’This sounds so freaking cool~~’

Jas had an idiotic smile on his face as he stared at his and said, "Ice Blade!"

The sudden rush of energy Jas now knew as mana rushed through his body like a storm. He watched in awe as a clear blue long sword materialized in his hand.

It was cool to the touch and Jas reached out his other hand to feel the edge.

He yanked it back when the shocking coldness sent a chill down his arm. He shivered a little as goosebumps prickled up in patches on his skin.

’This seems like a double-edged sword... no pun intended... hehe’

It was surprisingly heavy, the condensed ice packed tight with power.

Jas walked over the training dummy as his servants oooh’d and awe’d at the skill. They hadn’t known what skills Jas had acquired so far and were extrely impressed with today’s display.

’Take this sucker!’

He swung a wide swipe at the training dummy and paused after it hit.

’That’s it?’

Jas expected... more. As far as he could tell the sword was literally just a sword. There wasn’t any shockwave of ice or even a cloud of cool ice fog.

He swung it a couple more tis getting a feel for the weapon. After his seventh hit, a thin layer of ice spread out in a patch on the dummy’s chest.

’At least that was cool...’

Jas brought up his combat log and inspected the damage.

(You have inflicted 130 damage on Training Dummy)

(You have inflicted 122 damage on Training Dummy)

(You have inflicted 123 damage on Training Dummy)

(You have inflicted 117 damage on Training Dummy)

(You have inflicted 126 damage on Training Dummy)

(You have inflicted debuff: Freeze on Training Dummy for 2 seconds)

Jas was confused by the damage numbers and focused on his first hit that he used his full strength on.

(You have inflicted 130 damage on Training Dummy) (63 slashing damage, 67 ice damage)

’I’m so stupid, of course there would be slashing damage. It’s a god damn sword after all.. and the freeze. Hmm, I guess that ans it isn’t a flat 3 seconds if it activates. That’s good to know.’

The 63 slashing was pretty easy to figure out, his strength and his title added up to that.

’In actual combat it would probably be lower though... armor and skill resistances would deflect so of it. Whatever, it’s magic baby and it’s badass!’

Jas didn’t let the lackluster skill dampen his spirits in the slightest as he waved the sword around a few more tis. He stopped after a mont, the training dummy couldn’t hold up to his assault.

He wondered why the other training dummy had been blown away by his magic missiles and this one held up for so much longer.

Jas was thinking out loud and Emily gave him the answer.

"That’s because these dummies probably aren’t ant for magic practice. Most soldiers only have physical combat classes and there is a separate training ground for long range skills that accommodates magic users."

"Oooohh... I didn’t even think of that.."

The sword was a little bit of a letdown but learning which skills did what was the whole point of today’s exercise.

Before he got to the main course Jas stuck the ice blade in the ground, he didn’t know if he could dismiss it, so letting the duration run out was his only option.

Bringing out his knife, Jas looked at another skill he wanted to test.

[Skill: Eviscerate (Level 15)]

Description: Inflict a double slash at a target back with a small blade. Damage caused by this skill inflicts debuff: Gaping Wounds.

Bonus skill damage: 75% (Level 15)

Cost: 40 stamina

Cooldown: 10 minutes

Jas walked to the dummies backside and activated the skill. He knew that it wouldn’t cause the debuff to activate, but he was curious as to how the double slash worked.

Like a puppet pulled by strings, his body automatically moved. His hand flicked out in blinding speed to cut the dummy in an X shape.

Jas went slack jawed when the dummy fell apart as his knife passed through cleanly.

(You have inflicted 252 slashing damage on Training Dummy)

"What the hell! Why did that do so much damage!?"

Emily laughed and explained.

"You have [Small Baldes] right? And I’m sure that was [Eviscerate]. That ans your slashes strength was enhanced by [Small Blades] and further increased by the other."

"So my total of 70 with this knife equipped was multiplied by 1.85 and 1.75!? And then added together? I didn’t know that’s how it worked.... [Ice Balde] seems so useless now..."

Jas wasn’t too upset though, once he got a passive skill to increase the swords damage, it would be on par with his knife.

’Well, it kinda already is on par, I can only use that skill every 10 minutes. My normal slashing damage with [Ripsaw] is only about 130... though it’s passive bleeding damage makes it better than the ice sword.’

Getting hard details about what he could do was exciting and Jas moved on to another training dummy. He’d have to apologize to Susan later for wrecking her stuff.

Jas sent out a punch this ti was surprised that it did 120 blunt damage. His [Unard Combat] skill was level 18 and made his fists as deadly as his weapons apparently.

’Thanks for the gift, Susan..’

He wondered if he should have Galea make a pair of gauntlets like the fighter captain had.

His confidence grew imnsely today, unlike most people, Jas had spread his stats out sowhat evenly. He didn’t have a class that required him to maximize his attention on one particular stat so all skills he gained with his mythic class were usable.

’I don’t think anyone could be my equal when I hit level 50...’

He’d have to stop investing so heavily in constitution though, he heard from his servants that most people stopped putting points into after 30-45. He was already at 50 and was a little regretful at his reckless stat point allocation. Even though he knew it was a stupid idea, he wanted every stat at 50 or more.

Stopping his idle thoughts, Jas brought out the last thing he wanted to test today.

His new war hamr shone magnificently in the afternoon light. Strength flowed into him as he wields the black and gold hunk of tal.

’A total of 80 strength ans that my [Two Handed Weapons] skill would do 160 damage with a full power swing.... Let’s just try out the active skill instead.’

Jas’s body wasn’t extrely muscular or anything despite his insane strength, but his muscles bulged as hefted the hamr up.

With a short yell, he used [Concussive Blow] in a hard swing downwards.

BoomBoomBoom

Dust exploded everywhere as the dummy was smashed into the ground. A small crater was all that was left in the aftermath of his attack.

’Holy... shit..’

The training yard went silent again and Jas felt stared the stares directed at his back.

The ground had splintered sowhat and a few long cracks spiderwebbed out from the point of impact. He focused on the skill trying to understand what just happened. The aftershocks of the skill still rumbled through his arms.

’That’s not exactly what I thought concussive blow ant...’

[Skill: Concussive Blow (Level 15)]

Description: Attacks made with this skill inflict shockwaves that reverberate inside the targets body.

Bonus skill damage: 75% (Level 15)

Cost: 200 stamina

Cooldown: 4 hours

’I thought that concussive ant like... it was easier to knock sobody out... I should’ve read the description first..’

(You have inflicted 525 damage on Training Dummy) (280 blunt damage 140 internal damage 70 internal damage 35 internal damage)

’Oh.. my... god.... I just did enough damage to almost one shot myself.... Holy fuck!’

Jas guessed that the damage might’ve been higher, but the training dummy exploded before the skill could run its course, transferring the damage into the ground below it.

He was sowhat drained now; the mana and stamina use fatigued his body strangely. It was different from being tired after a workout, it was more internal and ntal weariness.

He didn’t even check the passive skill on the war hamr before shoving it back into his inventory. Jas had enough of going over his skills for one day.

His servants and soldiers alike were all looking at him in disbelief. He heard muttering and hushed whispers all around.

"He is a man, right?"

"How is he so strong..."

"I want Prince Jas to ss up my pus...."

He quickly stopped listening and got his servants attention.

"Ahem.. let’s go you two. I think it’s almost dinner ti."

Veronica scooped him up in a comfortable princess carry and walked out of the training ground.
