Olivia's analysis of the story was not mistaken, and the play was unfolding just as she had anticipated.
(As expected, the flow is just as I predicted. The two leave the village and head to the city, where they start to beco conscious of each other. This is the scene where their relationship progresses, and it should be the best timing for to act. Once I know the timing, all that's left is to intertwine fingers…… intertwine fingers…… with Miyama Kaito-sama……)
To begin with, Olivia found the idea of intertwining fingers and holding hands quite embarrassing up until this point. She had resolved to carry through with the date perfectly, strengthening her resolve, but that didn’t an her embarrassnt had disappeared.
When it ca ti to actually execute it, her embarrassnt only grew stronger.
(W- When it cos ti to act, I get flustered huh…… it’s just a slight change in the way we hold hands. Of course, the warmth of Miyama Kaito-sama’s hand, as radiant as the sun in the heavens as he is, is an overwhelming source of happiness for soone as inexperienced as I am, making it impossible to maintain my composure. Even now, as I try to remain as unaware as possible, the warmth from his hand seems to seep deep into my heart, and stray thoughts keep rising to the surface. This play scene feels almost like that…… like Miyama Kaito-sama and ——— w- wait, what am I thinking?!)
Perhaps feeling sowhat confused, Olivia found herself ntally superimposing herself and Kaito onto the play’s protagonist and heroine.
Once she started thinking that way, she couldn’t help but imagine herself and Kaito experiencing the sa events as the characters in the story.
(I- Imagining sothing so impudent about Miyama Kaito-sama! How disgraceful of to picture us as a couple! N- No, I admit that right now, Miyama Kaito-sama and I are on a date, and there are certain similarities. However, this date is nothing more than a trial decreed by the great Shallow Vernal-sama, and it’s not as if…… as if I harbor romantic feelings for Miyama Kaito-sama…… no, that's not sothing I can say definitively……)
Though she lacked experience, Olivia wasn’t completely oblivious to her own feelings. Her profound faith in Kaito often overshadowed her emotions, leaving her unable to fully recognize them.
Yet, even beyond that faith, she couldn’t entirely deny having feelings for Kaito, who had gently taken her hand and taught her so many things she hadn’t known before.
(A- Anyway, I mustn’t dwell on it. I need to focus solely on the goal of intertwining our fingers as planned. B- But, there’s the risk of surprising Miyama Kaito-sama with a sudden gesture, so maybe I should wait for a better mont…… N- No, I mustn’t hesitate here. Now is the best timing!)
For a brief mont, Olivia considered postponing her actions due to her embarrassnt and hesitation. However, while she may have been shy, Olivia was also decisive when it ca to taking action.
Suppressing the excuses bubbling up in her mind, she moved at what she deed the optimal timing. Though her movents were clumsy and might not have conveyed her intentions clearly under normal circumstances…… Kaito, fortunately, was aware of her earlier conversation with Kaori and quickly understood her intent, adjusting their hands into a lover’s hold.
(……Ah, so this is…… this is…… what they call a lover’s hold…… W- What is this indescribable feeling welling up inside …… My face is hot, and my cheeks are slacking? T- This won’t do. I must hold firm. I can’t show an unsightly appearance in front of Miyama Kaito-sama! Ah, but this…… this overwhelming happiness won’t subside. Calm down…… I have to calm down……)
Holding hands with intertwined fingers, as Olivia had imagined, allowed her to feel the warmth of Kaito's hand directly. This brought an indescribable sense of happiness, causing her cheeks to relax involuntarily.
While this feeling could be described as happiness, Olivia, inexperienced as she was, couldn’t fully grasp the emotions rising from deep within her heart. The rapid beating of her chest and the rising heat in her body left her bewildered.
She glanced at Kaito, and at that very mont, Kaito also turned to look at her, their eyes eting. Though the audience seating was dimly lit, Olivia could still see Kaito’s gentle smile, and the pounding in her chest made her catch her breath.
(How divine and radiant…… That smile, with a brilliance capable of outshining the stage lights entirely, yet warm enough to envelop the hearts of those who see it, is truly worthy of being described as heavenly beauty. To be graced with such a smile from Miyama Kaito-sama, it’s only natural that my heart races. And the smooth movents of his fingers, every gesture Miyama Kaito-sama makes is so refined……)
And, as was typical when she beca flustered, Olivia found herself endlessly praising Kaito in her mind while keeping her expression perfectly composed, all the while sinking deeper into a whirlpool of confusion.
Serious-senpai : [Kuh, as expected, this one’s tough. She gets embarrassed, but still takes action. Just when you think she might hesitate and back off, she pushes through and goes for it……]
