Chapter 87- Checkmate, Little One

Logan's POV

I stared at Naomi for a long second before I burst into laughter. A deep, mocking laugh that filled the classroom.

The sound alone sent her spiraling.

Her whole body tensed as she stood there, her face burning with anger. I could see the way her fingers twitched, struggling to keep herself together. But ? I was having the ti of my life.

"What the hell is funny?" she snapped, her voice shaking with frustration.

I smirked, leaning back in my chair like I had all the ti in the world. "Your stupidity, Naomi," I said, shaking my head. "It's honestly hilarious. Like, your level of dumbness? It's a fucking cody to ."

Her eyes darkened with rage. "You won't be laughing when the whole school finds out who you really are."

I let out another chuckle. "You really think you have sothing on ?"

She straightened her back, trying to look intimidating. It was pathetic, really.

"Before you take another step," I said, my voice turning cold, "I have a question for you."

I leaned forward, resting my elbows on my desk as I stared straight into her eyes.

"Who the fuck do you even think you are?"

Her throat bobbed as she swallowed, but she held her ground.

"I gave you the platform to talk, Naomi. That doesn't an I don't know what I'm doing." I tilted my head, my smirk deepening. "You should ask the whole damn school who Logan is. Just one snap of my fingers—" I snapped my fingers right in front of her face, making her flinch. "And boom. Your life? Destroyed."

I could see the panic creeping into her eyes now.

"I stay quiet, and people assu I'm weak," I continued. "But let tell you sothing—being quiet doesn't an being dumb. If you had even a single working brain cell in that empty skull of yours, you'd pick up your pathetic little pieces and run far away from ." My eyes darkened. "Because right now? Just looking at you is pissing off. And the more I look at you, the more I want to make your life a living hell."

She inhaled sharply, her nails digging into her palms.

"Tyler has been trying to save you," I said, shaking my head in mock pity. "He's been begging not to deal with you. But you? You keep throwing yourself straight into my trap. No—you're gripping onto it like an idiot and refusing to let go." I arched a brow. "Are you really that stupid?"

She swallowed hard, fear flickering in her expression, but she still dared to open her mouth.

"You think I'll just stand here and let you make my life miserable?" she said, her voice trembling. "I'll ruin yours first. I'll tell everyone who you really are... what your sexuality is."

I blinked once. Then, slowly, I let out another laugh—louder, crueler.

"Naomi," I sighed, shaking my head. "What proof do you even have?"

She hesitated.

"One thing about life, Naomi—proof is everything." I leaned back in my chair, stretching lazily. "And even if you had proof? I could still turn everything on you. I could make sure no one believes a single word you say. And then?" I smirked. "Your life? Shattered."

Her lips parted slightly, but no words ca out.

"And also," I continued, my voice turning sharp, "I have a real question for you."

I let the silence drag before speaking again.

"Is loving a guy even a bad thing?"

She frowned, caught off guard.

I let out a humorless chuckle. "Why do people in this world act like it's so kind of cri? Like it's a fucking scandal if a guy falls for another guy? Why is it such a big deal?"

She had no answer.

"There's nothing wrong with it, Naomi," I said, my voice firm now. "People love who they love. But you? You're too damn ignorant to understand that. Instead, you think using it against will make scared?" I laughed again, shaking my head. "God, you're dumber than I thought."

Her face twisted with anger. "I'm not dumb," she spat. "And I don't care what you say, Logan. My goal is to make your life miserable."

I scoffed. "And you think that's possible?"

She smirked, thinking she had cornered. "Oh, it's not going to be quick, Logan. But it will happen."

I chuckled darkly, shaking my head. "That's where you're wrong, little one." I leaned in again, my voice dropping into a whisper.

"See, it might take you ti to make my life miserable. But ?" I snapped my fingers. "I can ruin yours in seconds. And the best part?" I grinned. "Your family will bla you for every single thing. Every. Fucking. Second. They'll say, 'If only you had shut up, if only you had kept your findings to yourself, none of this would've happened.' And you know what? They'd be right."

Her eyes widened.

That fear—I saw it, and I fed off it. That was the whole point. I wanted her to understand exactly who she was dealing with. Because if she ever crossed my path again? I wouldn't just put fear into her. I'd make her experience every single ounce of it.

She opened her mouth again, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. "They won't hate ," she whispered. "They won't bla when they find out I was fighting for love."

I let out a sharp laugh. "Imagine them being proud of you, Naomi." I tilted my head mockingly. "Imagine them cheering you on, thinking you're so hero. And then imagine losing the fight anyway."

Her breath hitched.

"What a dumb move," I said, shaking my head.

"I love Tyler," she hissed. "And I would do anything to make him happy."

I smirked. "Imagine all these theatrics for a fake relationship." I arched a brow. "Or did you think I didn't know?"

Her lips parted in shock.

I let out another chuckle. "You thought you were fooling ?" I leaned back in my seat, pure amusent running through . "Naomi, I didn't hear it from gossip. I didn't hear it from back talk." My grin widened. "I heard it from the horse's mouth."

Her face drained of color.

"That's right," I said, enjoying every second of her panic. "Tyler told everything. About how you were the one who suggested you two date. About how you were the one taking it too seriously, pretending it was real."

She opened her mouth, then closed it.

"No more pretending, Naomi," I said smoothly. "It's ti to stop this little act and focus on sothing more useful—like your grades." I smirked. "Because, honestly? You suck at every damn subject."

Her face turned red, but she had no coback.

"All this effort," I mused, shaking my head. "And it still won't make Tyler choose you."

Tears welled up in the corners of her eyes. "All this won't make him choose you either."

I grinned. "Oh, Naomi." I leaned in slightly, lowering my voice into sothing soft... but deadly.

"It's too late."

She stiffened.

"He already chose ."

Her breath caught in her throat.

"I an, co on," I said with a casual shrug. "Who wouldn't choose ?"

Naomi just stood there, shaking, completely speechless.

And then, right on cue—

Tyler walked in.

He stopped in front of my desk, his brows furrowing. "Logan, what's going on? Why is Naomi standing here looking like that?"

I smirked, tilting my head at Naomi before turning my attention to him.

"I don't know, baby," I said smoothly. "Maybe she's just mad because I told her how sweet you are in bed. And how you moan my na like a little slut."
