The production of all types of dostic warplanes was the responsibility of the Aviation Group, to which the Kunlun Engine Project Team also belonged. This was a major research and developnt project under the group. The report filed by Zhang Gangchuan was sent to Liu Jiankun, the general manager.
Liu Jiankun was not only the general manager of the Aviation Group, but also the chief designer and person in charge of several dostic warplanes.
He had always been paying attention to the Kunlun engine project.
The Kunlun engine was very important for dostic warplane engine research and developnt. Even if the Kunlun engine, which had taken over twenty years to develop could not be equipped on warplanes in the short term, the technology and experience gained during the R&D process were the most important rewards, laying a solid foundation for future aviation engine research and developnt.
Liu Jiankun was sowhat disappointed in the Kunlun engine project, after all, it’s R&D process had lasted for over twenty years. It had been a project that was personally overseen, approved and supported by the leaders, but the finished product still had a lot of issues that needed to be solved.
"Even if we equip the third-generation aircraft with the Kunlun engine, it will still take five to ten years, right?"
Ti, the most helpless of things.
As the world’s technology is rapidly developing, the sa applies to the military field. The country is constantly updating its warplanes, hoping to primarily use three-and-a-half to four-and-a-half-generation warplanes. The third-generation and three-and-a-half-generation warplanes are relatively outdated now, not to ntion that the Kunlun engine still has many issues and it will take a long ti to be operational for fight aircraft.
This engine project seems like chicken ribs, continuing to invest funds in R&D, even if an engine is developed that is capable of equipping warplanes, it won’t be produced in large quantities because of its performance limitations.
When Liu Jiankun saw the report submitted by Zhang Gangchuan, his feelings were quite mixed. He didn’t really want to see the ’Kunlun engine project’ report, out of sight, out of mind seed appropriate.
Of course, that was impossible.
Liu Jiankun still carefully read the report, and was surprised to find, "Academician Zhao Yi has joined the Kunlun project team? As a specially engaged expert? He wants to transport a prototype to the capital?"
"No problem!"
Without even thinking, Liu Jiankun’s first reaction was to approve it, because he knew that several project team from the aircraft carrier R&D had filed reports hoping Zhao Yi would join.
Zhao Yi is a world-class mathematician, but whatever field he researches, he seems to achieve results in.
for example, particle physics.
for instance, dicine.
And so on.
Liu Jiankun was also aware of Zhao Yi’s contribution to the developnt of alloy materials and his theoretical contribution to the satellite navigation system. He was thinking about when to get acquainted with Zhao Yi and let him also play a role in the field of aviation.
Now, what he was expecting really ca.
He imdiately responded with approval and asked for full cooperation. He especially inquired whether there was a place near Yanhua University that can place the engine prototype.
Then, he found the Power Engineering Laboratory.
Zhang Gangchuan felt that the Power Engineering Laboratory was only a municipal-level key laboratory, which served as a place for scientific research within the university. But in Liu Jiankun’s eyes, there was no difference whether it was a provincial or national laboratory. As long as it was a laboratory within a university, even if it was nationally ranked, it might not be very good. It may just have a few achievents and surely could not compared to professional research and developnt bases.
So, they were all the sa.
"It’s not about how much Zhao Yi can contribute to the Kunlun engine project, but to guide his interest in aviation technology..."
" It’s worth it!"
Liu Jiankun was looking forward to Zhao Yi carrying out research and developnt related to aviation technology in the future, which might lead to breakthrough results in aviation technology.
"Academician Zhao Yi is simply a genius!"
"In the future, Zhao Yi will beco the most outstanding expert in the field of aviation technology and will help dostic aviation technology achieve a qualitative leap..."
"This is the most important!"
"A prototype of the Kunlun engine is not a big deal at all..."
That’s what Liu Jiankun thought.
...
Yanhua University.
The Power Engineering Laboratory is a municipal-level key laboratory. People in the industry all know that whether a ’municipal’ laboratory is a key laboratory or not doesn’t matter much; ’municipal’ implies its more of a ’lab for internal use by the university’. However, the laboratory is still equipped with a testing building and operating rooms.
The operating room is like a small factory. However, because it doesn’t involve large-scale machinery, there are only a few small machines. So of the devices have rust on them from long periods of non-use.
The entrance to the test building is very lively, with teachers and students going in and out. There are also two laboratories inside that are reserved for chanical engineering students for lab classes.
Many graduate and doctoral students also work and study in the test building.
Students and teachers were coming in and out normally in the morning when suddenly a military vehicle drove up from a distance.
"What kind of car is that?"
"What’s it for?"
"Why is a truck coming in... Special police? The army?" The students at the door were talking, and when they saw the ard police get off the truck, they imdiately stopped talking and looked over in surprise.
A man in a commanding position got out of the car wearing his uniform and made a phone call as soon as he got out of the car.
If wasn’t long before a middle-aged man walked out.
"It’s Cao Xian, Vice Dean Cao!"
Cao Xian was the deputy dean of the School of chanical Engineering and the chief researcher of the Power Engineering Laboratory. He was in charge of the laboratory. After he ca out and spoke with the commander, they set up a cordon next to the main entrance.
The ard police and others who descended from the truck began to get busy. By around noon, most of the students coming to the test building knew that half of the first and second floors of the lab building were sealed off, as well as the operating rooms. At the entrance and exit, there were ard police standing upright. No one else was allowed to approach.
