Chapter 1606: Indirect Approach
The Lizard Shop Owner wasn’t sure if Su Yu and the others were aliens. Although they looked the part, who could say for sure they weren’t just acting?
Filled with doubt, it could only keep cooking.
…
After about another hour of eating, Su Yu and Morning Star finally stopped.
With their level of strength, the concept of “feeling full” didn’t really apply. It was just that they had been eating for so long that they were starting to feel bored of it.
By now, the table around them was piled high with discarded dishes.
Feeling that they were in the way, Morning Star casually tossed the empty dishes into her Space Ring, planning to deal with them later when she had ti.
Satisfied, she stretched lazily and said to Su Yu, “Alright, I think we’re good! But Nesis, tell , why did you co here? Why not just directly make contact with that ‘experint specin’?”
Morning Star voiced the question that had been weighing on her mind.
“Experint specin.” The Lizard Shop Owner was startled as soon as it heard this term. Its ears perked up instinctively to catch their conversation.
“You think I don’t want to?” Su Yu leaned back contentedly in his chair, letting out a satisfied belch. “I was planning to go find the experint specin, but after much thought, and consulting Holy Song for advice, I decided on an indirect approach instead.”
The term “Holy Song” was completely filtered out by the Lizard Shop Owner—it couldn’t hear it at all.
“Indirect approach?” A literal question mark seed to pop up on Morning Star’s forehead. “What does that even an? Even if you want to go indirect, why co to so remote spot on the outskirts of this city… oh, I get it!”
Midway through her sentence, Morning Star suddenly realized sothing.
She had finally figured out why Su Yu had co here:
Let’s not forget, this particular Lizard Shop Owner was an Eighth Rank interdiate-level cultivator! Even a fool could guess that it must be scheming sothing if it had decided to hole up here.
Perhaps Su Yu intended to follow this “vine” to the “lon,” and ultimately connect with the experint specin in an indirect way?
“Shh! Let’s keep waiting—the main event is about to arrive.” Su Yu gave a mysterious smile, placing his index finger to his lips in a silencing gesture.
Then he added, “And besides, having an Eighth Rank interdiate-level chef cook for us—what’s there to complain about?”
“True, I’m pretty satisfied,” Morning Star nodded in agreent.
Now that everything was clear to her, her appetite surged once more.
“Chef! Two more big slabs of roasted Cardo Beast at—hurry up!” Morning Star bellowed towards the kitchen.
The Lizard Shop Owner: “…”
The Lizard Shop Owner’s face turned a dark shade of black—it felt like it had just gone through the most humiliating day of its life!
And Su Yu’s earlier words, “The main event is about to arrive,” sent a chill straight to its soul.
The statent made it painfully clear that all the careful sches it had been setting up in this spot had been completely seen through by Su Yu—not a single thing had been left unexposed!
It seed the gap between itself and Su Yu wasn’t just large—it was insurmountable. It looked like there was no way to escape today’s impending disaster.
But it wasn’t just the Lizard Shop Owner—Morning Star herself was feeling unsettled too.
She could now truly sense the giant chasm between her and Su Yu.
Su Yu’s spiritual power could envelop the entire planet, whereas she, limited to Eighth Rank interdiate-level, didn’t dare to extend her spiritual power too far.
This ant that, to Su Yu, this planet was like a transparent map; he could observe the entire situation and craft his strategies with precision. anwhile, for Morning Star, it was like fumbling in a room full of “fog of war.”
This left her at a severe information disadvantage. Su Yu could act like a cryptic riddler, while she could only grasp at straws within his riddles, with no ans to change the situation.
But what else could she do?
Ten minutes later, after the Lizard Shop Owner reluctantly brought out the roasted at, Morning Star could only vent her frustration by ferociously tearing into the dish.
…
Su Yu had been right—the main event was indeed about to unfold.
As Morning Star gnawed on the roasted at in frustration, two chas—one pink and one white—descended from the sky, landing in the open area in front of the small shop.
This city had a distinct cyberpunk aesthetic, much like the sci-fi movies from Blue Star, with an astonishing level of inequality between rich and poor!
Enormous skyscrapers stretching thousands of ters into the air stood within the city, with countless aerial highways threading between them. Various flying vehicles zipped along these highways.
The two chas had flown down from one of the main aerial highways and landed in this shadowy, remote alleyway.
The reason this could be called “cyberpunk” was evident in the stark disparity within the city: so areas were incredibly advanced, boasting technological developnts so cutting-edge they rivaled those of the Fegg Hub!
But in contrast, other areas had residents living in appalling poverty.
For example, the street on which the small shop was located didn’t even have paved roads—it was just packed dirt, filthy and strewn with sewage. The streetlights were crooked and long since in disrepair. In the corners of the alleyway, piles of years-old unprocessed corpses could still be found.
Judging solely by this alley, the living conditions of the nearby residents were abysmal—worse than those of residents in major Blue Star cities a decade ago.
And yet, in other districts of the city, the wealth and technological advancent were unparalleled.
Calling this place “cyberpunk” was no exaggeration in the slightest.
…
After the two chas landed, their pilots stored the machines into so kind of spatial storage device, revealing their true forms.
Morning Star glanced their way and saw that the newcors were—surprisingly—two red-skinned Human girls!
The older one appeared to be around seventeen or eighteen, while the younger seed to be about fifteen or sixteen.
Without any hesitation, they began walking straight towards the small shop.
