Chapter 50: Zhao Min’s Sches and the Jade Pendant

Prince Consort’s Manor, Yuan Dynasty

“Your Highness, you are brilliant!” exclaid Ah San.

“Even the great warriors of the Sui Dynasty, including their Earth Immortals, have reached similar conclusions.”

Ah San, a disciple of the Diamond Sect (金刚门, Jīngāng Mén), stood respectfully before Zhao Min. Though his martial skills had reached the pinnacle of the Zhixuan Grandmaster level, his admiration for Zhao Min had grown over the years.

Initially lured by promises of wealth and status, he had joined her service without much thought. Yet, over ti, Ah San had witnessed Zhao Min’s sharp intellect and boundless ambition, far exceeding that of many n in her position.

“Tell ,” Zhao Min asked, her tone laced with curiosity, “what of their strength now? Have Wanwan and Shi Feixuan ascended to the Qi Refinent Stage, or are they already at its pinnacle?”

“Both have reached the initial stage of Qi Refinent,” Ah San replied, bowing his head.

“After receiving the inheritance, their strength now surpasses even Earth Immortals.”

Zhao Min’s eyes narrowed, her mind racing.

“It seems we’ve underestimated the master of this Celestial Abode,” she murmured.

Before the inheritance, Wanwan and Shi Feixuan had both been at the sa cultivation level as the First Emperor Ying Zheng (嬴政, Yíng Zhèng) before his celestial ascent. However, unlike Ying Zheng, they had leapt directly into the Qi Refinent stage after their inheritance.

The disparity intrigued her.

“This confirms it,” Zhao Min concluded.

“The strength of the inheritance depends not only on the recipient’s aptitude but also on the power of the one who left the legacy.”

She tapped her fingers rhythmically against the table, her thoughts lingering on the implications.

“Wanwan and Shi Feixuan only received fragnts of this inheritance,” she mused.

“Yet even fragnts were enough to elevate them to such heights. What would a complete inheritance produce?”

Her voice softened, tinged with uncharacteristic envy.

“For those of us born without divine talent, how can we not long for such strength?”

As Ah San departed, Zhao Min leaned back in her chair, attempting to collect her thoughts. Reaching for her temples, she accidentally knocked a jade pendant from the table.

The delicate clink of jade on stone pulled her from her reverie.

“Oh?” Zhao Min murmured, bending to retrieve the pendant.

The smooth surface glead under her touch. This was no ordinary trinket—it had been left behind by a peculiar encounter that morning.

In an attempt to clear her mind, Zhao Min had wandered the streets of Dadu (大都, Dàdū), where she had t the most extraordinary man she had ever seen.

His striking appearance and aloof deanour stood out, a stark contrast to the fawning sycophants she typically encountered. His indifference toward her—Zhao Min, a princess of the Yuan—was both baffling and infuriating.

In their brief eting, the man had dropped the jade pendant. Zhao Min had kept it, seeing it as a clue to track him down.

“Who are you, mysterious stranger?” Zhao Min whispered, turning the pendant over in her hand.

“You think you can ignore ? Just wait. I’ll find you—and when I do, I’ll make sure you kneel at my feet.”

Her words were defiant, but the faint smile on her lips betrayed a more playful interest.

From a shadowy corner of the room, Bai Chen observed her.

“Already so intrigued by ?” he chuckled, shaking his head.

Though he had orchestrated their encounter, Bai Chen was surprised by how deeply he had left an impression on Zhao Min.

The jade pendant he had “accidentally” dropped was no ordinary accessory—it housed a fragnt of celestial power, a gift designed to awaken Zhao Min’s latent potential.

“She’s sharp,” Bai Chen muttered, watching her carefully.

“But she’ll need more than wit to navigate what’s coming.”

With a flick of his wrist, Bai Chen disappeared into the void, leaving behind a world unknowingly shaped by his plans.
