The world is only so vast, and environntal adjustnt limits the maximum combat power of individuals. If there truly are supre demons in this world, then once this world gets assimilated into the Boundary Breaking Faction’s world, the environnt will undergo assimilation, and naturally, the gods and demons within it will reap greater benefits.
They would beco more powerful.
"The Proxy Agent has already arrived, and all we need to do now is wait for the other party’s ssage. Perhaps in a couple of days, the skies will clear up," the Dusk rcenary comforted the young knight-errant beside him. After distributing the supplies, he approached a notice board that only Dusk rcenaries could see—displaying information ant for their eyes only.
It was a rather extraordinary feature of the Dusk Cathedral, which otherwise looked ordinary most of the ti.
Just as he had thought, their original mission had changed. The previous mission they had attempted to stop had failed, but they didn’t slack off or give up. Quite a few people died in the fierce battle, so the impact of this mission failure wasn’t too significant. It would only an that it would beco sowhat more difficult to earn rit points later on.
Whether it’s the Proxy Agents or Dusk rcenaries, everyone needed rit points, which were hard to co by. Yet, having enough rit points ant that they would have the opportunity to obtain anything they desired.
A Divine weapon? If you have enough rit points, you can spend so money at the Dusk Cathedral to have one crafted directly, such as Divine Artifacts from so worlds. No matter how powerful an object was, it could be used as a material in the crafting process to create a weapon or equipnt to one’s spec.
If the materials were plentiful, one could even produce very special dicines or even create elixirs.
But all of that required rit points... money was sowhat less important. Many Dusk rcenaries dread of saving up to exclusively bind Divine Armor to themselves, stacking up their strengths and then settling in a high-environnt world to live a life of freedom.
"Eh? This kind of adjustnt? This is good news!" The Dusk rcenary was pleasantly surprised as he looked at the mission adjustnt on the notice board. The arrival of Proxy Agents was usually unwelco because after they appeared, mission adjustnts could end up binding to their actions.
It reduced the flexibility for independent action and increased the likelihood of accidents. But the current adjustnt wasn’t tied to the Proxy Agents’ actions; it still allowed for substantial freedom. They had many choices, including the option to withdraw which could be disregarded. Opting for safety by choosing this would be simple, but the difficulty of obtaining rit points later on would increase—a difficulty that wouldn’t just decrease over ti.
It would co down to the number and quality of their sorties to decrease it. Other than withdrawing, the remaining options included targeting mbers of the Boundary Breaking Faction, clearing the roots of that flower, and eliminating so genuine Alien Phenonon creatures. On the other hand, Aberrant creatures affected by the flower weren’t on any of the commission lists.
All the missions revolved around trying to topple the forces that were undermining the system, while those Aberrant creatures were rely pollutants on the plate. If they could solve the root problem causing the system’s destabilization, then the only remaining harm from those Aberrant creatures would be to the native life forms.
"Dealing with Alien Phenonon creatures, huh? These missions are sowhat more manageable." The Dusk rcenary set his sights on one of the listings. The number of tasks was neither too many nor too few, and so required teaming up to handle.
There was no great need to confront the Boundary Breakers now. Many Alien Phenonon creatures were not sentient beings and tended to be easier to handle, whereas the Boundary Breakers were the people from the Boundary Breaking Faction. Their combat capabilities might not be as troubleso as those of the Alien Phenonon creatures.
But as sentient beings, sotis battling isn’t just about strength but also intellect. With the Proxy Agents around, let them handle such entities. It was better for them to deal with the Alien Phenonon creatures which were not only easier to defeat but could also yield additional rewards.
Many Alien Phenonon creatures, once enraged, disturbed the surrounding environnt, dragging in unknown entities. The reason for this behavior lies in the very nature of Alien Phenonon creatures as disruptors of world barriers. Disturbing the barriers between this world and another creates a twist.
This twist is like a sound wave. Although only two people might be speaking, if their voices are loud enough, the people around will hear them too.
...
"Cough cough, what is this stuff?" Zheng Yichen coughed lightly twice, feeling discomfort in his throat and seed to spit out a clot that appeared to be congealed blood, as if it had been ejected from his lungs.
Before leaving the house, he specifically asked Tia if he would be affected by the red fog. Tia had told him that if he were susceptible, he wouldn’t be the person coming here.
Since he wasn’t affected, Zheng Yichen didn’t bother with any extra protective asures. After checking his equipnt and taking what he needed, he left the Dusk Cathedral. He rode his newly acquired motorcycle a bit too fast, gulping down the wind along the way.
This led to the current situation, feeling a slight unease in his lungs and throat before he spit out this substance.
