Chapter 40: Are The Daughters Of Wealthy Families Just Tools?

“Brother Tai, you’re not seriously thinking about …” Zhou Yuntian looked at Li Tai with clear surprise in his eyes.

Li Tai, still gazing at the door through which Bai Zhou had just exited, said: “My little girl will be returning to the country soon.”

“Zss—” Zhou Yuntian inhaled sharply.

It was exactly as he had suspected!! Li Tai wanted to introduce his daughter to Bai Zhou! This was undoubtedly a strategy to draw Bai Zhou closer. Indeed, these young won from wealthy families were often pitiful. Simply because they were born into wealthy households, especially where there were male heirs, they beca tools for their fathers to expand their influence!

Not everyone was as fortunate as Mu Qingqing. Mu Qingqing didn’t have any brothers, she was an only child. So, she couldn’t be married off as a tool. But Li Tai and Zhou Yuntian were different! After all, Zhou Yuntian had used his own daughter to solidify ties with the Li family! Although Zhou Yuntian had done the sa, he was still surprised.

Because, while he used his daughter to secure a relationship with the powerful Li family, Li Tai was planning to bind his subordinate?!

If word got out, it would undoubtedly cause an uproar!! Li Tai could easily use his daughter to form alliances with powerful corporations or financial conglorates.

But he didn’t plan to do that. For him, if he was going to use his daughter as a tool, it had to be for maximum benefit! So did this an that Bai Zhou was sohow more valuable than those major corporations and enterprises?

How could that be? What had Bai Zhou done to deserve this?

That’s what Bai Zhou himself would want to know! All he had done was prevent a small problem for the Li family right after crossing into this world, and then he’d bullied a few people using their influence!

He’d been arrogant under the Li family’s banner, but hadn’t really done anything significant for them! If Bai Zhou overheard that Li Tai wanted to introduce his daughter to him, he would definitely curse under his breath: “Is Li Tai a fool?!”

Your wife is practically running away with , and you still want to introduce your daughter to ?! Damn! This is like walking into a spider’s web!!

But little did Bai Zhou know, Li Tai’s decision was entirely based on Zhou Yuntian’s earlier comnt: “He has the shadow of your younger self!”

And more importantly—he had no ambition!

This lack of ambition was what Li Tai valued the most!!

At that mont, Bai Zhou was already sitting on the living room sofa, with Li Yonggang continuously singing his praises.

From the ti he went upstairs to the ti he ca back down, only a few minutes had passed. They’d exchanged a few words, and yet Bai Zhou had been specifically summoned to the study for such a simple matter. Wasn’t this a bit of a waste of ti?

But Bai Zhou didn’t think so!

One reason was that the issue of giving him a gun definitely couldn’t be discussed in front of the won. Another reason was that this signified a rise in Bai Zhou’s status!

While this might not an much to others, to the underlings of the Li family, it ant everything!

As they waited quietly for lunch, Bai Zhou felt a bit uneasy. After all, sitting beside him was Ye Qiantong! What if this crazy woman couldn’t hold herself back?

Fortunately, Ye Qiantong knew how to maintain so boundaries.

At lunch, Zhou Yuntian had already excused himself.

At the square dining table, Li Tai sat at the head, with Bai Zhou directly opposite him. To his left sat Li Ru and Li Yonggang, and to his right was Ye Qiantong.

It was a very small family gathering, and Bai Zhou was seated among them! It was clear that Bai Zhou had successfully infiltrated the “enemy’s” inner circle!

The dishes for lunch were simple, just ordinary ho-cooked food. There was no abalone, lobster, or other luxurious delicacies.

The housekeeper and maids served the al and then left the dining room.

Now, only the five of them remained.

Ye Qiantong, holding her chopsticks, smiled at Bai Zhou and said: “Bai Zhou, make yourself at ho. Treat this as your own place.”

“Heh …” Bai Zhou forced a smile, throwing Ye Qiantong a warning glance.

Li Tai, still smiling, added: “Yes, Bai Zhou, don’t be too formal.”

Not be formal, huh? My dear boss, if I get any more relaxed, the hat* you’re wearing might be stuck to your head without you even knowing!

[*referring to a green hat which ans to be cuckolded.]

Li Yonggang, ever oblivious, continued eating with gusto despite his bandaged “pig head,” shoveling large mouthfuls of food into his mouth through a slit in the bandages.

Li Ru, on the other hand, was as demure as a delicate young lady, occasionally chatting about family matters with her brother Li Tai.

As Bai Zhou nonchalantly reached for more food, his hand suddenly froze.

In the next mont, he raised his head sharply to look at Ye Qiantong, sitting on his right!

He tightened his grip on his chopsticks and bit down hard on the food in his mouth, his gaze filled with warning.

There was no mistake—he clearly felt it. A smooth, soft foot had just slipped into his pant leg! There was no need to guess—it had to be Ye Qiantong.

But her expression was so composed, focused on her al, that her acting almost made Bai Zhou suspect it was Li Ru sitting beside him.

Fortunately, Li Ru was a simple university professor, soone who wouldn’t do such a thing.

“Zss—” Bai Zhou sucked in a breath.

This crazy woman had lifted both of her feet!! Her husband was sitting right across from him, for crying out loud!!

Luckily, Bai Zhou was wearing long pants, preventing Ye Qiantong from pushing things further.

After a while, the warmth of her feet finally disappeared from Bai Zhou’s legs.

Just as Bai Zhou was about to sigh in relief, “Zss—!” Bai Zhou nearly spat out the rice in his mouth.

Damn it, since she couldn’t go further up, she was now pressing her foot against him through his pants?!
