher."

Xu Huo’s pupils dilated slightly, "Is it your teacher who asked you to complete this experint?"

Zheng Yuci’s gaze was profound, "You know him."

"Whether I know him isn’t certain," Xu Huo didn’t admit it, and instead said, "But soone I know must know you."

Zheng Yuci imdiately understood, "So that’s it."

Xu Huo had unraveled Doctor Zhang’s Wisdom Sphere to get the tickets to Yuquan City, and the Wisdom Sphere was given to him by Chang Bei. Doctor Zhang was clearly not here, and since he knew about Zheng Yuci, there was no way he would leave empty-handed; they were bound to have a confrontation—this should be Chang Bei’s purpose.

But whatever his purpose was, it didn’t matter anymore.

"I haven’t cleared the level yet," he smiled, "Why don’t you tell

where the White Blood is stored."

"Sure." Zheng Yuci also smiled, straightforwardly saying, "There are many places, but the largest stockpile is at the White Bear Laboratory."

Xu Huo’s expression changed slightly, not because so players watching left, but because Zheng Yuci was telling the truth, and he did so so easily.

He’s not only giving up years of his own efforts, but also the city itself!

"As I said before, the ordinary people in this city are not my concern. I’m not interested in what Argor plans to do with them," Zheng Yuci continued, "But I’m very curious to see another human limit."

By limit, he ant the ordinary people in Yuquan City, as well as the Resistance Army, the Eastern District players, and Xu Huo.

The conversation ended here. Zheng Yuci raised his hand and gently waved, and the materialized hexagons behind him slamd down on Xu Huo like gigantic weapons. These hexagons had powerful cutting ability, breaking through tal effortlessly, and even after landing, they wouldn’t disappear. They directly beca portals through which people and weapons could traverse. As these hexagons spread across the ground and air at the Argor Headquarters, they ford unpredictable channels for subsequent hexagon barriers. They could vanish from any portal and appear at any other portal the next second. One or two weren’t much of a threat, but as the flying hexagons increased, the space between the barriers and channels beca an almost ceaseless attack field, where standing anywhere within the range made it impossible to avoid the sudden hexagon attacks!

Zheng Yuci hadn’t entered this area yet, but he had sealed off the killing ground ford by the materialized items, making it very difficult to leave once inside!

Xu Huo used all his Defense Props but was still struggling to cope because the portals in the Spiritual World could be regenerated imdiately after being destroyed; however, thoroughly destroying those already materialized hexagons was tough.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

Inside the beehive-like area, Xu Huo was tossed around like a target, flying chaotically despite having props to protect him. It remained hard to withstand, especially since Defense Props were not completely unbreakable. Barely stabilizing his posture, he used several sneaky props and felt the timing was right. Using the "City Sandbox," he extracted himself from Zheng Yuci’s enclosure and then deployed the psychic power he had long materialized.

A black shadow hand rested on the toe of Zheng Yuci’s shoe.
