Chapter 421: Chapter 418 – Azure Dragon and the Ancient Seal

Even though the respawning monsters grew stronger, their numbers were far fewer than before. The corridors of the dinsional rift, once filled with fierce roars and the shifting of mist, now felt much quieter and more silent. Only the occasional faint heavy footsteps or the slow shifting of purple mist, like the breathing of a living creature, could be heard. Sylvia, Stacia, and Alicia continued forward with steady steps. Their battles were now more asured, more efficient, and far calr.

Sylvia’s Chains of Abyss moved with sharper and more controlled motions. The pitch-black chains are no longer slaughtered brutally like on the first day. Every thrust and coil was now executed with high precision, draining the monsters’ vitality in re seconds. Each attack carried far greater weight after her drastic level increases. The chains moved like extensions of Sylvia’s will itself cold, fast, and deadly.

Stacia cast spells from her grimoire with elegant and controlled movents. Her eight black wings flapped once, creating waves of darkness that burned small groups of monsters at once. Her spells grew sharper, their energy consumption lower, yet their destructive power beca even more lethal. Every page of the grimoire rustled fiercely when turned, as if the ancient book itself was enjoying the abundant flow of dinsional energy.

Alicia floated through the gaps in the fighting, her spirit body passing through attacks with ease and grace. Her translucent hands touched the monsters’ chests and rapidly drained their soul essence. She could now absorb vitality from greater distances and at higher speeds, her movents becoming more agile and precise.

Ding! Level Up! Level 47 → 48

Ding! Level Up! Level 48 → 49

Ding! Level Up! Level 49 → 50

When Sylvia reached level 50, the corridor around them beca completely silent. No more monsters appeared. The purple mist stopped shifting, as if the entire area had run out of "raw materials" for respawning. Only the faint, slow pulse of the purple stone walls remained.

Sylvia stopped walking. The Chains of Abyss slowly coiled back around her wrists with a soft rattle. "Level 50," she said softly, her voice cold but filled with deep satisfaction. "The monsters in this area are gone for now. Whether they will respawn again or not, I don’t know. But for the ti being... we’ve cleared most of the outer region of the rift."

Stacia closed her grimoire with a heavy thud. Her eight black wings folded neatly behind her. "It’s only been a few hours since we woke from rest. We still have plenty of ti. It’s better to continue exploring deeper. The energy here grows stronger the farther we go. I can feel the pull becoming clearer."

Alicia floated beside them, her spirit body shining brighter under the purple mist’s light. "I agree. I feel a very strong pull of energy from ahead. The core of the rift is probably there. The energy... feels different. Purer. More ancient."

The three of them continued deeper without hesitation. The corridors grew narrower, the purple stone walls pulsed faster and stronger, and the mist beca thicker. The air felt heavier, as if every step pressed their souls with increasingly pure and ancient dinsional power. The pressure was no longer rely physical, but sothing that touched the soul directly.

Suddenly, as they stepped across an invisible threshold, the world around them changed drastically.

Like passing through a thin, unseen mbrane, the space ahead beca total darkness. Perfect darkness not rely the absence of light, but a darkness that swallowed all forms of light. Even their voices could not be heard. Footsteps, breathing, the rattle of chains everything vanished, as if this world had decided to silence it all.

Only telepathy still functioned.

This... is very strange, Stacia’s voice echoed directly in Sylvia and Alicia’s minds. I can’t hear my own voice. Even my grimoire feels silent.

I feel the sa, Alicia replied. My spirit body feels... empty. Like being in an endless void. This place makes

uneasy.

Sylvia remained calm, though she too felt a deep discomfort at the bottom of her soul. Stay alert. We’ve crossed a dinsional mbrane. This is probably a purer inner space. Don’t panic.

She calmly raised her right hand. In her palm, the pure white War Sun Fla began to ignite. At first it was only the size of a soybean, then it slowly grew larger, its light becoming brighter. The white fla shone more intensely, its holy light gradually pushing back the absolute darkness around them.

The place finally beca visible.

There was only pitch-black stone that glead like pure obsidian, without any patterns or carvings. Its surface was smooth and cold, as if the entire chamber was an empty space bounded by endless black walls. No visible ceiling, no clear floor, only darkness surrounding them like a vast sea of pitch black.

And in the center of the chamber lay an enormous figure.

A dragon.

