Chapter 1998: Chapter 1998: Showdown

This wasn’t a question that required an answer. As soon as he spoke, a new wave of mutant plants overtook the block. Under the influence of the two’s psychic powers, these mutant plants, already covering the streets and crawling up buildings, gradually filled the spaces between structures, transforming the area into a green ocean that even showed signs of extending outward.

The mutant plants reached the rooftops of the buildings, and the two standing face to face vanished almost simultaneously.

Zheng Yuci’s spiritual world is symbolized by a hive, while Xu Huo’s spiritual world is symbolized by a library building. The clash between these two spiritual worlds depends on the strength of their spiritual powers. Xu Huo was originally weaker than Zheng Yuci, but he happened to have an auxiliary prop for psychic power - "The Realm of Thought," in addition to "City Sandbox," which gives him the strength to compete with Zheng Yuci.

Facing Xu Huo, Zheng Yuci no longer defended as he did against the Nefarious Mask, but attempted to completely subrge the library building with the hive from his spiritual world or simply trap Xu Huo.

His spiritual world symbol differs from the ones Xu Huo has seen before, such as the library building, Bai Kou’s chanical door, and the Moth Arts stage. They are usually completed wholes, and dragging an opponent into the core of one’s spiritual world is the best strategy against strong enemies because the effect of ntal interference can be maximized within one’s own spiritual world. However, the spiritual world Zheng Yuci demonstrated seems not to be fixed. He repeatedly used hexagonal barriers as tall as people to create a more enclosed space to achieve his purpose. The shapes are varied, with circular barriers like those against the Nefarious Mask, parts resembling hives, and at tis, even completing the structure of a whole hive.

Moreover, his hive can be established but differs from entities like the library building because the hive is mostly transparent. Even when combined, if not far from the edge, one can still see outside, which lessens the effect of visual shielding and influence.

Xu Huo doesn’t know if it’s intentional, but each ti he is surrounded by hexagonal barriers, he directly uses spiral staircases or the library building to break through them. However, over ti, he vaguely feels the characteristics of a hive.

Zheng Yuci’s spiritual world doesn’t appear to be in a complete state, and the assembled hive can be broken. It doesn’t offer strong confinent against fellow Super Evolvers with ntal powers, but as ti passes, these hexagonal barriers beco sturdier, seemingly materializing gradually.

Psychic power can materialize, and during the initial formation of a spiritual world, core materialized items naturally erge. These items represent the Evolver’s psyche, akin to the Evolver themselves, and destroying or striking these items inflicts more severe damage than ordinary attacks. As evolution progresses, Evolvers slowly gain control over their psychic powers, granting them real offensive capabilities.

Initially, psychic powers might rely interfere with opponents’ thoughts. Once psychic powers project into reality, it forms a spiritual world. The spiritual world can swiftly affect others’ senses, achieving a lifelike illusion. At this stage, the weaker one’s spiritual power, the more susceptible to interference. They might even completely believe the creations within the spiritual world are real. However, this doesn’t yet inflict actual harm and requires support from other attack ans of the Evolver to fully subdue the opponent, unless it’s hypnosis or directly controlling the opponent’s psyche to self-harm.

To transform psychic power into real weapons, one must step into "materialization," converting psychic power into various lethal items. For instance, after Xu Huo’s third evolution with Dr. Tang’s help, he could directly use psychic power to kill.

This capability is limited. Materializing psychic power consus more, and the intensity of materialized psychic power is proportional to the Evolver’s evolutionary degree. Xu Huo always controls the range when using materialized psychic power, only materializing when necessary.

Zheng Yuci is different; he seems to have fully materialized all his hexagons!

Looking up at the scattered, sotis combined hexagons filling the sky, Xu Huo frowned and shifted several kiloters away, trying to escape the hive’s range to weaken its power.

Unfortunately, Zheng Yuci quickly followed, carrying those hexagonal barriers throughout this process. Additionally, his spiritual world’s materialized items are white; thus, in Xu Huo’s eyes, Zheng Yuci now resembles a large lighting tool, illuminating wherever he goes.

Of course, this doesn’t truly an the hive has light; it’s the result of ntal interference. The more real the perceived hive is, the deeper the influence.

Since changing locations proved ineffective, Xu Huo ceased exhausting efforts to relocate and began slowly materializing psychic power while engaging Zheng Yuci through a ntal portal.

To other players, they cannot imagine what spiritual world confrontations are like. To observers, Xu Huo and Zheng Yuci appear to collide mid-air continuously, then separate, vanishing within seconds, only to reappear elsewhere. Sotis they can see people inadvertently entering their battle range, yet sotis they cannot, as Zheng Yuci’s materialized items never fade and cover a vast area. Occasionally, they glimpse a flash of hexagons, so a direct and convenient way is watching the activity of mutant plants in the city.

Now, a large area close to the city center has beco a green ocean. Wherever the two move, the green waves follow. Not even players are seen, let alone ordinary people. Initially, Eastern District players intended to clean up the situation, but after sending out over ten elites with spirit disturbance instrunts who were killed, they simply handed over the area. They only let the spatial Super Evolver known as Teacher Zhao occasionally interfere to prevent further damage.

"So, this is how battles between Super Evolvers with ntal powers look like," said so players drawn by the excitent, such as Jiang Chengfeng and Qiaoqiao. Although there’s so risk of being implicated, staying further back is fine.

With player levels established, soone said, "Still, a Rank-B player battling a Rank-A player for this long is impressive. Wonder when he’ll be killed."
