The team from the Biodical Research Institute focused on the 2CV-Bing Hydrogen Molecule ford into three groups to conduct research in different areas during the early stages of drug developnt.

The team ford by Han Hui and Ai Lixin focused on the most stable and promising area of research. They were working on substituting the human immune environnt, a complex task. Still, they were specifically aiming to produce the 2CV-Bing Hydrogen Molecule to replace the dysfunctional immune environnt, making it more targeted and progress sowhat inevitable.

It’s like a highly complicated program aiming to implent a single functionality. There are always so redundant codes that can be removed.

Dai Tianqing’s team focused on researching the immune response of vertebrate mammals to rod bacteria invasion. Their hope was to find clues for mass production of the 2CV-Bing Hydrogen Molecule or small proteins similar to it. Any such discovery would certainly be crucial.

At the sa ti, their research was likely to bear no fruit.

This was more of a ’try-your-luck’ type of research, and it’s hard to tell whether progress would be made. Even Dai Tianqing, the team leader, knew that the possibility of significant results was low, but held hopes for so potential developnts.

Zhao Yi’s team consisted of Li Ming, Zhang Wei, and himself. They were investigating the rod bacterial antibody produced by the human immune system. The rod bacterial antibody and the 2CV-Bing Hydrogen Molecule are generated together, and there might be so sort of connection between them.

This line of research also involved so luck.

It can be easily understood using the analogy of a simple chemical reaction. For example, electrolyzing water produces hydrogen and oxygen. The only relationship between the two is the reaction they undergo under certain conditions (combustion) to produce water. But the molecular structure of hydrogen has nothing to do with oxygen, and it doesn’t work to study hydrogen in order to figure out how to produce oxygen.

Of course.

Biological reactions are much more complex. The 2CV-Bing Hydrogen Molecule is a small protein structure, while the rod bacterial antibody is a large protein molecule. There might exist so complentary connection between them.

...

In the lab.

Li Ming, in his white lab coat, stood before the experintal table, taking careful notes on the experint. After recording for a while, he put down his notebook, stepped out of the dust-free glass partition, and turned to Zhang Wei, who was wiping the lab equipnt. He sighed deeply and complained, "These last few days, Zhao Yi has been busy with particle studies. Seems like he has forgotten our research!"

"Maybe he’s just too busy."

Zhang Wei replied casually, "Isn’t our research just beginning?"

"We’ve barely begun, and already we can’t go on." Li Ming said, "You know the experint we designed, but we don’t know what to do next or what the right direction is." It wasn’t that he didn’t know, but that he was uncertain. After stating his thoughts, he expressed his opinion, "I’d say, let’s switch to plasma cell research. We might discover sothing."

"Isn’t the cost too high?" Zhang Wei was slightly worried.

Li Ming dismissed her concern, "It’s not our money. We should research whatever has the most promise."

"Yeah, you’re right."

Zhang Wei smiled, "I don’t know which direction is best, but we have the opportunity. Researching plasma cells is indeed a good idea. Even if we can’t figure out how to produce dicine, the opportunity itself is valuable."

"Exactly!"

Li Ming smiled too.

The biggest constraint of biodical research is the funding. Many top-level researches require a lot of money. Plasma cell research is a typical example. A simple experint requires materials that cost over ten thousand, making the cost of research incredibly high.

Now that they have a sponsor for the research and no need to worry about the cost, the temptation to conduct high-end research is indeed alluring.

"Dong, dong."

There was a sudden knock on the lab’s door.

"Co in."

When Li Ming turned around, he saw Zhao Yi walk in. With a hint of surprise and reproach, he said, "Academician Zhao, I thought you being such a busy person would have forgotten about our research."

Zhao Yi looked sowhat embarrassed and explained, "I have been really busy lately."

Indeed, he had co far too infrequently.

Ever since the small eting at the research institute where he, Li Ming, and Zhang Wei were grouped together, he hadn’t paid attention to the progress of the research. Although he had indeed been very busy, to the point where he hadn’t had ti to spare, his absence was not ideal for their research group.

Zhang Wei got Zhao Yi so water. Once they had sat down, they began discussing the issue of experint design.

Li Ming and Zhang Wei had designed the research and experints for their team together. Since Zhang Wei was still very young and lacked related experience, Li Ming took the lead. He developed several experintal design plans and determined which direction the research should take. Now, several experints had been conducted and they’d collected corresponding data, but there had not been significant progress.

Zhang Wei understood Zhao Yi very well. She knew she had to explain things in detail, so she brought out all the experint records, including observations during the experints.

In simple terms, they’d employed several conventional thods, including researching the generation process of the rod bacterial antibody and studying its biological reactivity.

And so forth.

Zhao Yi listened carefully.

Li Ming, watching by the side, felt a bit frustrated. Mainly because he noticed Zhang Wei explaining everything in detail, clearly hoping that Zhao Yi could offer so advice. But all they had done were conventional experints. How could they have made any significant discoveries?
