Nick was out of it for the rest of the day and it showed as he would just get lost in thought randomly and it took Harry shaking him to snap him back to reality. Nick couldn't help it as he fell into the trap that was known as philosophy. He was unable to definitively say which was truly a better choice as both had their own problems. Unless he cut off all contact with the outside world while immortal there was simply no way to not get noticed eventually. He could take the route that the flamls did by basically broadcasting his immortality once and then wait for the commotion to die down about it before resurfacing. While he may need to deal with the occasional person seeking to take his immortality sohow , by that point he would probably be invincible. Think about it for a mont he would never leave his pri and would only grow more skilled and powerful as ti went on because he had all the ti in the world to spend learning or experinting.-
There was a single thing that was incorrect about what the elf had said in that there were in fact several sources of immortality in this world. The flamls had the stone , vampires were a thing that people always seed to forget about and then there was the nearly infinite ways just pure magic could be used to achieve the sa. As boring as it sounded remaining human ant that Nick could live a nice full life get married , have kids , grandkids and eventual embrace death like an old friend. He would never need to deal with the boredom that ca from doing literally everything. The worse thought he had however was that he may eventually beco a dark lord just because it was so form of entertainnt. Maybe he'd raise a super civilization in secret just to openly go to war with them to pass the ti.-
The entire three days passed by before he finally was forced to make his choice and he chose to embrace the change. He knew that even if sowhere far in the future he might turn cruel and evil , NOT taking the option was simply wasteful and he admittedly didn't like the thought of growing old. The sleep he was expecting that night was once again centered around the brown haired elf who had shown up once more. Nick made his choice and the elven man simply smiled and nodded in understanding before blackness overca Nick. -
'Nothing seems all that different?' Nick thought in confusion but rembered that it was apparently an over ti kind of thing rather than a sudden change. As a result he was going to craft a few of his best quality rings to gain more points while also preparing for the nonsense he could expect from Hogwarts. One such ring he crafted out of the gold he got out of a single galleon. This ring was designed to resemble a woven rope and was quite the pain to make for Nick. He ended up having to suck it up and purchase so polishing paste for the ring in order to make it shiny and nice looking.-
This ring was intended for the caretaker since magical orphans like he and Harry had two options in regards to where they go for the sumr holidays. The first was with the family of another student so long as the student wasn't muggle born. The second option was the one Nick planned on taking which was an apprentice ship under a successful wizard. Surprisingly very few people chose this option simply because the first put them with their friends. Nick knew that if you apprentice under the right wizard you could learn a lot such as for example , Olivander.
