In the morning, the Science Academy delegation and Yang Zhenning arrived at Jiangzhou University, greeting each other amicably when they t.

Both sides had no direct conflict.

Yang Zhenning and the mbers of the physics departnt of the Science Academy were familiar, as China’s physics circle was not very extensive. After so ti spent in the top level of the physics field, most of the figures could get to know each other well.

When they entered the conference room, the formal discussion began.

Zhang Hongzhi, the head of the physics departnt, talked about the collider project, repeatedly ntioning the benefits of building a collider, such as "bringing the level of Quantum Physics science experints to the world’s top level," "significant investnt in physics research having a great advantage," "attracting foreign talents," and so on.

Yang Zhenning held an opposing opinion.

If it was just simply opposing, that would be fine; many people wouldn’t tear apart the facade when opposing sothing but would express their views with a smile.

The words Yang Zhenning spoke were not very pleasant, "I’ve already said it; if you’re asking , I disagree, I strongly oppose!"

"Soone has already asked about my thoughts and ideas, and I’ve made it very clear."

"There’s nothing to discuss here."

These words made the atmosphere awkward.

Zhang Hongzhi was very dissatisfied with Yang Zhenning; they even argued about the issue. Afterward, neither side paid attention to each other, and the atmosphere remained awkward.

As awkward as they were, the others in the room were even more so.

Not only were there the Science Academy delegation and Yang Zhenning here, but also other mbers of the Physics Society, as well as people from Jiangzhou University.

At Jiangzhou University’s ho ground, university people were definitely present, with several professors standing by, not knowing how to diate or what to say.

Simply put, they had no qualifications!

Building a collider was a super project, and their opinions would be useless. The country would only consult top-level physicists, scholars, or other top talents in related fields.

Others could only listen.

They felt like they were witnessing a ’fight among immortals,’ having no way of intervening as re mortals.

Fortunately, Zhao Yi arrived.

When they heard that Zhao Yi was almost there, a large group of people went out; after so people welcod him in, they simply didn’t follow him in, clearly not wanting to stay here any longer.

After listening to Ruan Wenye’s explanation, Zhao Yi felt a bit depressed.

Both the Science Academy delegation and Yang Zhenning had offered him a seat, one reason being to show closeness, another to have him take a side.

Ruan Wenye pulled him aside, probably intending for him to remain neutral.

This situation was so complicated!

Zhao Yi wanted to leave and go to the hotel to rest. He didn’t want to be a diator, but his position required him to consider certain things. For example, although he didn’t want to comnt on the collider construction project, he had to, because he was one of the most successful physicists in China.

The people in the conference room looked over, obviously wanting to hear Zhao Yi’s opinion, but nobody asked directly.

Zhang Hongzhi, the head of the physics departnt, had asked Zhao Yi’s opinion through Qian Zhijin, knowing that Zhao Yi was against building the collider, and thus didn’t want to ask directly.

Yang Zhenning didn’t even want to talk about the topic.

Zhao Yi simply remained silent.

Since nobody had directly asked anyway, he acted as if he didn’t understand the aning of their gazes. Plus, speaking out without being asked would feel awkward.

The conference room fell into a bizarre silence.

Finally, soone couldn’t hold back any longer and called out Zhao Yi’s na, "Professor Zhao!"

Everyone looked over.

Du Tianjun, a researcher in the Physics Departnt of the Science Academy, had participated in Ruan Wenye’s team and had been to the European collider experint site to do data analysis work.

After Du Tianjun called out to Zhao Yi and realized he had attracted everyone’s attention, he hesitated for a mont, but in the end pressed on, "What do you think of this matter, the collider, you should know about it, right?"

Zhao Yi didn’t answer imdiately but looked towards Ruan Wenye beside him, wanting to hear his so-called ’neutral opinion’.

Ruan Wenye gave a light cough and waved his hand, "I won’t participate in this matter."

Zhao Yi’s eyes were filled with questions.

Ruan Wenye was also a high-level mber of the Science Academy’s Physics Departnt, otherwise, he wouldn’t have been able to lead the group participating in the work of the Nuclear Organization.

Ruan Wenye explained, "I am the head of the delegation representing the Nuclear Organization."

"——?"

What did that have to do with expressing his opinion on building a collider?

"Old sly fox!"

Zhao Yi cursed in his heart, then turned to the others and sighed, "In this matter, I neither support nor oppose it."

The gazes of the others beca strange.

Yang Zhenning directly criticized him, and his tone wasn’t pleasant, "Young people should take responsibility and not evade. What kind of top-level mathematician are you if you don’t express your opinion and play it slick when you speak and act?"

People in the conference room interpreted Zhao Yi’s statent as ’not wanting to express his opinion.’

Ruan Wenye’s not expressing an opinion was one thing; everyone knew he was a ’slick fox,’ and he also held administrative duties, so he wasn’t considered a pure scholar. It was normal for him not to comnt on such major events.

But if Zhao Yi didn’t express his opinion, it was sowhat unreasonable.

Zhao Yi smiled at Yang Zhenning, then stood up and explained, "When I say I neither oppose nor support, that is my opinion. In my view, this issue should not have caused such conflict in the first place. Whether we support or oppose, we all do it for the sake of science and our nation’s developnt."
