Upon hearing this, Jas Grant’s pupils slightly dilated.
He couldn’t say anything for a mont, but Keith Donovan was already a bit enraged.
Keith abruptly stood up, staring intently at Evelyn Clayton, "Evelyn, you’re being a bit too much!"
Evelyn Clayton raised an eyebrow, casually retorting, "What’s too much? Is my request that hard to et?"
"You, you’re using Sharon!" Keith’s anger rose, "If you had any maternal instinct, you’d never say such a thing!"
Evelyn chuckled lightly, "Really? Then I guess you disagree. It’s okay, whether you agree or not doesn’t matter to ."
Keith was choked with anger, wanting to say more, but Jas Grant held his arm.
Jas Grant looked at Evelyn with dim eyes, feeling mixed emotions.
He had considered many possibilities, but not this one.
"Can I ask, why are you cooperating with Sumr Monroe?"
Seeing Jas’s gaze, Evelyn and Jas briefly locked eyes before Evelyn looked away.
"No reason, I put forward my terms; if you can comply, I can, as per your request, convince the Sinclair family to let you et with Sharon regularly."
Jas took a deep breath.
The long-standing suffocating feeling in his chest was showing signs of eruption at this mont.
His hand gradually clenched, a hint of self-mockery appearing on his face.
"Evelyn, I asked myself these days, even though I haven’t done well enough, I’ve shown more than enough sincerity."
"I, Jas Grant, have never humbly begged anyone like this. But I never expected to gain anything from you; I just wanted to make so ands..."
"But today, I truly don’t understand why you would use Sharon as a bargaining chip for these demands."
Jasper Grant’s voice grew hoarser, deeply gazing at Evelyn, "I can sign an agreent, I can give you everything you want, but if these co at the cost of using Sharon, I don’t think I can do it. After all, I am Sharon’s father, and I don’t want her to beco the one being used in our relationship."
Evelyn looked quietly at Jas for a long ti, a mocking curve appearing at the corner of her lips.
"Is that so? So it seems you think what I’m doing is despicable?"
Jas averted his gaze, speaking with a bitter tone, "I’ve never thought that. I think you might have so difficulties you can’t tell , but I can’t understand why you would use Sharon—"
"I never intended to use Sharon; these things just happened to coincide," Evelyn said coolly, "If you disagree, I can find soone else."
Jas clenched his jaw, eyes slightly red at the corners, "You clearly know—"
He couldn’t continue, just stared intensely at Evelyn.
"Know what? Know that you desperately want to reunite with Sharon as father and daughter?" Evelyn raised an eyebrow mockingly, "Jas Grant, but for the five years since Sharon’s birth, you’ve been virtually absent from her life. If it weren’t for my belief that I couldn’t hide it from Sharon, nor give her aningless hate, she might only avoid and disdain you now."
"I’ve gone above and beyond, yet you still want to be perfect. May I ask, what reasoning is this?"
Jas’s brows trembled slightly, unable to speak for a long while.
Keith slamd his hand on the table, gritting his teeth, "Evelyn Clayton, this is sophistry! Are you trying to say you’ve been raising Sharon all these years, so you have the right to use her? If you hadn’t kept it from Jas back then, could he have ignored Sharon?"
