"You eat this all day."

He sat across from her, picked up the sandwich, and seed a bit disdainful.

"There’s nothing good to eat at ho," not even instant noodles, "let’s just make do for lunch and eat sothing nice out tonight, hmm?"

The man reluctantly agreed.

Daisy quickly finished her lunch and saw the man slowly sitting in the dining room drinking coffee. As she put on her coat, she asked him, "Are you really not leaving today?"

The man was calm and composed.

"Not leaving."

"What about your work?"

"I’ll use your computer."

"Do you know the password?"

"I do."

"?" Since when did he know? Never mind, Daisy walked over and kissed him on the face, "I’ll co back early from work, so we can go out for a fine dinner."

The man looked up, glanced at her a few tis, and tapped her lips, "Kiss here."

Daisy hesitated for a few seconds, then leaned down to kiss his lips, unable to help but laugh, "Alright, I really have to go now."

The man’s eyes also revealed a bit of laughter, rare tenderness; both were very nostalgic and enjoyed it. Daisy delayed for a while, talked to him for a mont, and then reluctantly left.

Actually, having soone at ho waiting for her felt quite nice.

But the single apartnt is too small, maybe find so ti to switch to a bigger one.

On the way, when this thought popped up, it startled Daisy.

If they had a future...

She lowered her eyes, feeling an unknown thrill.

Edward Stephens finished lunch and lazily basked in the sun in the living room for a while, then casually checked Daisy’s entire apartnt.

Incidentally, he found the engagent ring hidden in Daisy’s dressing cabinet.

The engagent ring was personally crafted by a jeweler at his request back then, with "JJ"—Daisy Ginger—engraved on the inner band.

One of a kind in the world.

He lay on the sofa, playing with the ring in the sunlight.

He rembered when Daisy signed the divorce papers, the lawyer told him Daisy said she couldn’t find the ring and was willing to mortgage the Banyan City villa worth billions instead.

And now, he found the ring in her apartnt’s dressing table, the one she claid to have lost.

Back then, to leave him, she didn’t hesitate to collaborate with Charlotte Smith, drugging him to force a divorce.

It was the most complex ti in their relationship, and also when she was most ruthless.

Then why, during such a heartless ti, did she keep the wedding ring he gave her, preferring to give him the villa rather than return the ring?

Back then, didn’t she stop loving him?

Under the clear, transparent sunlight, the man’s eyes were profound.

He lazily leaned against the back of the sofa, the diamond’s cut refracted a brilliant play of light on his fair fingertips, like sparks of iridescence.

This ring seed like a small key, opening Daisy’s tightly closed heart from four years ago.

But if she really couldn’t let go back then, then why drug him, why agree to Robert Stephens’ plan?

He lowered his eyes, staring at the ring intently for a long ti, the depth in his eyes deepening.

At four in the afternoon, Daisy called, saying she’d co back early tonight and told him to change and wait for her at ho.

At six in the evening, Daisy did not return.

At eight, Edward Stephens received a call from the police station.
