Lanze hung his head low, the ink-blue strands of hair veiling his brows and eyes. Though sunlight filtered in through the greenhouse's glass roof, hitting his back, he felt as if he were plumting into an icy cavern.

His voice beca extrely hoarse, "I rely spoke of what I saw in my foreknowledge. If he truly loved you, how could he leave without considering your feelings? If he really loved you, he wouldn't test your feelings for him!"

He lifted his head, his eyes as red as a rabbit's, and for the first ti, there was sothing other than emptiness in their depths, only that sothing was too complicated.

Lanze fought back tears as he spoke to her with emotion, "Suisui, he doesn't understand how to love soone. His love is too sharp, it will hurt you!"

Qiao Suisui suddenly felt a suffocating pain in her chest, as if she had been betrayed, yet the other person kept on saying they were doing it for her own good. His revelation of his identity indirectly stopped her from going to school, thrust her into the center of public scrutiny, and could even affect her belonging and freedom.

"And what about you?" she looked at him and calmly countered, "You know everything, yet you still chose to draw your sword against ?"

Looking at Lanze before her, she suddenly felt he beca a stranger.

At her words, Lanze's face turned ghostly pale; his lips moved, but he was unable to utter a sound. His fra, like a candle in the wind, wavered, as if hanging by a thread.

"I'm sorry... I'm sorry..." He murmured in a low voice, trying to reach out to her, only to see Qiao Suisui step back, avoiding his touch.

Lanze seed nailed to the spot, his heart torn asunder.

"So what exactly did you see in your foreknowledge?" Qiao Suisui asked.

"Your First Spouse... is the son of the rebel leader. You shouldn't..." He wanted to say she shouldn't get close to him, but recalling how much Qiao Suisui must despise him at that mont, he realized he had no right or standing to say such words. Lanze gave a wry, self-deprecating smile.

"Are you talking about Bi?"

"His real na is Anubis Connor. He will die by chaotic swords, stripped of flesh and bone."

Qiao Suisui's pupils shrank suddenly, her fingertips trembling, she frowned and asked, "Are you certain?"

Lanze nodded, "I saw it in the images, but I don't know the causes or consequences, just so scattered fragnts."

Qiao Suisui struggled to regain her breath, her heartbeat nearly bursting her eardrums, her eyes filled with bewildernt and panic.

She wandered past Lanze and walked out, their shadows crossing. As she passed by him, Lanze shakily reached out to hold her back but only brushed against a ribbon of her dress. The mont the satin texture slipped from his hands, Lanze felt as if all his strength had been drained from him.

He closed his eyes in pain, and the tears he had been holding back spilled down his cheeks.

"Suisui!"

He called out to her but couldn't bring himself to look back.

With a shattered voice, Lanze struggled to ask, "Can we still be friends..."

Qiao Suisui didn't respond, her thoughts were too chaotic. After a brief pause, she stepped away again.

After returning to the palace, she locked herself in, allowing no one to disturb her.

Everything made sense now; Zong Fang's odd behavior that night, and why he had seriously injured Anubis... His pride was too great to say Lanze's prophecy to her face. He simply couldn't do it. Lanze had also calculated this aspect of his personality when he made his move.

But the prophecy about Bi... Every ti Qiao Suisui thought about his fate, she felt like she couldn't breathe. Her hands unconsciously clutched her dress tightly as she murmured to herself, "I must do sothing... there must be sothing I can do to change this..."

She forced herself to stabilize her mind and combed through her thoughts. When she opened her eyes again, the panic had vanished. She first tried to reach Zong Fang but lost her patience with the continuous no-answer tones. She took a team of guards and went directly to the small building by Flying Ship, planning to take the ring and then go to Soter.

Sang Yan heard footsteps coming from the staircase and ca out of the room, indeed seeing Qiao Suisui hurriedly descending the stairs. The two of them, one above on the staircase and one below, suddenly made eye contact. Rembering the awkwardness from the last ti they had hotpot and not having seen each other recently, Suisui suddenly felt a bit estranged.

Sang Yan's gaze traveled up and down her face, he spoke first, "Why have you lost weight?"

Qiao Suisui was taken aback, then answered with so vague noises, not quite sure what to say, and she seed very perfunctory due to her preoccupied mind.

Sang Yan keenly sensed this, but he didn't point it out, only taking two steps back to clear the passage at the staircase. After a mont's thought, out of concern, he asked, "Are you okay? I heard about Zong Fang's situation, do you need any help?"

"What?"

Sang Yan realized she seed unaware and imdiately thought that those two n had not planned to tell her, realizing he had misspoken.

But it was already too late. Qiao Suisui's mind was tightly strung, and she was even more sensitive at that mont. She questioned, "What happened to Zong Fang?"

"He... The Simon family's case has been stirring up quite a storm recently, and now the Federation has issued a notice. He should... be executed soon."

22 lives, even if he was a genius in the scientific community with many contributions, it wasn't enough for the Federation to make an exception for him, especially with the public pressure as intense as it was, there was even greater need to administer justice impartially.

Upon hearing this, Qiao Suisui's legs went weak, and Sang Yan quickly supported her.

"What kind of execution?"

Sang Yan's face showed reluctance as he looked at her pale face, now understanding why the two n chose to hide the truth from her.

"Capital punishnt."

Qiao Suisui closed her eyes, her eyelashes trembling. Sang Yan looked at the frail person in his arms and a hint of self-reproach surfaced on his brow.

"Don't panic, we'll think of a solution together. There's always a way out."

Her palm clenched the ring, and a huge wave surged in the depths of her eyes.

"There is one way," Qiao Suisui said softly.

...

"I disagree."

Late at night.

In the small building, Leberli stood in the living room with a serious expression, speaking sternly to Qiao Suisui for the first ti, "The people were killed by him, and he had considered the consequences when he did it. Besides, it wasn't you who made him do it, so why should you be the one to co forward and clean up his ss now?"

Qiao Suisui calmly looked at him and said, "I am just appearing as a witness to let everyone know the truth that Simon had plotted to assassinate first. At least it might reverse public opinion, and perhaps even save Zong Fang's life."

"Nevertheless, I disagree," Leberli said, turning away in anger.

Ruka had been silent since he entered, but now he spoke calmly, "The principle of the federal court is transparency and openness, all case hearings are broadcast live. Attending to testify ans you will publicize not only your Ancient Human identity but also your appearance and voice. Your future life will be greatly affected; you might not be able to continue school anymore, including restrictions on your personal freedom... Suisui, have you really thought this through?"
