Chapter 51: A Celestial Chance at Ho

Prince Consort’s Manor, Yuan Dynasty

“Ah, what can I say?” Bai Chen muttered to himself, standing unseen in the shadows.

“If being handso is a cri, I must be a most heinous sinner.”

His tone carried a playful self-assurance. Bai Chen’s confidence in his appearance wasn’t unfounded. Even before embarking on his celestial cultivation journey, he had been strikingly handso. Now, with his mastery of the Nine Extres Creation Codex, his aura and appearance had been elevated to an otherworldly perfection.

In the Five Dynasties, none could rival his elegance and charm.

“Anyway,” Bai Chen mused, shaking off his self-indulgent thoughts, “ti to get to work.”

He turned his gaze toward Zhao Min, who was examining the jade pendant in her hand.

A subtle hum filled the room as the jade pendant began to glow with a gentle light.

“What’s going on?” Zhao Min gasped, startled. Her fingers instinctively released the pendant, but instead of falling, it hovered mid-air, radiating an ethereal brilliance.

“Guards!”

Startled by her exclamation, the guards stationed outside the room burst in, their weapons drawn. Yet, their vigilance faltered when their eyes fell upon the scene before them—a jade pendant floating effortlessly in the air, shimring like a celestial artefact.

“Stand down!” Zhao Min commanded sharply, regaining her composure.

“This is none of your concern. Leave imdiately!”

The guards hesitated, exchanging uncertain glances.

“Now!” Zhao Min barked, her voice brooking no argunt.

Before they could retreat, however, the pendant released a powerful wave of energy.

“Boom!”

The unseen force hurled the guards backwards, slamming them against the walls. Those of weaker constitution collapsed unconscious, while the rest stumbled to their feet, shaken and bloodied.

Despite the chaos, Zhao Min’s expression was one of exhilaration rather than fear.

“This… this is it!” she whispered, her eyes glinting with excitent.

“This is celestial providence!”

As the guards scrambled to regroup, the light emanating from the pendant intensified. The pendant’s glow coalesced into a radiant orb, enveloping the entire room in a warm, golden hue.

“Is it calling ?” Zhao Min murmured. Her gaze was locked on the expanding orb, now slowly descending toward her.

Hesitation flickered across her face. Could this light harm ?

But logic quickly quelled her fears. The pendant had chosen her, revealing no malice in its actions thus far. To retreat now would an abandoning a once-in-a-lifeti opportunity.

“No risk, no reward,” she declared firmly, stepping into the light.

The orb surged forward, consuming her entirely.

“Her Highness!”

The guards exclaid in panic as they watched Zhao Min disappear into the orb of light.

“Retreat imdiately!”

The commanding voice of Luzhangke cut through their disarray. He entered the chamber alongside Hebiweng, both n radiating the gravitas of Grandmasters of the Celestial Phenona.

Seeing the orb envelop Zhao Min, the two exchanged a knowing glance, their expressions filled with awe.

“This is celestial destiny,” Hebiweng said, his voice trembling.

“Her Highness has been chosen by the heavens themselves.”

More figures soon arrived—other experts loyal to the Prince Consort’s Manor, each of them a formidable warrior in their own right. The sight of the glowing orb left them wide-eyed with amazent and envy.

“We must protect Her Highness at all costs,” Luzhangke declared.

“Send a ssenger to the palace imdiately. Inform His Majesty and the Prince that the Princess has been chosen by the celestial inheritance.”

“And what of us?” another warrior asked.

Luzhangke’s gaze swept the room, his tone decisive.

“The rest of us will guard this chamber. No one is to disturb Her Highness!”

……………………………………………………………………………………………………..

In the shadows, Bai Chen chuckled quietly.

“Zhao Min, you’re quite the clever one,” he mused, watching the scene unfold.

“But you’re also predictable.”

The entire sequence of events—from the pendant’s awakening to the guards’ reactions—had gone precisely as Bai Chen had anticipated. The jade pendant, infused with a fragnt of his celestial energy, would guide Zhao Min toward her awakening as a cultivator.

“I wonder,” Bai Chen murmured, his lips curling into a sly smile, “what you’ll think when you realize the extent of my plans?”

With a flick of his wrist, he vanished into the ether, leaving behind a manor abuzz with anticipation and a princess poised to embrace her celestial destiny.
