Miguel pointed at the burning corpse of the two demonic beasts and asked, "Where do these kinds of beasts co from anyways?"
When the question was asked, everyone imdiately perked their ears in interest, especially the newly awakened grimoire users as there were still a lot of things they did not know yet.
This ti, it was not Erika who answered the question but Murphy.
Murphy was the oldest and the most experienced rcenary amongst the group hired by Erika He had already experienced and heard a lot of things, rumors and facts included.
"Well, according to what I heard, Demonic Beasts are just normal beasts that had their mind influenced by a thing called demonic miasma. From what I know, weak beasts were the most vulnerable to this thing but there were cases of high level beasts being influenced by demonic miasma as well."
"As for this demonic miasma, no one truly knows where they co from. However, most speculated that they ca from underground. They appear randomly and beasts who have co in contact or consud this demonic miasma will beco stronger in exchange for their sanity. They will lose their mind and beco crazy and will attack anything around them without caring for the consequences."
"Usually, when rcenaries like us encounter them, we would always do our best to avoid confronting them as not only were they way stronger than normal beasts of the sa grade, there was also little to no value when one killed them. Heck, even their at could only be burned like this or else they might cause other beasts to beco demonized as well," Murphy added as he pointed at the burning corpses of the two demonic beasts.
Erika nodded her head in affirmation to what he said, "He is correct. However, there is actually no concrete evidence about where the demonic miasma was coming from. It could be said that they can appear anywhere and anyti and can influence a beast’s mind whenever they want to. However, a teacher from my school also speculated that demonic miasma must have surely co from a place he terd as hell. As for where hell was located, even he did not know and could only speculate. However, it remains a fact that they were very dangerous."
"In fact, due to this, Demonic Beasts were actually considered as the number one enemy of the whole world. When we et demonic beasts, our teachers actually encourage us to kill them. Perhaps it was due to the double experience points, but it might also be because they are indeed creatures that need to be eliminated due to their nature. If left for long and they gathered together, who knows what kind of calamity they will bring."
hearing such ominous words, everyone could not help but shiver in fright.
A single demonic beast was already hard enough to kill, how much more if they ford into a group?
Looking back at the battle earlier, if Miguel had not anticipated the second demonic beast’s attack, perhaps, all of them would already be dead by now.
Murphy could not help but look at Miguel in appreciation. He was grateful to Miguel for saving his life.
Due to the sudden situation, none of them were in the mood to sleep anymore. To be precise, they could no longer sleep due to overthinking.
They looked at Erika and waited for her decision. After all, this was her mission, and she was the one in-charge on what should be their next course of action.
Previously, everyone believed that this was a safe place. However, after the incident earlier, none of them no longer thought so. Even Miguel thought that this was no longer the safe place that Erika and the others had talked about earlier.
Erika smiled wryly seeing the look on their faces. She pondered for a few seconds before finally arriving at a decision.
"Well, demonized beasts are very rare. I don’t think there will be more after those two-"
Erika suddenly stopped midway as she saw Miguel looking at her weirdly.
"Can I make the decision just this ti?" He asked politely.
This was not because he did not trust her decisions. He just believed that whatever guarantee cos out of her mouth, the opposite would always happen.
Her mouth was definitely a jinx.
Previously, she assured Miguel that there would be no beasts on the road, yet they still t the Gold Grade Beast Wingless Land Fire Dragon. When she said that this place was very safe, two demonic beasts, the epito of danger actually appeared.
Miguel was afraid that she would say sothing unnecessary, so it was better to shut her up for the ti being.
Erika pursed her lips and nodded her head softly. She was not against Miguel making a decision, and with the feats he made earlier, she was confident that the others would not object with him taking over this ti as well.
Miguel nodded his head in appreciation before saying, "I don’t think we should remain in this place. You guys already said that this place was safe and no beast would wander around just like that, however, two demonic beasts still ca. The appearance of the Gold Grade Beast near the public road was also another unexplainable matter."
"With those two incidents as basis, I refuse to believe that there was no deeper reason. Hence, we should not wait passively here and wait for another beast, or even demonic beast to arrive."
"Our best course of action right now is to rush to Red Cliff City. In there, at least we know that they would be safe. In there, we should investigate thoroughly on what is going on before proceeding further."
"What do you guys think?"
Everyone looked at each other before nodding their head.
"I agree with that. I don’t feel safe in this area now as well. Our Wind Horses should have already rested enough as well," Murphy stated as he stood up.
The others voiced their agreent one after the other. Erika has no problem with it either.
The only downside about these actions was that it would be inevitable that they would be tired as hell due to the nonstop journey.
"With that being said, it’s inevitable that we might encounter so beast along the way so everyone must be ready to fight at all tis, understood?"
After the decision was made, everyone imdiately packed their things up. They did not waste any more ti as they proceeded with the journey in the middle of the night.
Miguel also detached one of the Wind Horses from the carriages so that they could scout and light the path ahead.
This ti. Randy volunteered that he would do it.
With the knowledge from his previous life, Miguel beca the coachman of their carriage.
Fortunately, the journey resud without a hitch this ti.
Five hours later, the group stopped on their tracks.
Even though they were in a rush, it was inevitable that they must stop.
A five hour journey was already tiring enough, how much more one fraught with dangers?
The area they were in right now was another popular place for travelers to stop over.
With the previous incident as a basis though, they did not stay in the area for long. They only rested for about thirty minutes as they continued to move forward in a rush.
An hour later, the group finally encountered another unusual situation.
