Moca's boots crunched against the wooden floor boards as she trudged back to her room, a small, curtained nook tucked within the cabin's modest looking but expanded interior.
Her breath puffed out in faint clouds, though the chill barely touched her thanks to the Heat Magic woven into the cabin's walls.
But as she makes her way back into her personal space.
She could not help but think, as she said to herself.
"I can"t believe the Prez was a Shinso monster this whole ti."
She muttered, shaking her head.
"Guess that explains his power… and a few other things as well."
She slipped into her resting area, the faint creak of the floorboards greeting her. A simple sleeping bag lay in the corner, her only comfort in this spartan space.
Moca stretched, her muscles loosening as she began to unbutton her uniform top.
The cold outside was brutal, but she had long grown used to sleeping naked, a stubborn habit she couldn't shake.
Without it, sleep eluded her entirely.
"Rest is more of a luxury than a necessity for ."
She said to herself, as she continued to unbuttoned.
"But since the president is asleep. I might as well pass the hours the sa way as him. Maybe tomorrow I can convince the Prez to hunting with ."
But as was about to finish, her fingers paused on the last button.
Her face went ice cold, the worry present on her face was evident.
But before she could dwell on it any further than she currently was, a familiar presence prickled at her senses, sharp and ominous, approaching the cabin from afar.
"Don't tell it's coming here?!"
She hissed, freezing mid-motion.
"FUCK!"
In response to the upcoming danger, the shadow beneath her feet rippled, expanding like a pool of ink. In an instant, she sank into it, reappearing silently on the cabin's rooftop.
Snow swirled around her but didn't touch her, repelled by the faint shimr of Kael's energy barrier enveloping area around the cabin.
Moca's glowing red eyes narrowed, locking onto the presence in the distance.
Searching for the being with the familiar surge of power.
And there it was, a towering figure, humanoid yet grotesque, with slug-like features.
Its elongated head and slender, muscular limbs glead under the chaotic aurora of the planet, that hardly bathed the world with any reliable light.
As it fra was radiating with an overwhelming surge of Blood Astrum. Behind it, an army of giant cryokinetic slugs erupted from the ground, their writhing forms stretching into the hundreds of thousands.
An invasion was coming.
Larger than any wave they faced before on this planet.
The creature's lips curled into a grotesque smile, its hands extending outward. A crimson magic circle flared to life, and a massive orb of blood began to form, compressing with terrifying speed at the casting point.
"Blood Magic."
Moca whispered, her voice trembling with urgency.
"Shit… shit!"
She leapt from the roof, her Astrum surging within her, blending with her Monster Energy, a radiant, pitch-black light that erupted outward, shattering the upper layer of Kael's barrier almost imdiately.
Power coursed through her, thick and potent to the point of tangibility, yet harmless to those within the cabin.
With precise control, she wove her energy into a skeletal fra, rib-like structures encircling the barrier.
Six massive skeletal arms ford, wrapping protectively around it, until a towering, humanoid skeleton stood as a second shield.
It had no lower half, but it's ribcage surrounded the entire area.
For good asure, Moca raised her hands, summoning a series of intricate magic circles etched with multi-purpose Spirit Language.
As prepare to cast a spell to stop the incoming attack.
"Original Magic: Fade"
In that mont, Moca's magic circle flared to life, its intricate patterns pulsing like an artist's brush dipped in a pool of black ink.
The world around her, or rather, the barrier Kael had erected, beca a canvas, swallowed by an all-consuming pitch blackness.
Light, sound, movent, thought, emotion, everything vanished, drowned in the void that her spell had create within the confines of Kael barrier like water filling to shape the cup within.
Even ti itself seed to halt, frozen in a great sea of nothingness.
Within this abyss, Moca's spell, held sway.
All things ceased to exist, their essence suspended in the dark. Only Moca remained untouched, a solitary anchor in the emptiness.
Yet, in that ink-black void, Adam stirred.
His body, high resistant to magic's passively activating, as he shifted unconsciously in his sleep.
Sothing tried to bind him, to drag him under, but his innate magic resistance fought back, a faint rebellion against the overwhelming tide.
anwhile, eight miles away, the grotesque humanoid creature raised its hands, its spell complete.
A crimson glow illuminated its slug-like features as it intoned with hoarse voice.
"Blood Magic: Fallout."
The orb of blood, compressed to its utmost limit, thrumd with the absolution of an abstract law of the universe.
This was no ordinary spell, it was an area-of-effect cataclysm, a force of pure destruction.
Without hesitation, the creature unleashed it, pouring half its gifted Blood Astrum into the attack to fulfill its mission.
BOOOM!
Fallout surged forward at Mach-12, faster than any modern jet, its sonic boom ripping through the air.
The shockwave parted the snow and sent lesser slugs tumbling backward, their forms scattered like leaves in a storm.
The attack carved a path of annihilation, obliterating trees and stone, erasing matter entirely.
It poisoned the Astrum in the atmosphere, tainting it like a supernatural plutonium core, radiating malevolence.
In re seconds, the devastating spell reached its target, slamming into Kael's barrier with unrelenting force in that mont.
Astonishingly, the barrier held, for five fleeting seconds. The pent-up energy from the spell's casting battered it relentlessly, but the shield stood firm nonetheless as short as may had been, it serve it purpose to help slow it down a bit.
Then the spell law began to spread taking effect on the Energy Astrum with, like a creeping corruption that infected the barrier's Astrum like a disease.
The energy weakened, faltered, and shattered into a million fragnts.
The first line of defense was gone, just like that.
Now ca Moca's skeletal construct, a towering humanoid fra forged from her own Monster Energy.
Its six massive arms descended, seizing the blood orb in a desperate bid to halt its advance. Moca poured all her internal power into it, reinforcing the construct to keep the spell at bay.
But the feind spell was relentless, its power was a law of the universal itself. It clashed against her energy, destabilizing it, tainting the very essence of her race's power.
The strain was unbearable, blood seeped from Moca's eyes and mouth, her body wracked with pain as if stabbed by a thousand heated knives from every direction, bombarding her from within.
The infection surged through her manifested energy, racing back to its source. The skeletal construct shattered into oblivion, unable to withstand the assault.
As enemy spell seem to have the sa effect on Monster Energy as it does with Astrum.
The blood orb pressed forward, striking Moca's final defense, her Fade barrier holding on with great power.
This was her strongest defense type spell she currently has, and it proved its worth.
As the orb entered her protective domain, ti itself seed to reject it. The attack's montum ceased, its purpose unraveling, as it stop mid-air.
Its very existence faded, stripped of aning, until it dissolved into nothingness.
The spell was gone.
And monts later Moca collapsed to her knees, clutching herself as pain seared through her body.
It felt as if she were burning from the inside out, every nerve screaming in agony.
"AHHHRGGAA!"
She cried, her voice raw, echoing into the frozen world.
"Shit."
She said, struggling to get up, as she comnted.
"I burnt through all my Dark Astrum... Great, thankfully I still have two more of these."
She said taking sothing from her uniform skirt pocket, it was small pill.
But in reality it was drop of her father's blood.
Without saying anything else, she swallowed it, and almost imdiately, a great surge of power flowed through her, as her Monster Energy instantly return, and the poison like effect she received from Fallout was cleanse.
Still her Dark Astrum was now empty, and that would not return, she could feel it. The Astrum I. The area was polluted with the sa poison that weakness energy and corrupt it to the point it can kill you of you keep it in your body.
But before Moca could say anything else, she heard a familiar voice. One she has not heard in the last seven months.
