Ch.19 Do you want

to handle it personally?

Clang—

The silver-gray longsword slashed a brilliant sword beam through the black mist, cleanly severing the surging black limb.

The chestnut-haired, golden-eyed girl moved with agility. Even in the obscured environnt, she could precisely predict her enemies’ attack trajectories through her far superior transcendent perception.

“Hah!”

Anya twisted her slender waist, narrowly dodging the black keratinous bone spike thrusting from behind.

“Starfall Sword Art, Third Form: Splitting Light!”

Not giving her rear enemy ti to react, the girl twisted her longsword. The silver sword beam followed her movent, instantly transforming from an arc into a straight line, accurately piercing the joint uncovered by black keratin.

The girl severed the bone spike joint with one sword stroke, simultaneously aiming and kicking.

Hiss—

The ownerless bone spike, used as a flying blade, precisely impaled another Abyss cultist lurking to the side for a sneak attack.

“Roar—”

However, the Abyss cultist, whose body was already over half-covered in black, could no longer feel pain. Even with the bone spike embedded in his ribs, he continued his assault unabated.

“What!?”

A flicker of surprise flashed in her beautiful golden eyes. The girl forcibly aborted her original offensive stance, unable to dodge in ti, and hastily crossed her silver-gray longsword before her, barely blocking the powerful impact.

“Damn it! Don’t these guys care about their lives at all?”

Anya was sowhat disheveled at this point. Her hair tie had broken at so unknown mont, causing her previously tied high ponytail to fall loose. Her top was slightly torn, the absolute territory between her shorts and over-the-knee black socks was dust-stained, and even her pretty face bore a faint bloodline.

Anya stared at the four Abyss cultists—who had already lost their sanity—surrounding her, her expression gradually growing grave.

Although she was peak Tier One and should have faced no pressure against these four opponents of the sa tier, she didn’t know what madness had possessed them—the blackness on their bodies had suddenly spread to cover more than half their bodies, drastically increasing their power and making them difficult to handle.

Coupled with their reckless, life-disregarding fighting style…

“Could it be that I have to use that move?”

Just as Anya resolved to unleash her trump card, Luo Nan’s voice pierced through the black mist, reaching her ears:

“Miss Anya, get ready—the Purifying Light is coming!”

Hearing that slightly excited voice, the girl clicked her tongue, exerted force with her legs, and rapidly retreated.

Anya saw only a light that instantly flooded the entire room.

The pure white Purifying Light dispelled the black mist, restoring a clear world for Anya.

“Ahh…”

“Grrr…”

But the Abyss cultists fared poorly. Under the illumination of the Purifying Light, the blackness on their bodies rapidly evaporated, and the flesh beneath withered and cracked extensively.

“No wonder the Church-produced Purifying Light is truly the bane of the Abyss.”

As the black mist dissipated, Anya saw Luo Nan walking toward her from the other end of the room. His clothes were neat, and his face still bore an expression of lingering excitent, as if he had just experienced so thrilling great battle.

“What are you staring at? Go finish them off!”

Seeing Anya turn to stare at him, Luo Nan urged.

“No need to tell !”

The girl lightly scoffed, grabbed her silver-gray longsword, swiftly stepped forward, and precisely ended the heartbeats of the four Abyss cultists on the ground.

“May the Goddess forgive your sins.”

Gazing at the four now-silent Abyss cultists, Luo Nan solemnly mimicked a Goddess believer, left hand over his chest, right fingertips lightly touching his forehead, performing the ‘Rite of Passage’ for them.

‘My fault, my fault—the wicked, moneyed playboy used cash power to wipe out the devout Abyss cultists in one fell swoop, utterly disregarding whatever unavoidable reasons they might have had…’

‘No, wait—I’m a villain, but didn’t these guys try to kill

first? I was forced to retaliate, right?’

‘Damn, I almost got misled by my own identity. What I’m doing is righteous!’

With this thought, Luo Nan instantly felt ntally clear and proudly puffed out his chest.

“Hey, Luo Nan… are you alright?”

Compared to the neatly dressed Luo Nan, Anya Sivans at this mont looked sowhat disheveled. Her fitted top and over-the-knee black socks were slightly torn, revealing the soft, pinkish skin beneath. Her plump, fair thighs were dust-stained.

Even her chestnut hair, originally tied in a high ponytail, had completely fallen loose around her shoulders. The wound on her face had already healed but still left a faint blood trace, adding a unique beauty to her pretty features.

The girl carefully examined the handso black-haired youth before her. His body showed no signs of combat, not even a speck of dust on his trouser cuffs.

Anya also noticed that the black-ard man who had initially tried to attack Luo Nan looked far worse than the other four.

He was completely shattered and broken, like a rag!

“How could this guy, who isn’t even a Transcendent, defeat a martial Transcendent of the sa tier as ?”

Anya was filled with confusion, her lively golden eyes flashing with incomprehension.

“How did you defeat him?”

The girl extended her slender, jade-like finger, pointing at the nearly unrecognizable man on the ground, asking.

“Naturally, this guy underestimated , thinking I was just an ordinary person, rambling on about ‘you don’t understand ’—he was completely lost in his own world and didn’t even notice

activating the Purifying Light.”

Luo Nan shrugged, casually responding.

Before using the second Purifying Light crystal, he had already decided not to reveal to ‘Chosen Hero’ Anya Sivans that he was already a Transcendent.

After all, in the original ‘Flash Tracks’ storyline, he only beca a Transcendent after truly defecting to the demons. Before that, he always interacted with the heroines under the identity of an ‘ordinary person’.

In other words, he should avoid letting the heroines know he was already a Transcendent, to prevent unexpected plot deviations.

At least don’t let them know before enrollnt.

“Is… is that so?”

“Never mind that for now. Anya Sivans, I think your bodyguard work is severely inadequate!”

“Huh?”

Luo Nan turned around solemnly. “Not to ntion you didn’t notice the environntal sealing magic they prepared in advance, but you even let

face these dangerous guys alone afterward…”

At this, Luo Nan took a deep breath. “If not for my brilliant wisdom and seizing the opportunity to defeat that guy with cash power, heh.”

“I… I’m sorry.”

Anya seed about to retort, but rembering she was still receiving paynt from this guy, her previously defiant lips imdiately softened.

Relax, Anya—you’re here to earn money. Endure a few scoldings from this villain.

“Useless bodyguard.”

“…”

“What are you standing there for? Go loot the corpses! What, do you want

to handle it personally and get my hands dirty with that filth?”

Luo Nan, seeing the girl turn her head away, pointed toward the five corpses on the ground and commanded.

“Y-yes, understood.”
