"Based on my observations over the past few days, Miss Freya's condition has remained stable. It's all thanks to those two jade bracelets."

"If it weren't for those two jade bracelets, Miss Freya would probably not have held on until now," Josiah said slowly.

"Freya's life isn't supposed to end!" Connor replied in a low voice. He then took out a jade box and placed it in front of Josiah, saying softly, "Inside here is the Soul Returning Fruit."

Josiah was montarily stunned but quickly opened the jade box and carefully examined the Soul Returning Fruit. He excitedly said, "Yes, this is indeed the Soul Returning Fruit. The patterns on it match exactly with the records in ancient books. This is great! I didn't expect that you would actually find it."

"I risked my life to obtain this fruit. The rest is up to you," Connor said with a smile.

"Mr. Connor, rest assured. Even if I have to risk my life, I will help you refine the Soul Returning Pill!" Josiah said with a trembling voice.

"Do you have all the preparations ready?" Connor asked him in a hushed tone.

"Everything has been prepared for a long ti. I've been waiting for you to bring back the Soul Returning Fruit," Josiah hurriedly replied.

"Very well." Connor nodded gently. He continued, "How long will it take to refine the Soul Returning Fruit, and is there anything I need to do?"

"Refining the Soul Returning Fruit will take fourteen days. During this ti, I need to monitor the alchemical process constantly, controlling different temperatures at various tis. Since you're not an alchemist, there's nothing for you to do. Let Diana assist when needed," Josiah explained.

"That long?" Connor's expression showed a hint of frustration.

"Yes, because the Soul Returning Pill is no ordinary elixir, it naturally takes a longer ti to refine. However, I believe that given Miss Freya's current condition, she should be able to hold on for over ten days," Josiah said softly.

"Alright, I trust you. Just do your best," Connor said, understanding that rushing the process would be counterproductive.

"I will give my all!" Josiah replied earnestly.

"Good, go ahead and get to work," Connor said, and Josiah left the room.

Once Josiah was gone, Connor let out a long sigh. He had done everything he could for now, and all that remained was to wait for the Soul Returning Pill to be refined.

"Connor..."

At that mont, Thomas approached Connor.

"What is it?" Connor asked softly.

"Miss Leah has just left Porthampton by plane. She ntioned sothing urgent happening in her family, so she didn't say goodbye to you. She asked to inform you," he explained.

"She left in such a hurry?" Connor was surprised.

"Yes, it seed like she was in a hurry when she left. Sothing must have happened." Thomas nodded.

Connor hesitated for a mont and then asked, "Did you tell her sothing about ?"

"I only conveyed so words that you would be willing to say. Nothing more," Thomas replied calmly.

Connor sighed and said, "Well, if she wants to leave, then let her go. Getting too close to won't benefit her. When there's an opportunity in the future, you can offer so assistance to the Langlie family. This ti, she has indeed done a favor."

"You don't need to worry about that, I understand what to do," Thomas replied.

"As long as you understand," Connor said with a slight nod.

"There's one more thing I want to tell you."

"What is it?" he asked.

"There have been new developnts on Yannick's side," Thomas said and handed an invitation letter to him.

Connor glanced at the invitation letter and saw that it was for a banquet, with Yannick as the host.

"What does this an?" Connor asked in a low voice.

"During the recent period, I tried to appease Yannick's emotions while helping you delay so ti. I voluntarily transferred the control of Empire World Corporation to Yannick. However, it seems that Yannick is now completely convinced that you are dead. His ambitions go beyond just controlling Empire World Corporation. He has invited all the prominent figures from the four provinces to this banquet. His intention is likely to announce that he will take over control of the four provinces, aiming to replace you as the chairman. He wants to take away your control over the four provinces!" Thomas explained.

Connor couldn't help but smile when he heard this. "It seems that Yannick has quite ambitious plans. He intends to replace as the chairman."

He understood that the four provinces were even more important to him than any other place. The headquarters of Empire World Corporation was in Davenport, and it was in the four provinces where he had initially established himself. The major families and companies in the four provinces were all under his influence, providing him with substantial annual funds.

These funds were Connor's most critical weapons in dealing with Ferb.

"If I lose the support of the four provinces, it's like cutting off my hands and feet. By then, dealing with Ferb won't be so simple," he said with a hint of frustration.

"Yannick probably doesn't have such grand ambitions. After all, what he truly values is the legacy left behind by Steven, not my influence in the four provinces. I believe there's soone behind the scenes manipulating him!" Connor said.

"You're right, that's what I suspect too," Thomas nodded.

"Thank you for letting know. I'll think about how to handle this situation," Connor said, looking at the invitation letter.
