Chapter 1967: Chapter 1961: Chance Encounter

“So it seems that looking younger has its advantages too…”

“Boss, are you suggesting that since you’ve beco youthful, sister Xia and the teacher ow have been seeking you out more often?”

“…I an, even when walking the streets of this Ancient city, they wouldn’t recognize . Who would associate a sixteen-year-old boy with a ritorious General?”

“Not denying what I said, ow? They’re really like that? So envious… cough, so extravagant… ouch, ouch, ouch! Boss, let go of ! The cat won’t act up again!”

Lu Ping’an let go of the shaless cat, but didn’t expect her to behave for long.

But the next mont, two balls were pressing on his head, the much more mature ow, exclaiming over one familiar yet unfamiliar building after another.

“ow’s seafood buffet is gone, surely those aliens ate it to bankruptcy, ow!”

And right off the bat, this guy was already quite politically incorrect.

“So many aliens, ow… they look delicious, walking lobsters, ow.”

“Damn! The Ghostfire kid! No need to play Flying Boat in the city, ow!”

“I’m hungry… Boss, treat to a al, ow!”

For the busy Lu, taking ow for a walk like in the old days hadn’t been done for a long ti.

Now, back on familiar yet changed streets, with familiar friends who have also changed a lot, ow was a bit too excited.

She climbed all over soone, sotis pointing at this, sotis grabbing that, like a sixteen-year-old kid… but back then at sixteen, she lived quite restrained.

But from another perspective, maturity often cos through experience, especially hardship… ow growing younger, clearly sothing her keeper did.

Now, her keeper was also happily observing the busy and even chaotic neighborhood.

Unlike the old city that seed unchanged for thirty years, now the city was a lting pot of east, west, south, and alien styles, with pedestrians rushing, looking quite spirited.

This city, due to the Trading Land and a large presence of Extraordinary beings, did not suffer destructive blows during the War. Instead, with nurous orders and the military-industrial sector, it seized the opportunity to soar.

Now, the city was just announced as an economic special zone and tax-free interstellar port, bringing in another wave of world-class investnt, naturally leading all industries into rapid developnt, at a ti when employnt was maximized.

Perhaps, even without Lu Ping’an doing anything, his goal of raising the average citizen’s salary by two thousand would naturally happen due to policy and financial support.

“Prices have risen too…”

Lu Ping’an walked into a small supermarket, glanced over the shelves, and confird that the price hike on living goods was also quite noticeable.

“Let Fei’er pay attention…”

“Crown Prince” Fei’er had also been sent to the Ancient city, starting to secretly take over the city’s governnt affairs.

She set up a secretariat locally, becoming the shadow governnt of the local Official, starting to gradually take over various administrative work.

Most importantly, it was always about industrial planning and the developnt of new industries, but having just taken over, there were too many things to do.

“Price hikes… quite normal, we’re a special zone.”

“Overall up by 23%, maybe soone is being naughty (speculating), this kind of unnatural rise before wages go up will bring instability.”

“…Okay, I’ll have the pricing departnt prepare a report and start a formal investigation.”

That’s about as far as the conversation needed to go. If it didn’t involve grassroots livelihood, Lu Ping’an probably wouldn’t bother with these “small things.”

As a big boss, in so sense, the less he does, the better.

Random ddling not only undermines trust in departnt leaders but can easily damage their authority, and more so, cause confusion among grassroots Executors.

So Fei’er received the request and didn’t execute straight away, instead going through the pricing departnt’s procedures, confirming outside interference before proceeding with “comrcial penalties.”

During transformation periods, Speculators are inevitable, but how to deal with them depends on individual capabilities.

Lu Ping’an said nothing further. He had confidence in Fei’er and her team of several High-Tier Scholars forming a secretariat akin to a supercomputer. He just reminded them of the priority of “public welfare.”

This wasn’t just personal preference, but because during transitions, ambitious individuals would seize every opportunity to incite trouble, really creating a few hot-button issues would make things hard to handle.

Lu Ping’an was still pondering… when a big face suddenly hung upside down in front of him.

“ow! Let’s eat, ow!”

Lu couldn’t help but chuckle, setting aside pointless thoughts, continued to walk his cat.

At this mont, the two should have been rather conspicuous, a Blind Eyes youth, who should clearly be a high schooler in a school uniform, yet possessing a maturity beyond an adult, and on the other side, a Big Cat… um, that’s a noun rather than a description.

Compared to the past, ti hadn’t left many marks on ow, a more mature body as expected, and the cat’s supple form even left her with little sense of it.

“Stop worrying, ow, you’ll lose hair, ow!”

The cat wasn’t dumb, just too lazy to think.

The person being dragged along by the cat also seldom put down many thoughts, playing as if like his appearance.

And the reason this duo wasn’t conspicuous was that there were too many “aliens” on this street, making the obviously human-born duo seem too normal.

What Lu found intriguing was that among the shops he passed along the way, most workers, errand-runners, and movers were aliens… utilizing cheap foreign labor is one of the economic benefits of a “developed nation,” but to this extent, isn’t it sowhat affecting local employnt and economic norms….

“Slap!”

Directly scratched by the cat, Lu Ping’an wore an apologetic smile.

He said he “wouldn’t think about work, would focus on playing for a few days,” but evidently, achieving such focus was rather too difficult.

“Lu Ping’an?!”

And at this mont, an unexpected voice made Lu pause.

It felt familiar, he tried to rember, but had no clue… for Lu, who had achieved never forgetting, it was quite odd; this could only an… it was an acquaintance from before he beca an Extraordinary?

“It’s , Zhao Xinxin, don’t you rember?”

“Uh, Class Leader Zhao?”

Appearing in front of Lu was a mature woman, or rather, a young married woman.

Though she should be at least in her thirties, she looked fair-skinned and beautiful, well-maintained, her office lady outfit quite stylish.

“It really is you, how co you look just like back then, reverse aging or what… Oh, I heard you beca an Extraordinary…”

Returning to the looks of the past, yet eting his old classmates, Lu increasingly sensed the subtlety of destiny.
