Warhawk-1?
This na is quite good, but there are no Warhawk series of aircraft. All dostically developed and produced fighter jets are nad according to established rules, so that one can tell the type of aircraft simply by looking at the na.
For example, "Jian" indicates a fighter jet, "Hong" a bomber, "Zhi" a helicopter, "Qiang" an attack aircraft, and modifications are indicated with Chinese characters such as "A", "B", "C", "D", and subsequent modifications are then nad with Roman nurals I, II, III, IV.
So what does ’Warhawk-1’ represent?
"The first aircraft designed and developed by the Warhawk Special Research Group that Academician Zhao applied for?" Liu Jiankun rubbed his forehead, feeling a headache coming on. He thought of classifying ’Warhawk-1’ under the ’Jian’ series, but after careful consideration, it didn’t seem quite fitting, because all ’Jian’ series fighter jets are officially approved for developnt by the research institutes under the Aviation Group.
The ’Warhawk-1’ that Zhao Yi applied for also had a high probability of failing to be designed, so to place it directly under the ’Jian’ series would be tantamount to recognizing the developnt as an official fighter jet developnt project approved by the Aviation Group.
"This won’t do!"
"If it ends up that nothing is developed and it turns into a joke, it would be a disgrace for the entire group, or even the country."
"How about..."
"Let’s just go with ’Warhawk’. If it can’t be developed, it’s no big deal. It’s just Academician Zhao’s personal hobby."
As for actually developing it?
Liu Jiankun hadn’t even considered that; he felt it was impossible in the short term. If circumstances changed later on, they could reconsider. For now, he decided to approve the ’Warhawk’ model code, treating it as a special code granted by the Aviation Group, not included in the main developnt lineup.
Soon.
Zhao Yi received the approval for his application, along with it ca two staff mbers. Manager Liu’s support was substantial—the staff brought a large amount of fighter jet developnt materials and they would also work there long-term, responsible for liaising between the Warhawk developnt team and other departnts of the Aviation Group, essentially creating a channel between the Warhawk Special Research Group and other technical institutes of the Aviation Group.
This was very important.
The Aviation Group was extrely large, having dozens of research institutes under its umbrella. So were responsible for the developnt of airplanes, so for helicopters, early warning aircraft, and many more were auxiliary technological research institutes, such as radar technology, power systems, chanical studies, aviation accessories, electronic equipnt, survival gear, and of course, including engine design, etc.
The developnt of an aircraft requires referencing various technical paraters, which ans communicating with different departnts to see if they can provide the necessary technical equipnt and information about the performance paraters of the equipnt provided.
Engines, of course, are the most important, being the heart, the core of a fighter jet, but they are only one of many components.
Zhao Yi was very satisfied with the support from the Aviation Group. His application had been directly approved, and they even sent special personnel to assist.
"It seems that Manager Liu is optimistic about my research and developnt!"
He thought, "Liu Jiankun, ah! Worthy of being a capable general manager, he really has vision!"
Zhao Yi inwardly gave Liu Jiankun many thumbs up, directly phoned to thank him for the support and trust, and then imdiately began planning with full confidence to start designing the fighter jet.
This was a brand new challenge!
A brand new challenge also ant many unknown starting points. Zhao Yi thought carefully, "Where should I begin?"
He quickly set two tasks.
First was to review the materials provided by the Aviation Group, which included a wealth of airplane developnt materials, including specifications for fighter jets, helicopters, and various equipnt performance paraters. To design an engine, he certainly had to understand these.
The second task was to recruit people, professional people.
For this aspect, Zhao Yi had already planned well. He needed professional aircraft design talent as well as experts in other fields. Talent couldn’t be recruited from outside; he could only dig within the Group.
So, upon eting the personnel sent by the Aviation Group, he imdiately proposed to recruit internally.
"Check with the other institutes; I need to recruit at least two professional aircraft designers, and also experts in aircraft power, electronic equipnt, automatic control, radar technology, and other areas."
"The rest isn’t urgent for now. The most important are the aircraft designers. They don’t have to be top-level, just having participated in aircraft design projects and having so foundation will do."
This wasn’t difficult.
The Aviation Group had several aircraft design research institutes under its command, with the most famous being Shencheng Aircraft Research Institute and Wucheng Aircraft Research Institute. Both institutes were responsible for developing ’Jian’ series fighter jets, and they certainly had many aircraft designers.
The personnel sent by the Aviation Group quickly inford both institutes of the matter.
The response from the institutes was swift.
They knew that Zhao Yi had applied for a special aircraft developnt project, nad ’Warhawk-1’. They found it very interesting because aircraft developnt is complex, involving many considerations. The specific type of aircraft that ’Warhawk-1’ was remained confidential, but they did not believe Zhao Yi could really develop anything significant. Perhaps it was just an interest he wanted to pursue?
However, skepticism did not an a lack of support.
Zhao Yi was influential.
It was the sa within the Aviation Group. The aircraft engine designs he led his team on received high praise. Even if there was skepticism about his ability to design an aircraft, support would be given out of respect for his reputation.
