Investing is risky, and Zheng Yichen has just begun by fixing a depot in this world for 1 rit point. If the authorized person in this world dies in an accident, it ans no one would know about the Proxy Agent’s or the Dusk rcenary’s depot in this place.
Moreover, the authorized person in this world doesn’t have any extra authorization rights, and if such a situation occurs, it would an the investnt was in vain.
rit point might not seem like a lot, but acquiring rit points is not easy, and there are always lots of places where rit points are consud continuously.
If such a situation arises, there is still a way to resolve it, which is to co back directly and look for a new investee, but that also costs money. It’s not just cash that is needed, but rit points too. When there’s a mission, one could say it’s a business trip covered by public funds, with no need to spend anything.
Returning is also covered by public funds, but voluntarily wanting to go to a world where one has left a "mark" is a personal matter and does not fall within the scope of public expense reimbursent. This type of rit point consumption is for a round trip ticket. After being spent on the way here, it will not be consud again on the return journey.
The smallest denomination for consuming rit points is 1 point, and any fraction thereof is rounded up.
This is quite inhumane.
It’s just as so Dusk rcenaries say, with enough rit point resources, anything becos very easy to do. Without rit points, one cannot enjoy the many special treatnts of the Dusk Territory.
On the humane side, Katrina and the others, if they want to return to their own world, don’t need to spend any rit points. For them, going back to their world is the sa as going ho. But the problem is they are not Dusk rcenaries; the Dusk Territory does not offer them this treatnt.
Zheng Yichen can take them back... but he has to pay, and that also falls within the scope of personal matters.
"That’s the situation, we’ll et again if it’s ant to be," Zheng Yichen said to the three girls: "If you need anything in the future, you can write a letter. I’ll send so things over."
The three girls looked at the large box in their hands, their expressions sowhat complicated. They had thought it was a farewell, but it turned out to be just a half-farewell? They weren’t sure how Zheng Yichen managed it, but thinking of him as a person of Dusk, he must have paid so price for it.
However, being able to write letters and communicate in the future was not bad. The Dusk Territory wouldn’t grow legs and run away, unless their world was completely destroyed.
In the room he was leaving, Zheng Yichen looked at the closing door and asked Prioress Tia, "By the way, my battle suit was shattered, can it still be repaired?"
To be honest, he was quite fond of that battle suit. Despite the extra burden of wearing it, it was really useful in crucial tis. Without it, he truly might have been killed by the Battle Maniac Asura!
No wonder it took 8 rit points to make that battle suit, but now it’s gone!
Even after solving the Demon Flower problem and earning 9 rit points, when considering the loss of the battle suit and the additional fixed depot cost, overall, he neither gained nor lost, no, he lost a battle suit. Without the corresponding materials, he couldn’t get another suit of the sa kind even with the blueprints.
The money wasn’t lost, but the materials were gone.
"Repair is not creating sothing out of nothing. Would you like to try ’Creation’?"
"How much does it cost?"
"Seventeen rit points plus twenty million."
"...Never mind, never mind," Zheng Yichen’s mouth twitched fiercely. He had just thought that the extra fixed depot was cheap, but ’Creation,’ is it that miraculous?
Tia opened the door, and just as before, Zheng Yichen silently returned to Hazy City. He handed the fishing rod to Tia; although this weapon had not suffered much damage, it had been sowhat affected during the fight with Battle Maniac Asura.
It needed maintenance, which cost eighty thousand.
Terribly expensive.
Hazy City’s Dusk Territory... no, here it is the Dusk Cathedral. Looking at the people in the atrium, Zheng Yichen exhaled, casually found a place to sit down, and began to adapt to the feeling of scene-switching discomfort. Later, once Tia delivered the repaired fishing rod, he would head straight ho to recuperate.
It had been half a month since he dealt with the Demon Flower, his appearance had only aged two additional years, and he was still so distance from fully recovering to his original state.
...
"Are you interested in a part-ti job?"
In the Apocalypse Martial Arts World’s Dusk Territory, a Dusk nun approached Qi Xiangyun, who was reluctant to leave.
"Part-ti job?" Qi Xiangyun looked puzzled at the Dusk nun, whose eyes had the sa hue of Dusk as Zheng Yichen’s, except the Dusk color in Zheng Yichen’s eyes required extra attention to see clearly.
The Dusk nun’s eyes simply had that color naturally.
"A part-ti job as a Dusk rcenary," the Dusk nun said. The age of the native inhabitants of the original world wasn’t within her consideration.
As long as one has the adaptability to anomalies, suitable talent conditions, and the ability to co to the Dusk Territory, even if Qi Xiangyun and the others were a few years younger, she would still co to ’recruit’ them.
"Is it like what Brother Chang Qing does?" Lin Yaoyao’s eyes imdiately lit up.
"He is a Proxy Agent, not a Dusk rcenary."