Not a winged dragon like Noir or the Elder Dragon they had fought before. This was an Asian dragon, a gigantic serpent-like body coiled gracefully, its scales a glossy blackish-blue with faint moving patterns of clouds and lightning, long elegant curved horns on its head, and long whiskers that floated gently in the air like living smoke. Its size was imnse; its body alone was hundreds of ters long, making Sylvia, Stacia, and Alicia feel like tiny ants before it.

The dragon was bound by thick black chains that pierced and coiled around its entire body. The chains pulsed with ancient runes glowing a deep red, as if sealing its power with trendous and cruel strength.

As the War Sun Fla grew brighter, the dragon slowly opened its eyes.

Deep, majestic golden eyes opened slowly. Its gaze fell upon the three small figures standing stunned before it. For a mont, the empty chamber felt even more silent, as if the entire world was holding its breath.

Then a voice of imnse authority, deep and ancient, echoed directly in all three of their minds not through their ears, but through a far stronger and purer telepathy.

"You... little girls. What are you doing here?"

The voice was like primordial thunder speaking straight to their souls. Its pressure was so strong that the air around them trembled violently, even though no physical sound was heard.

Sylvia quickly composed herself. She stepped forward, her telepathic voice calm and respectful.

"We are strengthening ourselves. We ca to this rift to seek energy that can help us grow stronger."

The dragon was silent for a mont, its golden eyes narrowing as it carefully assessed the three of them. Then it nodded slowly. Even that small movent of its head made the chains binding its body rattle loudly CLANK... CLANK...

"Hoo... strengthen yourselves. The three of you carry the scent of very pure death. And you... black-haired girl, you are the center of it. Very interesting."

Sylvia did not deny it. She continued in a calm and respectful telepathic voice. "We co from Nocture. The world outside is changing very rapidly. Earth has fused with other planets. Human kingdoms, minor gods, and ancient powers are fighting for dominance. We left our city to seek greater power so we can protect what we have."

The dragon listened in silence. Its golden eyes glowed brighter when it heard the word "fusion."

"Hoo... it seems the restrictions on Earth have been lifted. The world that was once locked is now wide open. That explains many things."

Sylvia nodded slowly. "We would like to know... who are you? And why are you here, sealed like this?"

The dragon remained silent for quite a while. The chains binding its body rattled softly, as if responding to the question. Finally, its majestic voice echoed again in their minds.

"My na is Azure Dragon. One of the many sacred beasts that once protected Earth. We are the guardians of balance: Azure Dragon of the East, Vermilion Bird of the South, White Tiger of the West, Black Tortoise of the North. We guarded the four directions and the center of the world. Of course, there were other sacred beasts like the Golden Dragon, Nine-Tailed Fox, and many more. All those mythic beasts... were actually real."

It let out a long sigh that made the entire chamber tremble violently, the chains on its body rattling loudly along with it.

"For so reason... we were sealed here.

and my siblings. I do not feel hatred toward whoever sealed us. Because the one who might have done it... was the Avatar of Earth itself. Perhaps it foresaw a greater danger in the future. Perhaps it wanted us to sleep until the world truly needed us again."

Sylvia, Stacia, and Alicia listened in respectful silence. The dragon’s aura was so ancient and powerful, even while sealed, that it made them feel small in its presence.

Azure Dragon gazed at the three of them with deep, wise golden eyes.

"And you... little girls who carry pure death. You did not co here by coincidence. The energy of this rift was indeed calling you. Take what you need. But rember the power you gain here will bring a heavier burden in the future."

Sylvia bowed her head respectfully, her telepathic voice full of reverence. "We understand. Thank you for your guidance, Azure Dragon."

The dragon nodded slowly once more. The chains on its body rattled loudly.

"Go. Explore deeper if you dare. But be cautious. At the core of this rift... there is sothing even I did not dare touch when I was still free."

The telepathic conversation ended. Azure Dragon slowly closed its golden eyes again. Its long body fell silent once more like a living sealed statue, with only the faint glow of the deep red runes on the chains remaining.

Sylvia, Stacia, and Alicia exchanged glances. Their combined auras felt even more unified after hearing the sacred dragon’s story. A new sense of respect had been born, along with an even stronger resolve.

"Let’s continue," Sylvia said softly through telepathy. "The core of the rift is still waiting."

The three of them stepped deeper into the thickening darkness, leaving the sealed figure of Azure Dragon behind them. The light of the War Sun Fla still shone brightly in Sylvia’s hand, illuminating the path ahead with holy light that contrasted sharply with the ancient darkness around them.

Inside this mysterious dinsional rift, their encounter with Azure Dragon had opened a new Chapter in their journey to seek greater power.
