Cangwu Mountain Range Region. Forgotten Dark Forest.

He stopped just one step inside the Forgotten Dark Forest. Imdiately, he could feel a strange air lingering behind these giant trees.

The ancient canopy stretched endlessly above, so thick and tangled that only the faintest threads of sunlight managed to pierce through, casting everything in a cold shade.

At the sa ti, the air itself seed heavy, almost alive, carrying the musty scent of centuries-old decay mixed with sothing else—sothing that made his skin prickle with unease.

Despite being a Foundation Establishnt cultivator, his sense was heightened.

’Indeed, being weak is a sign of strength...’ He murmured to himself, then walked deeper into the forest.

His number one goal for this trip isn’t to hunt Fang Yu, the traitor of the Sword Cloud Manor. It is to lay a trap for Elder Wang, this suspicious individual who is a reincarnated soul of the Heavenly Court.

However, in order to keep up with appearance, he pretended to investigate the nearby area, quickly examining traces of anyone who has entered recently.

At the sa ti, he relied heavily on his spiritual sense to be aware of his surrounding. With the constant circulation of the Ghostly Concealnt, his sense managed to remain hidden.

Even at this mont, Shi Jing could feel a ’shade’, or rather, gap in the circle of his spiritual sense. For there to be a gap in his sense could ant one thing.

Sothing or soone is hiding concealing themselves from spiritual sense!

’Only a human is capable of this!’

Elder Wang, hidden in the shadow with the aid of a spirit treasure didn’t realized that his presence has long since noticed by Shi Jing.

He thought he was being careful enough, even deploying a concealnt treasure the mont he left the Sword Cloud Manor.

However, how could he fathom that soone as young as Shi Jing is this scheming and cautious? His every move was filled with intent and aning.

Since the beginning, he never had the initiative.

At this mont, Elder Wang thought he is hunting Shi Jing, when in fact, Shi Jing is hunting him!

Shi Jing sense continue to pulse in a radius, as to not lose sight of this target.

His own breathing seed muffled, swallowed by the oppressive stillness.

Beneath his feet, the forest floor was a carpet of fallen leaves so deep they might have been accumulating for decades, maybe centuries.

They didn’t crunch under his weight—instead, they compressed with a soft, unsettling squelch.

His movent is careful and deliberate, taking in his surrounding with utmost focus. The more he adapt to his surrounding, the better the chance of their confrontation.

Just then, a giant beast appear from behind one of the giant tree.

Shi Jing sense already saw its appearance before it even showed itself. Recalling this beast, Shi Jing eyes lit up in a strange manner.

"Iron-Clawed Bear!"

He didn’t know whether to reminiscent of the old tis, or to kill it imdiately.

"A Beast King?"

At a glance, this Iron-Clawed Bear is much stronger than the one he first encountered.

The Iron-Clawed Bear from his first encounter is an Ordinary Beast, comparable to that of a Body-Tempering cultivator.

anwhile, this Beast King is about the sa as a Qi-Refiner.

At his current cultivation, killing it is as easy as taking a breath. However, he had another idea.

Shi Jing didn’t attack the Beast-King Iron-Clawed Bear, and instead, dodged its lunging attacks.

As he continues to dodge, his movent was peculiar. It was as though the Bear was being led toward a certain direction.

’Now!’

Shi Jing flicked his finger to produce a sword Qi. This sword Qi streak toward the Bear head, not to cut off its head, but rather, strike at its eyes.

Bang!

With a single movent, he blinded the bear easily.

Then, without saying anything, Shi Jing disappeared from his current position. His taunting attacks, as well as sudden disappearance caused the Bear to boil into rage.

During this entire ti, Shi Jing deliberately lured the bear closer to the direction where Elder Wang was hiding.

Now that the bear lost its sight, it relied on its heightened sense of sll. Upon slling another human, it roar furiously, charging at a certain shadow behind the trees.

Seeing this, the shadow shifted before slithering to another tree.

At the sa ti, the figure was startled to be attacked by the Beast King Iron-Clawed Bear.

’What the hell is this beast? I haven’t done anything yet!’

However, with Shi Jing nearby, Elder Wang didn’t dare to make a move, simply dodging the lunges of the Iron-Clawed Bear.

At this mont, Shi Jing has already concealed himself and hid on top of the canopy of the trees.

Seeing Elder Wang being chased yet cannot attack, he chuckled to himself. This sight was quite familiar to him.

For the next couple of days, Shi Jing realized this tactic was quite entertainnt and effective. Most of his days is spent trying to investigate the trace of Fang Yu.

On the off chance that he encountered a Beast King, Shi Jing would deliberately lured it toward Elder Wang direction before disappearing.

His action engaged a number of Beast King. In the end, they all retaliated by attacking Elder Wang.

At the sa ti, Shi Jing acted clueless and slow witted, often, he would even deliberately get attacked by a Beast King to display his ’carelessness’. This only further sold the act of playing dumb.

On the 9th day, Shi Jing encountered his first Myriad Beast King, a beast comparable to that of a Foundation Establishnt Cultivator.

’Finally!’ He exclaid inwardly. Just like before, Shi Jing danced beautifully, dodging all its attacks while retreating.

Guess what direction he was retreating to? Elder Wang!

’Fuck, again?!’

Seeing Shi Jing inching closer toward him, he had the urge to attack this brat imdiately. However, he held himself back.

The reason for this is because he was cautious of Shi Jing’s trump card.

He did not want to underestimate Shi Jing capability, not after seeing his performance at the Inner Court Competition.