"...Is there any difference between the two?" Liu Hongzhao asked, her heart stirred, doubly so. She had once suspected Zheng Yichen of being so evil fiend in human skin, but later it beca clear that it was purely her own overthinking, a aningless suspicion.
She wanted to give Zheng Yichen additional recompense, but Zheng Yichen always took care of them like children, thinking of ways to help them as much as possible before and when leaving. She was deeply moved by such a Zheng Yichen—but regretted their separation.
"Dusk rcenaries are freer, whereas Proxy Agents bear ’sins’. Their freedom to choose is very limited." The Dusk nun didn’t keep them in suspense, as it wasn’t sothing that required deliberate concealnt.
"Sins?" Lin Yaoyao’s eyes widened. She couldn’t associate Zheng Yichen with that word, even though he had kicked the gates of those collapsed sects with gusto when they were together, but those places were ownerless already.
"What do Dusk rcenaries have to do?" Liu Hongzhao continued to inquire, indifferent to the burden of sin.
"They deal with beings that impact the world as a whole."
Qi Xiangyun, thinking of sothing, hurriedly asked, "Does that an there are Demon Flowers in our world because soone is deliberately sabotaging it?"
Her expression grew complicated. Zheng Yichen hadn’t said much to them about this... If that was the case, her enemies were not only the Supre Demon; the real culprits were the ones who planted the Demon Flowers and caused the sabotage. If there were no such people, wouldn’t the Supre Demon be less active?
"That’s correct."
"I agree!" Liu Hongzhao said impulsively, her eyes flashing with crimson malice. Zheng Yichen had never much discussed such matters with them, but now that she knew, the Supre Demon was no longer her primary enemy. She would still find an opportunity to settle scores with the Supre Demon in the future.
But she wouldn’t let any of those true culprits off the hook!
As for Zheng Yichen not telling them about these matters, it was probably to avoid them eting such enemies. She couldn’t imagine how much support a being with the power to affect the entire world would have, but she no longer wanted to play ostrich.
Moreover, as a Proxy Agent, Zheng Yichen had to confront such enemies; perhaps by doing the sa, she could lighten his load?
"What about you two?" the Dusk nun looked towards the other two girls.
"Um, if I beco a Dusk rcenary, can I see Brother Chang Qing in the future?"
"You can." The Dusk nun gave a definite answer: "He has set his sanctuary to be fixed in this world, and through this connection, you will be able to find him later."
In this regard, Dusk has always been very free.
"Uh?" Inside the Dusk Cathedral, Zheng Yichen, who was drowsy, sensed soone approaching. His eyes snapped open. It wasn’t Prioress Tia but a familiar figure, Hunter Arno.
The man looked at the younger, long-haired version of Zheng Yichen with so puzzlent: "Are you really Chang Qing? Did you encounter the Fountain of Youth?"
Seeing the excessively young Zheng Yichen, Arno imdiately thought of items that could make one younger, but none of those were known to affect one’s strength to such a degree.
Now Zheng Yichen doesn’t even look sixteen.
"It’s , what happened to you?"
Arno was shocked, and so was Zheng Yichen. After so ti without seeing each other, this Dusk rcenary had an empty space where his left arm used to be, and there was still a residual sll of blood on his body, suggesting he had returned not long ago.
"Isn’t this quite normal?" Arno laughed and sat down: "Dusk rcenaries are human too; we always encounter so more troubleso enemies. It’s already good to be alive and back."
"Such injuries are nothing here at the Dusk Cathedral. If we can et tomorrow, we can play cards together." Arno wasn’t concerned about his injury; it was just an arm, after all—a trifle. In a normal area, he would have to make do with a prosthetic limb instead.
Recovery isn’t difficult here at Dusk; the key is to make it back alive. If one is dead, then there’s not much that can be done, as a corpse can’t receive treatnt.
"Not tomorrow, I still have so things to handle, plus I need to take care of my body." Zheng Yichen glanced at his much smaller palms and said sowhat helplessly.
"Take care of your body? Have you been hit with so kind of curse?" Arno grew even more astonished. He had heard of curses that could age people, but this kind that made one overly young—was that even a curse? More like a blessing!
"It’s not exactly a curse, more like a price." Zheng Yichen had asked Tia if his condition could be treated, and her response was that his physical functions were very good, not a single problem to be found anywhere.
He needed no treatnt; all he had to do was to go back, eat well, drink well, and sleep a lot to grow back.
Arno nodded and didn’t pursue the matter further. Since Zheng Yichen didn’t elaborate, it must involve so privacy. He stood up: "I’ll go first; maybe we can share our gains so ti later?"
"Of course," Zheng Yichen agreed.
Arno didn’t leave the Dusk Cathedral but went to search for a Dusk nun in the Cathedral, probably to treat his severed arm. Zheng Yichen was curious about the process.
