Chapter 1017: Chapter 586: All Living Creatures Will Be Extinct Chapter 1017: Chapter 586: All Living Creatures Will Be Extinct Gust instinctively clutched at his wallet, but the mont he reached for it, he rembered he didn’t have a wallet and could only smile wryly in resignation.

However, it was not until Kent ascended to the platform that Gust understood why the guard had stopped him—Kent had brought everyone with him.

There were twelve Skeleton Knights alone, along with his priests, the Holy Maiden, and four witches, their presence overwhelming; anyone unaware might think Kent was staging a rebellion.

A rebellion? Gust’s spirit perked up as he shouted back with even greater volu, “You have the nerve to say that? What do you intend to do with so many people? Start a rebellion?!”

“A rebellion? You’re the one plotting a rebellion, how dare you accuse of such a thing?” Kent waved his hand, and the twelve Skeleton Knights imdiately turned and left the Holy Fire Platform.

“Er…” Gust was at a loss for words; Kent had beco so slick all of a sudden. In the past, this wouldn’t have been his style. You accuse him of rebellion, and he sends away the weakest group of Skeleton Knights, effectively blocking your move.

Who didn’t know what those Skeleton Knights were about? A bunch of figures for show, their combat ability was even less than that of the Bone Horses they rode.

Kent’s Skeleton Knights were all human swordsn chosen through competitions—picked for their tall and imposing appearance and decent martial techniques, they were granted Bone Horses to beco Skeleton Knights.

These knights had no Soul Contact with Kent, but their Bone Horses did; they were all Kent’s subjects. If a knight dared to betray Kent, he would be the first to be thrown to the ground by these Bone Horses.

Such Skeleton Knights were not particularly strong in battle, but they were intimidating enough, making them perfect for serving as temple knights. However, to pull the wool over soone as insightful as Gust was just too slick.

It must not have been Kent’s idea; with this thought, Gust’s gaze shifted onto ‘Anxini’.

If Kent were an aloof priest who distanced himself from worldly affairs, with a high rank but limited abilities and superior seniority, then Anxini was the spitting image of an Old God Stick—no, Old Politician Stick suited him better, as it was only among human politicians that Gust got the sense of slipperiness.

However wide Gust’s imagination could stretch, he still couldn’t associate Anthony with the Pope of Light. That required not just imagination but also a bit of wild creativity.

Anthony bowed politely.

Right, that was precisely it. Even though he knew Anthony was up to mischief, he couldn’t find fault with him, not even an excuse to fly off the handle.

After glaring deeply at him, Gust turned to Kent and said, “The new guard didn’t recognize you; I’ve already punished him to go clean the toilets.”

Then, in front of Kent, he directed a Soul Shout towards the guard’s position, “Go clean the toilets—ts—ts—ts—”

The intensity was almost enough to cause an echo.

Anthony slowly straightened his back, feeling a sense of eting his match: The slipperiness of this Lord Speaker was not inferior to his own.

Kent was fuming; clean the toilets? Were there even toilets here? If there were, who would use them? A toilet that nobody used would be clean and tidy, so what kind of punishnt was a simple cleanup?

Was Gust really putting him off with sothing as inconsequential as toilet cleaning? How infuriating! And to think Anxini had even suggested he take this opportunity to turn the tables on Gust. What to do now?

Instinctively, Kent looked towards Anthony.

Anthony stepped forward half a step, ready to speak, but Gust waved his hand, “Step back, it’s not your turn to speak. Kent, if you have sothing to say, speak directly. Don’t push your subordinates forward.”

Anthony retreated, embarrassed.

Gust secretly relished the mont, “What’s the use of being slippery if you don’t let them speak? Let show you what ‘outranked by one level, crushed to death; outranked by three, belittled to the last breath’ ans.”

“Ah! What do you an, Gust? Not allowing my subordinates to speak? You’re being way too overbearing, aren’t you? Are you trying to limit the growth of the temple?!” Kent burst out in anger.

“If you have sothing to say, say it yourself. Aren’t you capable of speaking? What’s the point of letting subordinates talk? If you insist, I’ll just let the subordinates listen. Hey you, go and listen to what this esteed high priest wants to say.” Gust waved his hand, firmly deciding not to let Anthony speak.

Anthony spread his hands innocently, exchanged a glance with that ‘who who who’, and both of them retreated to the side.

“I’m undead, and what if I don’t have a mouth?” Kent was getting anxious. He was only too aware of his own abilities, and speaking for himself was out of the question. He might not only fail to trap Gust, but he could end up being outsmarted instead.

Gust replied, “Well, I’m undead too, and if you don’t have a mouth, I don’t have ears either.”

“Are you being unreasonable? Is this how you plan to limit the developnt of the temple!”

“You’re the one being unreasonable. If you handed the temple over to Anxini, it would have grown a long ti ago. Don’t push the responsibility onto others, it’s not my fault.”

“You’re unreasonable!”

“You’re the unreasonable one!”

Two old undead, who together were around fifteen or sixteen hundred years old, were jumping up and down, squabbling like children.

The surrounding undead lifted their heads to look skyward or greeted each other, while that ‘who who who’ and Anthony shook hands and introduced themselves.

However, after this exchange, everyone realized how extraordinary Kent’s status was; this low-key old priest could actually argue with Gust. If he didn’t have an equivalent standing, Gust would have had him chopped up long ago.

Who is Gust? He is the chair of the Council of the Undead. In the absence of Your Majesty, he is the most powerful being in the Undead Empire.

After the heated argunt, Gust gasped out of irritation, “Alright, alright, if there’s sothing to say, say it quick. I’m very busy here, and if this goes on, I’m leaving.”

“Hmph.” Kent huffed, a bit unwilling to let go, realizing he wouldn’t be able to trap Gust this ti. He then said, “What exactly did you do? Why did you activate the Resting Wind?”

Gust’s soul shook violently, “Resting Wind? That?” As he spoke, he pointed to the still-erupting Breath of Death.

Kent shook his head, “Not that, the wind just now, it nearly gave a headache. Thankfully it wasn’t too strong, or we’d be in big trouble. What gave you the idea to activate it?”

“Wait a second, what’s Resting Wind? I didn’t do anything,” Gust said, baffled.

Kent paused, “Wait, you an to say you don’t know what Resting Wind is?”

Gust looked Kent over suspiciously; how could Kent know sothing he didn’t? Perhaps His Majesty had told him in secret. That couldn’t be, he was His Majesty’s most trusted undead.

But Kent didn’t seem like he was lying, lacking the skill to do so anyway.

Kent’s usual image deceived Gust, who would never have guessed there’s an ability called mory alteration. Under Ange’s suppression, Anthony had easily tampered with Kent’s mory.

Now Kent ‘clearly rembers’ the solemn way His Majesty explained Resting Wind to him: “His Majesty once said that unless the Empire faces extinction, the Resting Wind must never be activated, as it would turn the entire plane into a wasteland, destroying all living things.”
