"Yes. I only caught glimpses of them by accident. The Holy Gate of the Heaven and Earth’s dealings are top secret—my brother-in-law never talks about them with anyone. The only reason I know is because I sell information. I used to keep an eye on the Holy Gate of the Heaven and Earth operatives outside the city and happened to recognize one. After observing a few tis, I confird it."

Fearful for his life, Lagan confessed more than what was asked.

"What does he look like? Do you have a picture?" Amalia asked.

Lagan shook his head. "No, I didn’t even dare to look directly at him, let alone take a picture. I only caught a few glimpses from a distance."

Kenny Lin stepped on Lagan’s back, his voice cold. "Where’s the photo?"

Lagan struggled. "I really—"

"Forget it. I think we should just use soul-searching." Kenny Lin spoke to Amalia. "I’ve been working on a new thod—only extracting specific parts of a person’s mory. This is a good chance to test it out."

"It’s here! The photo is here!" Lagan’s hands trembled as he retrieved the image from his terminal.

The Holy Gate of the Heaven and Earth mbers were notoriously difficult to track, making information about them extrely valuable.

Sotis, even the people from the Pleiadian Ascendancy would co to buy intelligence on them.

With such a lucrative opportunity in front of him, of course, he had prepared a backup.

Amalia copied the photo and deleted the original from Lagan’s terminal.

The image showed a man who appeared to be in his thirties, slightly thin, with an unnaturally pale complexion—he looked sickly.

Even though it was only a side profile, his eyes stood out—sinister, snake-like, oozing an eerie nace.

Unlike the tattooed tiger man, his eyes were an unnatural erald green.

"What’s his na? What’s his codena?"

"No one knows his real na. His codena is ’Viper,’" Lagan said while swallowing his saliva hard.

"Do they usually work alone, or in groups?"

"They act alone. The people in the Holy Gate of the Heaven and Earth are all lunatics—arrogant and undisciplined. They hate being controlled. It’s said that they only gather when the Holy Gate of the Heaven and Earth requires them for a major operation. Otherwise, they work individually."

Lagan was desperate to be spared.

"What else?"

Lagan shook his head. "That’s all. I’ve told you everything. Even if you ask more, I really don’t know."

At this point, Amalia was convinced he wasn’t playing tricks.

She was about to signal Kenny Lin to release him when Kenny suddenly asked, "You seem to know quite a bit about the Holy Gate of the Heaven and Earth. What about the Pleiadian Ascendancy? What’s their internal structure? Who are their strongest mbers?"

"This..." Lagan hesitated.

Were these two planning to go after Pleiadian Ascendancy?

That was the royal faction.

If the royal family found out and traced it back to him, he’d be dead.

Kenny Lin saw right through his hesitation and smiled slyly. "Do you think I’d kill you faster, or would Pleiadian Ascendancy, once they find out you leaked their secrets?"

Lagan caved. "Pleiadian Ascendancy has a Grand Elder—the strongest among them. No one knows exactly how powerful he is. The ones who operate publicly are the Third and Seventh Elders. They represent both Pleiadian Ascendancy and the royal family. Beneath them are many direct-line descendants. The Pleiadian Ascendancy and the Holy Gate of the Heaven and Earth have a deep grudge. Years ago, when aliens invaded the Pleiades Star System, the Holy Gate of the Heaven and Earth launched a sneak attack, allegedly killing a direct descendant of the Pleiadian Ascendancy’s Second Elder. Ever since, the Pleiadian Ascendancy has never stopped hunting them down."

"This ti, the nine major star systems are preparing to hold a summit on dealing with the aliens. Word is, the Holy Gate of the Heaven and Earth plans to sabotage the negotiations. The Pleiadian Ascendancy wants to use this opportunity to capture the Holy Gate of the Heaven and Earth mbers. The eting with the aliens is actually secondary—rumor has it that the Crimson Moon Dynasty has already reached a secret agreent with them, and this summit is just for show."

"Such critical information... and they let you know about it?" Kenny Lin’s voice was skeptical, as if catching him in a lie.

Sensing the murderous intent, Lagan quickly explained, "This intel ca from my brother-in-law. I’m not powerful enough to access such high-level secrets myself."

"Your brother-in-law even knows royal family plans? He must have a lot of influence in the Underground City."

"This whole district is under his protection," Lagan said, hoping they’d be impressed.

But he forgot—these two were new to the Underground City.

They had no idea how its power structure worked.

"Being able to control an entire district... It seems your brother-in-law has quite the influence," Amalia mused thoughtfully.

Hearing this, Lagan was overjoyed.

Finally, they understood how powerful his brother-in-law was!

Surely, they would release him now.

Just as this thought crossed his mind, he heard Amalia continue, "In that case, take us to see him now."

Lagan’s face stiffened—this wasn’t what he had expected.

"Is there a problem?" Amalia asked.

Feeling the murderous intent from beside him, Lagan quickly shook his head. "No problem, no problem! I’ll take you there right away."

Lowering his gaze, Lagan’s eyes filled with malice.

If they wanted to seek death, he would gladly help them.

No matter what, he had to avenge today’s humiliation.

He had initially worried that once they left, it would be difficult to track them down.

But these fools—so ignorant of death—actually wanted to et his brother-in-law?

Perfect.

Lagan stood up, stepping over the corpses scattered across the ground.

As he moved past them, he glanced at Darsh, who was slumped against the wall in the corner, his legs mangled and covered in blood.

He gave him a subtle look.

Darsh’s eyes held more than just fear—there was hatred.

He understood Lagan’s signal.
