Chapter 39: So Things Shouldn’t Be Said In Front Of The Boss!

Li Tai shook his head in mild frustration and called to Bai Zhou: “Co in.”
Then, he turned and walked back inside.
As Bai Zhou entered the room, he noticed Zhou Yuntian sitting on a nearby sofa.
Bai Zhou greeted him respectfully: “Mr. Zhou, hello.”
“Ah, hello, hello.” Zhou Yuntian, with his usual Buddha-like smiling face, returned the greeting.
After Bai Zhou closed the door, he walked up to Li Tai’s desk.
“Sit!” Li Tai gestured, and Bai Zhou slowly took a seat.
Without further delay, Li Tai pulled out a black handgun from the drawer and slid it across the desk towards Bai Zhou: “From now on, you’ll be by the side of the young master and the madam. A knife alone won’t be enough.”
Bai Zhou looked at the handgun in front of him, raising his eyebrows slightly.
The gun was fully loaded! If Bai Zhou wanted to assassinate Li Tai right now, he could easily do it, and Li Tai would be dead for sure! Yet, Li Tai pushed the gun towards him without any hesitation. This was a sign of Li Tai’s trust in him, and more importantly, it was done deliberately for Bai Zhou to witness.
Without showing any emotion, Bai Zhou picked up the gun: “Thank you, boss.”
He tucked it into his waistband. Of course, he wouldn’t assassinate Li Tai. Unless he lost his mind—after all, there were so many underlings outside! Besides, Bai Zhou still wanted to continue enjoying the benefits of being under Li Tai’s protection.
Seeing how naturally Bai Zhou handled the gun, Li Tai’s expression didn’t change much. He looked at Bai Zhou with a smile and asked: “Bai Zhou, do you have a girlfriend?”

Since when did Li Tai care about his subordinates’ personal lives?! Could it be that he found out?!

Bai Zhou shook his head and replied: “No.”
Li Tai’s smile deepened as he asked: “What kind of girl do you like?”