One thing was certain: this thing wasn’t blood. If it were blood, then it would likely have been absorbed by his extraordinary abilities.
Picking up a stick from the ground, he poked at the ’blood clot’ that had begun to dissolve upon hitting the ground. It resembled more a dead insect?
"That’s really disgusting," Zheng Yichen said as he looked at the red layer on the ground, resembling willow catkins that covered the earth. When walking on it, the airflow stirred up a dense cloud of red filants. He tapped the fishing rod in his hand on the ground, and a greenish fla ford a ring that spread outward.
The red ’filants’ that ca into contact with the hellfire were completely incinerated without producing any additional red mist. Zheng Yichen thought for a mont, snapped his fingers, and a ball of fla appeared on his fingertip, a fire type magic he had learned from the fire dragon.
He had absorbed the blood of a fire dragon. While he did not beco dragon-like, he had acquired so characteristics of a fire dragon, like resistance to fire and affinity for fire-type magic. Learning magic required talent and ti. He lacked ti, but he was still capable of casting so simple fire-type spells.
Lighting a cigarette or cooking a al wasn’t too challenging.
The fla that hit the ground quickly ignited a patch of red filants, which burned into a red mist. Zheng Yichen raised an eyebrow; a regular fla turned this substance into red mist when burned, while the hellfire completely eradicated it.
What was the difference between the two?
Zheng Yichen looked at the wisp of pale green fla, like a candle’s fla, emanating from the tip of the fishing rod and then glanced at the normal fla in his other hand.
If one were to talk about the difference, aside from the color, hellfire not only physically scorches but also burns life force, whereas ordinary flas just burn things.
So, were these red filants alive? Or did they possess vitality? Normal flas burned the red filants but couldn’t destroy the contained vitality, turning into red mist, while hellfire burned everything completely, eliminating both the material aspect and the vital essence.
In that case... Zheng Yichen patted the motorcycle he was sitting on: "Forget it, I should take care of my new bike."
He wanted to cosplay as the Evil Spirit knight, letting hellfire cling to the surface of the bike and then speeding away. However, hellfire was a power associated with the fishing rod, not a power he possessed inherently. He’d be heartbroken if he damaged the bike.
He didn’t entertain the thought for long when a harsh, hoarse roar ca from a distance. Nurous figures with eyes glowing red in the dim environnt appeared, from various creatures, mostly humanoid, although their twisted and distorted bodies could no longer be called human.
As these extraordinary creatures surrounded him, a faint mist erged, and within it, one could vaguely see abnormal sights.
A moving anomaly, huh... Seeing the anomaly ans you’re still okay; it indicates you haven’t entered the anomaly’s interior. Once you can’t see those abnormal sights, it’s as if you’re inside the anomaly itself. Zheng Yichen swung the fishing rod, hooking a wild wolf, and blood flowed from the injured wolf.
The blood contained flowing substances like the red filants. They were not like zombies filled with putrid blood; these creatures were mad, but their bodies retained enough vitality, and their blood was ’normal,’ albeit mutated.
They were essentially still living creatures.
"Worse than zombies..." The fishing rod that hooked the wild wolf was covered with a layer of black material, and the struggling wolf’s body withered as it absorbed the aberrant creature’s blood affected by the red filants. The black spear’s absorption wasn’t about directly ingesting the blood. It had no impact on him unless the blood had utterly deteriorated due to so toxin, but the blood from creatures affected by the red filants hadn’t undergone such necrotic deterioration, so it didn’t induce that nauseating sensation of wanting to vomit.
The gathering of aberrant creatures intensified, and the surrounding mist rged into one. Zheng Yichen felt a slight pressure, but his body did not exhibit any environntal adjustnt changes; it remained the sa as before. However, the presence of that pressure implied the anomaly’s effectiveness.
Without adaptability, being surrounded ant certain death, and though it appeared agonizing to others, the person involved probably wouldn’t feel much.
The teeming horde of aberrant creatures howled at Zheng Yichen. Without any rhythm, they charged at him. The creatures, mutated by the influence of red filants, displayed enhanced strength and speed, ignored pain, and attacked recklessly. So even exhibited extraordinary abilities.
While their thods of attack were rather simplistic, they could still be troubleso in large numbers.
Swirling the black spear, the pale green flas spread with a fierce wind, forming a fire tornado that enveloped the incoming aberrant creatures. The red filants drifting in the air and the aberrant creatures were all consud by the flas and reduced to ash.
This world belonged to a kind that had escaped a low environnt. In such a world, his power was imnse. Facing the rank-and-file enemies was like slashing through weeds in a video ga. Their role was to delay and increase his exhaustion.
