Her manuscript is missing!
Originally, her manuscript was in the folder.
But now the folder is intact, yet the manuscript inside is gone.
She imdiately launched a thorough search in the office.
The office wasn’t large, so she finished searching quickly, yet the manuscript seed to have vanished into thin air.
Just at this mont, Quentin Hale arrived.
"Director Clayton, Director Grant asked to pick up your manuscript. In a couple of projects, there’s the Starlight Project presentation, and Director Grant wants to show them the logo you designed first."
Evelyn Clayton looked troubled, "It can’t be done now. My manuscript..."
"Don’t tell it’s not finished?" Amber Whitman suddenly appeared, leaning against the door, raising an eyebrow at Vivian Clayton, "Director Clayton, you bragged so much before, how co the work is taking so long to complete?"
Vivian Clayton furrowed her brows slightly, "I’ve completed it. It’s just that there’s a small issue right now."
"It’s not your first day at work, how can you allow issues to happen on the job. Hand over the drawings first, we’ll talk about other things later."
Saying this, Amber Whitman walked in, sat across from Vivian Clayton, raising her chin arrogantly.
"Could it be that you really haven’t finished? A director like you, after such a long ti, still can’t design a logo, doesn’t seem right, does it? Quentin, I rember the company let go of a director last year because of incompetence. We should be consistent, no special treatnt for Evelyn Clayton, right?"
Stuck between the two, Quentin Hale scratched his head awkwardly, "I have to consult with Director Grant about this matter."
"Jas has always been impartial, but if you go ask him, he must consider my uncle’s face, even if he thinks of letting her go, he can’t say it outright. Aren’t you making things difficult for Jas?" Amber Whitman pressed relentlessly.
"Miss Whitman, this isn’t sothing a secretary like can decide."
"You can issue a dismissal notice first, and then inform Jas later. If sothing goes wrong, I’ll take responsibility."
Amber Whitman was determined to get rid of Evelyn Clayton, this thorn in her side.
Seeing her aggressive deanor, Evelyn Clayton quickly clarified the situation.
The manuscript just went missing, and Amber Whitman imdiately wanted Quentin to fire her.
This matter has to be connected to Amber Whitman.
"Amber Whitman, this is The Grant Group, not the Whitman Family, do you really need to be ordering people around here?" Evelyn Clayton looked at her coldly.
Amber Whitman imdiately countered, "The Whitman Family and the Grant Family are closely connected, so of course, I have the qualification to interfere!"
"Very close? Then why don’t I see you having a position in The Grant Group?" Evelyn Clayton sneered.
"...I just don’t want to!" Amber Whitman clenched her fists.
Of course, she wouldn’t say that she’d long been nagging Jas Grant to arrange a position for her, but her major was in music, which The Grant Group didn’t need.
"Since you’re not part of The Grant Group, just keep quiet!"
Quentin Hale glanced at his watch, realizing there wasn’t enough ti.
"The matter of the manuscript will be dealt with after Director Grant finishes his eting. Director Clayton, please wait here, I’ll go consult with Director Grant first."
"Alright."
Evelyn Clayton remained composed, but her eyes stayed fixed on Amber Whitman.
As soon as Quentin Hale left, Amber Whitman beca even more unrestrained.
She sat across from Evelyn Clayton, proudly fiddling with her manicure.
"Evelyn Clayton, I’ve long warned you, people from small backgrounds shouldn’t dream of riding on the coattails of soone powerful, you’ll suffer a big loss sooner or later!"
But Evelyn Clayton wasn’t angry, instead, she suddenly retorted, "Did you do it?"
"W-What?" Amber Whitman was taken aback, sitting up straight unnaturally, "I didn’t do anything."
That reaction clearly indicated she did everything.
