It was already dawn when the group made another stop. This ti, it was not for a stop over, instead, it was due to the unusual situation in front of them.
Miguel frowned and asked, "Is it another demonic beast or just normal ones."
It was Randy who scouted ahead of them, it was also him who told them about the unusual situation in front.
Randy shook his head. He has a grave face and it was apparent that what he saw was not sothing good, "No it’s not."
"Anyways, just follow him and see for yourself! This is a popular stopping area as well," He said as he moved forward with his Wind Horse.
The others looked at Miguel, waiting for his decision.
After so thought, he nodded his head and made the carriage follow behind Randy.
A mont later, they finally saw what Randy ant.
The others gasped in shock and horror, especially the won of the group. Gasper and the other boys looked at the scene with pale faces.
The rcenaries had a rather mild reaction yet they were actually also in shock.
The scene in front of them was quite tragic. Or more precisely, it was quite brutal.
Five carriages were strewn over the road, badly damaged.
Blood was splattered all over the place, each carriage was painted with blood.
There were no remains or any body parts around, yet seeing the scene, everyone imdiately realized what had happened.
Demonic beast!
These were definitely the work of a demonic beast!
Even though there were cases of beast consuming humans as well, remains would usually still be left in the ground. However, demonic beasts were extrely sinister and bloodthirsty. Not only would they attack anyone on sight, they would also devour them and leave nothing behind of their flesh.
Everyone has the sa thought as they pass by the wreckage.
They hissed and kept their mouths shut. The bloody sll was pretty bad, the others could not help but cover their nose.
"Be alert," Miguel stated as he summoned his grimoire instantaneously. His summoning quota has already been reset so he could now choose to summon Aaliyah if he needs to.
They don’t know if the demonic beast responsible for the carnage was still there, if it ambushed them and it was pretty strong, Miguel already decided to summon Aaliyah or even escape on his own as a last resort.
Everyone nodded their heads from Miguel’s reminder. The summoners also began to close their eyes and chant the summoning incantations deep in their hearts, trying to summon their grimoire ahead of ti and prepare for a possible battle.
However, the carriages passed by the area without anything happening.
Miguel and the others secretly heaved a sigh of relief. However, what they saw earlier just made them realize that if they did not follow Miguel’s arrangents, there was a high chance that their outco might be the sa as the one they passed earlier.
One demonic beast was already rare enough. Two at the sa ti might be coincidence, but three instances definitely ant that sothing was wrong, just like Miguel’s speculation.
The group continued their journey with renewed vigilance.
The warmth of the rising sun made them feel relieved, yet they still did not dare to let their guard down.
A few hours later, the group arrived at Red Cliff City safely.
Everyone felt relieved as they saw the standard city wall of Red Cliff City. Seeing a human settlent renewed their vigor. The servants even shed tears, grateful about their life.
Each of them thanked and appreciated Miguel’s decision. If not for him, who knows what would have happened to them by now.
As the group entered the city, Erika ntioned that they should take a rest here first and investigate before continuing with their journey.
They obviously could not continue if they did not know what was going on.
The roads were no longer safe, and no one wanted to risk their lives just like that, including Erika.
Miguel agreed with her decision. They found an inn in the city and decided to take a rest there after eating.
After they made enough rest from the tiring and stressful journey, everyone finally decided to start their investigations.
Randy volunteered to go to the rcenary Guild of Red Cliff City and inquire. Erika said she would visit the branch head of Red Family in this place, while the others ford into groups and decided to inquire around for so information.
Miguel also decided to move alone.
After asking Erika, he decided to go to a shop that sold so beast related materials.
For one thing, he wanted to familiarize himself with the shops of this world, for the other, he wanted to see if he could find so materials for the Volcanic Tortoise’s evolution.
In order to reach its ancient form that Miguel saw from its introduction, it must evolve a total of four tis before it could fully evolve into the Four-Elent Devouring Tortoise.
It has already succeeded its first evolution from Ordinary Grade Rock Tortoise to a Bronze Grade Volcanic Tortoise. For it to follow the evolution path of being a Four-Elent Devouring Tortoise, it must evolve into a Silver Grade Scorching Water Tortoise first before reaching Level 6 Bronze Grade.
The Four-Elents Devouring Tortoise has a strange path of evolution that involves fusing the four basic elents of Fire, Water, Earth and Air to combine them as one.
From a non-attributed Rock Tortoise to a fire attributed Volcanic Tortoise, and then fusing with a water attributed resource to evolve into dual attribute Silver Grade Scorching Water Tortoise.
Miguel intended to search for water attributed material and let the Volcanic Tortoise consu it if he found a suitable one. He just doesn’t need a normal water attributed material, it must also be potent and can contend with the Volcanic Tortoise’s current fire elent, else it would just get evaporated into nothing.
After walking for so ti, Miguel finally arrived at a busy market area. He walked towards a particular spot and after confirming that it was the one that Erika ntioned, he did not waste any more ti and finally went inside.
As he entered, an aged and husked voice suddenly entered his ears.
"What would you like to buy?"
