Mana surged across the entire training field as more than fifty cadets rushed forward at the sa ti, their weapons glowing with power while battle cries erupted from every direction like a storm breaking loose.

Blades flashed.

Spears thrust forward.

Arrows of mana shot through the air.

Yet in the middle of that violent tide of steel and energy—

Austin simply laughed, a loud, reckless, completely unhinged laugh that echoed across the academy grounds.

"Hahahahaha!"

"Now this looks like a proper welco ceremony!"

The first cadet reached him with a sword raised high above his head.

"TAKE THIS!"

The blade ca crashing down.

Austin didn’t even move his feet.

He raised one hand lazily.

CLANG!

His bare fingers caught the blade.

The entire field froze.

The cadet stared at the weapon stuck between Austin’s fingers as if his brain had stopped working.

"...What?"

Austin looked at the sword.

Then at the cadet.

Then he flicked it.

CRACK!

The sword shattered in half.

Before the cadet could even scream

Austin slapped him.

BANG!

The cadet’s body spun through the air like a rag doll before crashing into the dirt twenty ters away.

"Hiss...That’s savage."

Another student lunged from behind with a spear.

"DIE!"

Austin tilted his head slightly.

"Too enthusiastic."

He stepped aside casually and grabbed the spear shaft.

Then pulled.

The cadet flew forward helplessly.

Austin greeted him with a knee.

BOOM!

The impact folded the boy like a broken chair and he collapsed instantly.

Three more cadets charged together, one from the front and two from the sides, while mana exploded around them as they attacked simultaneously.

Austin scratched his cheek.

"Hmm."

Then he vanished.

The three attacks collided with each other.

CLANG!

"Wait—!"

"Where did he—"

Austin suddenly appeared behind them.

Then he kicked.

Once.

Twice.

Three tis.

BAM! BAM! BAM!

All three bodies flew across the field like stones fired from a catapult.

The cadets watching from the back began sweating heavily.

"This... this is ridiculous."

"He’s not even using mana!"

"No... he’s just playing with them!"

Another group of cadets charged desperately, five this ti.

One released a wind slash.

Another launched a lightning spear.

A third swung a glowing axe.

Austin looked genuinely impressed.

"Oh?"

"That looks fancy."

The wind slash reached him first.

Austin stepped forward and punched it.

BOOM!

The mana attack exploded apart like shattered glass.

The lightning spear followed.

Austin caught it mid-air.

"Nice stick."

Then he threw it back.

CRASH!

The original caster was blasted off his feet.

The axe wielder roared and swung downward.

Austin grabbed his wrist.

Squeezed.

CRACK!

"Aaaagh!"

Then he used the man as a club.

WHAM!

Two nearby cadets were smashed to the ground.

Within seconds—

Bodies were scattered across the field, groaning, coughing, and covered in dust.

Austin stood in the middle of it all.

Completely untouched.

He looked around.

"Hmm."

"That was disappointing."

Several cadets lying on the ground wanted to cry.

"You monster..."

"He’s not human..."

"He’s a demon..."

Austin stretched his neck lazily.

"Next."

Another cadet rushed him in desperation.

Austin sighed.

"You people really don’t learn."

He stepped forward.

A punch.

BANG!

Another body flew across the field.

The battlefield had turned into pure chaos as students were being thrown, kicked, slapped, and pumled while Austin moved through them like a bored lion inside a cage of chickens, casually humiliating anyone who dared approach.

Within minutes—

Most of the cadets were already on the ground, so groaning, so unconscious, and so staring at the sky questioning their life decisions.

Austin cracked his knuckles.

"Is that it?"

Then—

A heavy sound echoed across the field.

THOOM.

A massive greatsword slamd into the ground.

Dust rose slowly.

A tall cadet stepped forward.

Elderic.

His large fra stood firm while he gripped the massive blade resting on his shoulder.

His eyes were sharp.

His aura was steady.

Unlike the others he hadn’t rushed blindly.

Austin looked at him with interest.

"Oh?"

"A bigger chicken."

Elderic ignored the insult and raised the greatsword slowly while mana surged around him and the ground trembled slightly under the pressure.

"This isn’t a ga," Elderic said calmly.

Austin grinned.

"That’s good."

He pointed at him.

"Because the earlier ones were boring."

Then—

A wave of heat spread across the field.

Flas ignited in the air.

Behind Elderic, another figure stepped forward.

A young woman with crimson hair.

Eleanor.

Her eyes glowed slightly as fire gathered around her hands while small fire spheres floated around her like miniature suns.

Austin blinked.

Then smiled wider.

"Well well."

He rolled his shoulders.

"Finally sothing interesting."

Elderic lifted his greatsword.

Eleanor raised her burning hand.

The battlefield grew silent.

Then Austin laughed again.

"Alright."

He stepped forward slowly.

"Let’s see if you two can entertain longer than the others."

......

anwhile, I went to the side and looked at a boy who seed to be grazing, I an squatting down and chewing grass.

"You aren’t going to fight?"

Reed paused and stared at with a pale expression.

"Relax pal... We are friends, right... Very deep friends... Isn’t it?"

This only made Reed sweat more, but he nodded while swallowing his saliva nervously.

"So you won’t take your chance?"

"I am not an idiot," Reed spoke with a sigh.

"Moreover, this is just the beginning, and I am just at a low level while these are all end-level monsters."

I nodded while grabbing my chin and asked,

"So what do you think?"

"Hm... Everyone is going to be beaten except Elderic and Eleanor. Though they too will be beaten, they will perform better than the others. In fact, Sunta and Theasre would have perford well if you didn’t fuck them up."

"Ohh, them..." I pointed at the two broken bodies.

"They don’t seem strong."

"They are... you just didn’t allow them to showcase their mystic. And I can’t bla you because they are just cocky characters who underestimated you, or else they might have been in a tough fight," Reed spoke.

"Oh... you seem to be a great character analyst."

Reed paused and cast a hurt look.

"Did you forget that I am literally the character developer of the ga?"
