Randy looked at the nonchalant leader and nodded his head.
"Yes! They are willing to exchange it as long as all of them are not hurt by any ans..."
As he said that, his gaze hovered over to one corner of the cave.
There, a person was lying in a small puddle of dried blood. His face was bruised and swollen and no one could hardly identify him anymore.
If the people inside this cave did not know beforehand that this person was actually Gasper, none of them would be able to recognize him at first glance due to how badly beaten his face was.
All of them except the bandits look at him with pity in their eyes.
He got badly beaten due to him helping Miguel escape. Not only that, he would always make it difficult for the bandits. For example, shouting for help randomly and sotis sabotaging the bandits, doing his best to escape their predicant.
Unfortunately, he had not succeeded even a single ti, and everyti he did so, he would always get beaten as punishnt.
"Hmmp! It’s too late for that. Tell them to accept our conditions, else, they would only see the corpses of these youngsters. Erika is an important mber, right? Tell them not to delay too much, else..."
The leader stated with a cold face.
The others shivered upon hearing his words, especially Erika.
Randy nodded his head, "I’ll relay that to them."
....
In the deepest part, underground of Ghost Wail Mountain
Miguel stared at the area ahead in an alarm.
The gurgling sound echoed through the air.
In front of him, at the end of the tunnel he was in, dozens of holes could be seen forming like a bee hive around the tunnel walls.
The gurgling sound ca from these holes in the walls.
Miguel, who had been using the newly improved [Divine Sense], clearly saw the creatures hiding within these walls.
From his senses alone, he was able to tell that all these creatures were demonized beasts. The bloodthirsty, and berserked aura could not be hidden no matter if they were moving or not.
These demonized beasts inside the holes seed to be hibernating peacefully. A strange thing to see especially since they were all demonized beasts. This leads Miguel to believe that the ’demonic miasma’ was indeed sentient, especially after the incident earlier.
He guessed that these demonized beasts must be those beasts who had been demonized too deeply and had been controlled by the ’demonic miasma’ already.
Miguel looked around in caution. The area in front of him was very spacious. A lot of tunnels branched out from this area, as each tunnel hole has another hole of a demonized beast beside it, as though they were there to guard the tunnel entrances.
Miguel cautiously approached the end of his tunnel entrance.
Using the [Divine Sense] to its full potential, he took note of all the holes and the demonized beasts inside them.
The ’heart’ was still not here, aning that its location was even deeper than where he was. However, since this place had popped up now, he should be extrely close to the demon heart’s location by now.
However, these demonized beasts would be a huge problem to him.
There were just too many of them, and he could tell that most of them were strong as well.
Not to ntion that, he was still not sure if there were even more demonized beasts the closer he got to the demon’s heart.
He, with the help of Aaliyah and Edith, might be able to defeat all these demonized beasts, however, what if they will end up disturbing the demonized beasts deep inside and will end up swarming towards them?
There were a lot of possibilities that he needs to consider since he was still very weak.
After a few monts of careful deliberation, Miguel finally made a decision.
It was to ignore these beasts for now and proceed forward.
There were a lot of possibilities he needed to consider, but the most important of them all was that he could not casually summon Aaliyah and Edith for now. He still needed their strength to finish the demon heart later.
At this mont, he observed that they were all hibernating and had not detected his presence yet.
This was the perfect opportunity for him to slip in.
Miguel did not waste ti and proceeded forward sneakily.
The gurgling sounds entered his ears but he ignored them as he continued.
It was only when he reached the biggest tunnel, which he determined as the entrance to the deepest part where the heart lies, did he heave a sigh of relief.
He looked back at the area full of demonized beasts one last ti before proceeding forward.
A few minutes later, Miguel encountered another area full of hibernating demonized beasts. This ti, the area was even bigger than the last and has more demonized beasts.
Fortunately, none of them were awake at this mont and were like the demonized beasts from the previous area, hibernating.
Miguel cautiously bypassed them and proceeded forward.
He encountered two more, each bigger than the last. The aura of bloodthirst inside the holes had also grown compared to the previous ones.
From Miguel’s estimation, most of them were now at Bronze Grade with a high level.
The deeper he went the cautious Miguel beca. He also realized the true horror of the demonized army that Edith was talking about before.
A single demonized beast was already hard enough for the people or rcenaries, how much more if there were hundreds or even thousands of them attacking at the sa ti?
He reckoned that Red Cliff City would surely be razed to the ground within an hour if these demonized beasts that he had seen inside these holes ca to attack.
Fortunately, they were all hibernating right now. Deep inside, Miguel was already searching for the most effective way to eliminate these threats.
And as he expected, Miguel finally reached the area where the demon heart was after almost an hour.
The area was pretty huge and has a very large space inside, much like a do that was over five hundred ters wide.
Looking above, Miguel saw a hole that extended outwards, big enough for light to pass through and illuminate the area. The hole was pretty wide as well, it has a diater of more than twenty-ters.
At the center of this do-like area, right under the hole that connects to the sky was a purplish object emitting a foul stench that assaulted Miguel’s nose.
It was placed above an elevated rectangular rock. At the center of this rectangular rock was a small puddle of water, continuously flowing to all sides of the rectangle.
The puddle of water above the rectangle was actually a spring. It was where all the water from the various creeks around Ghost Wail Mountain ca from.
The purplish object, the demon’s heart was suspended at the center of this spring.
Perhaps, due to the fact that it was already morning, the ’heart’ no longer produced the wailing sounds, and no abnormalities could be seen in the spring at this mont either.
Miguel looked at the demon’s heart intently.
It was a huge heart, bigger than even the carriage of the Red Family that he previously rode on.
It has an irregular shape that could change depending on which direction one was looking.
In Miguel’s perspective though, it looked to be in a cylindrical shape.
Miguel did not act hastily and observed his surroundings carefully. Much like the areas he encountered earlier, there were also holes in the walls around this area as well.
The holes were also bigger than what he had seen so far, and the demonized beasts inside seed to be as strong as Silver Grade Beasts.
Due to the limited range of his [Divine Sense], Miguel could only detect the demonized beasts inside the holes near him.
He also noticed that so of the holes no longer had any demonized beast’s presence inside them, which made him a little puzzled.
After determining that it was safe, Miguel finally summoned Aaliyah and Edith silently.
He gestured for them to stay quiet, as he pointed to the elevated rock that held the purplish demon heart.
Aaliyah and Edith traced his fingers and saw the demon’s heart as well.
Aaliyah imdiately emitted a hint of hostility in her face while Edith looked at it with a pensive and regretful expression.
Miguel told them his intentions as the two girls nodded their heads in understanding.
With the demon heart in sight, the three of them no longer wasted any more ti and approached the demon heart cautiously.
Fortunately, nothing happened as they successfully arrived near the elevated rock.
Aaliyah and Edith nodded their head at each other as they prepared to cast each of their strongest skill to finish the demon heart once and for all.
The determination to kill flashed acrossed their eyes.
However at the next mont, Miguel’s anxious voice suddenl resounded in their ears.
"Dodge!"
