Adam sat cross-legged on the bed his feet touching the cold stone floor.
His mind still reeling from the vision that had flooded his senses monts ago.
The scorched halls, the demonic invasion, Minerva’s fierce stand, and Lazilly’s desperate flight albeit force...it all felt too real, too vivid to be a re possibility.
His heart thudded in his chest, the faint pulse of his connection to his unborn child still tingling in his core.
Echidna’s words however echoed in his mind, her explanation of the Monster Lords’ true nature sinking in like a stone in deep water.
The Monster Lords weren’t just powerful beings.
They were local concepts, living embodints of the Monster World’s very fabric, woven into its existence as fundantal functions.
Ti, Space, Force, Mind, Fantasy, Fertility are all examples of this, as such, each Lord was a pillar, a force that shaped reality itself.
Echidna had described them as omnipresent within their domains, their awareness stretching across infinite tilines, linear and nonlinear, past, present, and future.
The idea was staggering.
Adam had known they were strong, but this? This was beyond comprehension. Minerva, for instance, wasn’t just a warrior or a leader; she was the essence of dreams, present in every flicker of imagination within the Monster World.
And yet, even she had been blindsided by the tiline he had randomly glimpsed upon.
Adam ran a hand through his hair, exhaling sharply.
"So, you’re telling ."
He began, his voice carrying a mix of awe and disbelief.
"That the Monster Lords are basically similar to Gods, and Spirits right? Like, they’re everywhere in their aspect, all the ti, across every possible outco?"
Echidna’s lips curved into a faint, knowing smile, her serpentine tail coiling lazily around her as she leaned back.
"Not gods, Adam... Kind of like personal concepts. Gods can be dethroned, and easily forgotten, as despite being abstract their connection to the Divine Spirit of Divinity allows them use Concepts that a Divine Spirit represent, as they are usually stronger than Monster Lords."
"In this case Lords are like Divine Spirit but the Timu version or a local version. As long as the Monster World exists, so do they as they are the Monster World as such relies on it to survive, and they sa goes for the World itself is too."
"In one form or another. Their omnipresence in their domains, Minerva in dreams, Ti in causality, Space in the fabric of existence, ans they’re woven into every thread of reality."
"But even they have limits. That future you saw? It was hidden, obscured by sothing or soone powerful enough to blind even a Monster Lords of that possibility."
Adam’s brow furrowed, his mind racing to keep up.
"But Minerva... she saw it. Through , sohow. She connected to that tiline now didn’t she, like you said."
Echidna nodded, her eyes glinting with a mix of amusent and respect to Adam ability to pay keen attention.
"Exactly. Your connection to your child, your children, acted as a conduit. Minerva’s omnipresence in dreams let her latch onto that vision through you. It’s rare, Adam. Insanely rare. Your luck is... well, let’s just say it’s absurd. Among infinite possibilities, you stumbled onto a linear outco so specific, so catastrophic, that not even the other Lords sensed it. That’s not just chance. That’s sothing else entirely... It make wonder if this was the work of sothing manipulating you to pick them fragnt of all things, how curious."
Adam leaned forward, his elbows resting on his knees.
"So, what does that an? That future with Arguloz, and the army of demons, with Minerva fighting for her life, it make worry you know, since it’s a possibility, right?"
Echidna’s expression grew serious, as she responds.
"Don’t get too moody, it’s still just a re possibility. It’s one of infinite potential threads, a linear outco that could happen if every event from now to then plays out perfectly. But knowing it exists changes things. The re act of glimpsing it creates a butterfly effect, a ripple that can steer the Monster World away from that fate."
"Even better Minerva’s awareness of it now? It is a much needed ga-changer. The other Lords, Ti, Space, the rest, they’ll sense the shift too. That tiline shouldn’t exist as part of the natural continuity. It’s an anomaly, a threat. And anomalies like that? They’re usually the work of Setting Users or Great Spirits ddling with the world’s fabric like I ntioned before."
Adam’s eyes widened.
"Setting Users again? You ntioned them before. They’re the ones who can... what, rewrite reality?"
"More or less."
Echidna replied, her tone tinged with irritation.
