Upon hearing Connor's words, Waverly was instantly frozen in place, her expression filled with disbelief.

She stamred, "Mr. Connor, you can't be joking with , right? You killed Draco?"

"Draco is indeed dead by my hand," Connor replied, looking at her.

"Mr. Connor, Draco was a martial arts grandmaster. How did you manage to kill him?" she asked, her expression shocked.

He hesitated for a mont, then walked up to her and softly said, "Extend your hand."

Waverly's expression showed so hesitation, but she eventually placed her right hand in front of Connor.

He gently grasped her hand and released his internal energy. As she felt the energy radiating from him, she was instantly stunned, her expression becoming even more shocked.

"What... What is happening here?" she stuttered.

"There are so things I can't explain right now, but just rember that the current is not the sa as the old . Draco is nothing in my eyes," he calmly stated.

She looked at him with a complex expression. She could feel that the energy he had just displayed was far beyond what a martial arts grandmaster could possess, indicating that Connor's martial level might have reached that of a martial arts grandmaster.

If he were indeed a martial arts grandmaster, then he would have the capability to kill Draco. However, what puzzled her was how he had achieved such a significant improvent in just a few months since she had last seen him.

"Is Freya in this room?" Connor asked as he walked up to Carlos.

"Yes, she's in this room," Carlos replied, nodding.

"You've all worked hard during this ti," Connor said, patting Carlos's shoulder.

He was genuinely grateful to these people. In such a situation, they were the only ones who could help him, as he couldn't rely on anyone else.

After entering the room, he found Freya lying on the hospital bed, surrounded by various dical devices. The numbers on the devices didn't show much improvent since he had left, indicating that her condition hadn't worsened but also hadn't improved significantly.

"Is she your fiancée?" Leah walked up to Connor and asked softly.

"Yes, she's my fiancée," he replied with a soft nod.

"She's really beautiful," she exclaid softly after seeing Freya.

Connor smiled at Leah but didn't say anything.

At that mont, Thomas cleared his throat and said, "Well, let's leave them alone for a while. Mr. Connor and Miss Freya can have so ti together..."

"Alright." Everyone nodded and left the room.

After a mont of hesitation, Leah also followed the others out.

Thomas could sense that Leah had feelings for Connor, but he knew that Connor's heart was firmly with Freya. So, after leaving the room, Thomas said softly to Leah, "Miss Leah, Connor has many won around him, but Freya is the one he truly wishes to marry."

"Mr. Thomas, I understand your aning," she replied softly.

"Good, that's good." Thomas smiled faintly and then left.

Leah stood there, sighing softly. Her face bore a hint of disappointnt.

...

Connor spent the entire night in Freya's hospital room, recounting everything that had happened to him in Crimson Peak over the past few months.

Unbeknownst to him, by the ti he left the room, the sun had risen.

Carlos was still guarding the door, like an unyielding sentinel.

"I've returned, you don't need to guard here every day. Go get so rest," Connor said softly to Carlos.

"Protecting Miss Freya is the task you entrusted to . No matter when or under what circumstances, I must ensure her safety. Her current situation is due to my negligence. I won't be careless in the future," Carlos said with utmost seriousness.

"The one who attacked Freya was Beau, and even if you were present, there wouldn't have been much you could do," Connor said.

Carlos remained silent.

After a mont of thought, Connor took out the Five Elents Dagger and handed it to Carlos.

"Mr. Connor, what is this?" he asked with so confusion.

"This is the Five Elents Dagger, capable of using the power of the Five Elents. It will greatly enhance your combat abilities. I don't need it anymore, so you can have it," Connor explained.

"Is this a divine weapon?" Carlos asked, astonished.

"Yes, it's a divine weapon." He confird with a nod.

"Mr. Connor, isn't this too precious?" Carlos furrowed his brows.

"Why do you talk so much nonsense? Just take it," Connor said, tossing the Five Elents Dagger to him before walking away.

After receiving the Five Elents Dagger, Carlos's expression beca incredibly excited. He understood how much a divine weapon could improve a martial artist's strength.

After parting ways with Carlos, Connor went to find Josiah.

"Mr. Connor!" Josiah had seemingly been waiting for Connor. He stood up and greeted him.

"How is Freya's condition now?" Connor asked him in a soft voice.
