Chapter 1015: Chapter 584: The Mouth of Misfortune of Lord Nage Chapter 1015: Chapter 584: The Mouth of Misfortune of Lord Nage Anthony’s statent was very clever, although everything was orchestrated by Ange, the difference between ‘summoned’ and ‘created’ was distinct.

‘Summoned’ implied that Ange already possessed the ability to transfer materials on a large scale from the Resting Abyss.

‘Created’ was even more terrifying, indicating that Ange had gained the ability to produce the Resting Wind. They were all too familiar with how terrifying the Resting Wind could be. It had effectively stopped Heaven’s descent.

Apart from the World Tree and the Great Cat, it seed nothing else could withstand the Resting Wind. If it were released, it would result in a catastrophic mass extinction event, potentially even more terrifying than the Undead Calamity.

“Created,” Ange confird.

“Phew—” Anthony heaved a long sigh of relief, and his body finally relaxed, “That scared to death.”

Now it was Negris’s turn to be puzzled. “Isn’t that an exaggeration? Even though the Resting Wind is terrifying, you’ve seen it before. Is it really that scary?”

Negris had just been speaking urgently, out of hastiness, not fear. However, Anthony’s reaction indicated sheer fright, especially intriguing since the Resting Wind even scared this old god-stick.

Anthony grimly smiled, “That’s because you didn’t consider a third possibility. What if this surge of Resting Wind had nothing to do with the Lord but was a defense set by Your Majesty?”

Negris was struck, his expression shifting dramatically.

During their ti in the Resting Abyss, they had speculated that the Resting Wind could have been a defense designed by His Majesty to protect the world’s transit hub. Thus, the Church of Light could only enter the Resting Abyss in small numbers and not en masse.

The more people sent in, the greater the impact of the Resting Wind would be. Moreover, they wouldn’t be able to use the resources of the Abyss for expansion, a kind of scorched-earth policy.

If His Majesty set up the Resting Wind as a defense in the Resting Abyss, wouldn’t there be one here as well?

If the Resting Wind were to blow in this plane too, then the situation would beco dire. Out of the several billion people on this plane, at least 390 million would die, and the rest would gradually starve to death, ending up like the Resting Abyss, with only a few hundred thousand survivors.

This was a disaster that sounded utterly terrifying.

“It’s good, it’s good that it was Ange’s doing. His Majesty is still here, so he probably wouldn’t set up such a defense,” Negris comforted himself.

Anthony disagreed, “Of course there’s nothing to fear if His Majesty is still here, but the real fear is if His Majesty is gone. Suppose the thod to activate the Resting Wind ends up in the hands of soone else, and they suddenly activate it. Then, many more would die.”

Negris’s heart sank because that was a terrifying speculation. Once the Resting Wind started, it would take only one or two years for the entire plane to be left with only the Undead. Even those lucky enough to dodge the wind by taking refuge underground or indoors would not be spared, as the crops could not escape the Wind.

Then, when the crops failed utterly, everyone would starve to death.

Due to the sheer number of people, this plane would end up with several hundred million bodies, which under the influence of the Resting Wind, would turn into native Skeleton Zombies.

Such Undead creatures, unconstrained and actively attacking living beings, would be like the Ashbone Skeletons they had once encountered at the world’s transit hub.

With several hundred million Undead actively assaulting living creatures, no one could survive this tide of rebirth on such a scale. The future here would be even more despairing than the Resting Abyss, no wonder Anthony was so terrified.

“Fortunately, it was Lord Durken who devised it. Let’s hope this world is devoid of the Resting Wind for now. Later, we should find an opportunity to test Gust. If Your Majesty has instigated the Resting Wind, Gust is most likely to be inford. Lord Durken, what is needed to deploy the Resting Wind?” Anthony asked.

Durken shook his head, “I don’t know. I didn’t design the Resting Wind.”

“How is that possible? It wasn’t you who designed it?” Negris was surprised.

The World Transfer Station was designed by Durken, the Resting Camp was designed by Durken, the Multi-dinsional Stacking Technology was his invention, and half of the miracles in the Undead Empire were crafted by Durken.

Given the formidable power of the Resting Wind, how could it not be his creation? Could there be another powerful alchemist assisting His Majesty?

“That shouldn’t be possible. Is there any alchemist in the world who can surpass ?” Durken said, unconvinced.

Negris raised a claw toward the direction of the horizon.

They were already inside the deadline. The position of the Starburst Array should be on the other side of the plane beneath their feet, but pointing directly at their feet was less intuitive, so pointing to the horizon made more sense—it was understood that Negris ant the Starburst Array.

Durken was so furious he wanted to stomp his foot, but after tapping his foot twice, he deflated and said fiercely, “One day, I will build an even more monuntal spectacle.”

An alchemist must speak through his creations. Even though Durken was likely more capable than the magician who constructed the Starburst Array, without a creation of the sa caliber, he lacked confidence in his claims.

“What other spectacle could be more magnificent than the Starburst Array?” Negris couldn’t think of any. “Let it go; back to the matter of His Majesty, if it wasn’t you who designed it, then who created the Resting Wind?”

Durken spread his hands. “Who knows, maybe His Majesty concocted it himself.”

“How could that be? That Old Immortal has the skill for such?” Negris was amazed.

“Are you daft? His Majesty is just lazy, that’s all. Everything I know, he knows too. If he really wanted to, there’s nothing he couldn’t conjure,” Durken said.

Indeed, the Monarch held ideological sway over his subjects. If needed, copying Durken’s mory would pose no issue; whatever Durken knew, the Monarch could possibly know as well.

Yet, this was rely a possibility, similar to soone possessing the blueprints for the Starburst Array but not necessarily being able to create it. However, looking at the Undead Temple and the House of the Deceased, the Undead King was still capable of proficiently utilizing Durken’s knowledge.

“Forget it, I don’t want to think too much about it anymore, as long as the Resting Wind doesn’t begin to blow…” Negris had just said this when suddenly a loud boom emanated from the direction of the Eye of Eternal Silence, spreading a shockwave far and wide as if sothing had exploded there.

Everyone was dumbfounded. The Eye of Eternal Silence was at least a hundred or two hundred kiloters away, yet the shockwave reached them. What had happened?

Before they could figure out what was going on, they saw a black pillar rising skyward from the direction of the Eye of Eternal Silence, like a volcanic eruption shooting straight up ten thousand ters into the sky, its height and diater clearly visible even from a hundred or two hundred kiloters away.

Once it reached a certain height, the ‘pillar’ began to expand and spread out like an umbrella opening slowly and, before long, Ange and the others could sense the increasingly dense presence of death in the air.

Anthony took a sharp breath, “It’s the breath of death, sir, did you touch any prohibitions just now? Or has Lord Nage’s ill-fated mouth spoken true?”