"They’re entities who can manipulate the very rules of our world. Think of them as authors of reality, tweaking the narrative to suit their whims. The fact that this future was hidden even from the Monster Lords suggests soone or sothing deliberately obscured it. And that, Adam, is no small feat."
Adam nodded slowly, processing the implications of her words. The Monster World was far more complex than he jad ever imagined, a tapestry of infinite possibilities where every choice, every action, could weave a new thread or unravel an old one.
But sothing else Echidna had said stuck with him, sparking a new train of thought.
"Wait."
He said, his voice brightening with realization.
"You ntioned my connection to my children. That it let see that tiline. Does that an... the more children I have, the more tilines I could tap into? Like, I could see more futures and mix of infinite possibilities, maybe even influence them at the sa ti to narrate ti and space."
Echidna’s eyes glead with approval, her smile widening.
"Now you’re thinking like a true Shinso in this ga. Yes, Adam. Your connection to your offspring acts like an anchor, a tether to potential tilines. Each child is a new thread, a new set of possibilities you can glimpse, linear, nonlinear, past, present, or future. Under the right circumstances, you could even pull elents from those tilines into reality, shaping outcos to your will."
"It’s a power few can claim in their own way, and it’s tied to the Law of Fertility I embody as well your source is just origin. The more lives you bring into this world, the more eyes you have across the infinite branches... So your not alone in this, we can work together to make a better future for our family."
Adam’s grin was almost boyish, a spark of excitent cutting through the mont.
"That’s pretty insane not going to lie. I an, that’s a ga-changer, right? I could literally scout out the future, maybe even stop disasters like that demon invasion before they happen."
"Potentially."
Echidna cautioned, raising a finger.
"But it’s not that simple. Seeing a tiline doesn’t an you can control it. The butterfly effect works both ways, every action you take to avoid one future could lead to another, equally dangerous one. And pulling outcos from nonlinear tilines into reality? That requires precision, power, and a deep understanding of the world’s laws. You’re not there yet, Adam. But you’re closer than most."
Adam leaned back, his mind buzzing with possibilities. The idea that he could wield such influence, that his children could be keys to unlocking the future, was both thrilling and daunting.
He glanced at Morgana, who lay nearby, her breathing soft and steady, the faint glow of life within her belly. His heart swelled with a mix of pride and protectiveness.
This was his child, his anchor to a future he could shape.
But before he could dwell further, a strange sensation tugged at him.
He looked down at his hand, his eyes widening as he saw it fading, the edges of his fingers blurring into nothingness.
Annoyance flared briefly, but Echidna’s calm voice cut through it.
"You’re waking up."
She said, her tone soft.
"I ca late this ti, it seems. Your ti here is running out."
Adam blinked, looking back at her.
"Waking up? Already that strange."
Echidna sighed, her serpentine tail flicking with mild annoyance.
"I’ve been... preoccupied. Important matters, ones even I can’t ignore. Next ti, you’ll need to find . Keep your eyes open, Adam. I’ll be around."
"No problem sis."
Adam said, his voice steady despite the fading sensation creeping up his arm. He glanced at Morgana again, his gaze softening.
"Echidna... can you look out for her for ?"
Echidna’s expression softened, a rare warmth in her eyes.
"She’s in good hands, Adam. I promise."
He nodded, relief washing over him.
Leaning down, he pressed a gentle kiss to Morgana’s forehead, her warmth grounding him for a fleeting mont.
"Take care of our kid my cute little minx."
He whispered playfully.
Right after, Adam began to wake up his form vanishing from Echidna domain as he re-enters back into the world of the waking.
Adam eyes flared open as he began to hear screaming.
"AHHHHHH...
"DAMNIT WE NEED DIC SHE IS BLEEDING OUT."
"Ughaaa...
Adam groaned rubbing his eyes as he looks around.
Getting up, he heard what can only be called a battle ensuing itslef outside.
Escaping from.the curtains that when he saw it, a large hole in the cabin and dozen of the student where reinjured.
A large army of Slugs wanted outside, as Rex and the elite student where outside fighting them.
But the share numbers was too much.
