The familiar feeling grew heavier, Evelyn Clayton frowned slightly.

She gently freed herself from the man’s hand and discreetly reached into her coat pocket to take out her phone.

Just as she was about to turn on the phone’s flashlight, the voice-activated lights in the hallway suddenly illuminated.

Evelyn Clayton saw the man in front of her clearly.

She stood in place, stunned, and locked eyes with his dark and deep gaze, clearly seeing the panic and hesitation within them.

Evelyn Clayton could hardly believe her eyes.

She even wondered if she was dreaming.

Otherwise, how could she encounter Jas Grant in a distant foreign country?

The surrounding air seed to freeze along with them, and they just stared at each other for a long ti until Jas Grant looked away in defeat.

Evelyn Clayton gradually snapped out of her initial shock, regaining her composure.

She concealed the complexities in her eyes and looked coldly at Jas Grant, without speaking.

"I—"

After a long while, Jas Grant attempted to speak.

But he didn’t know what to say.

He had arrived at dawn and checked in upon knowing Evelyn Clayton was there.

Yet like a child coming ho, Jas Grant had no idea how to face Evelyn Clayton.

Originally, he wanted to orchestrate a chance encounter, making their reunion after many years seem less desperate.

But no one had expected this incident.

Jas Grant paused for a very long ti, truly at a loss for words.

All he could say was, "I’m sorry."

Evelyn Clayton still remained silent.

Jas Grant felt that the anguish and pain were as if he were on a gallows, his lips slightly trembling, heart aching indescribably.

"I—I didn’t follow you, I just..."

Jas Grant couldn’t continue further.

He tentatively raised his eyes, only to see Evelyn Clayton quietly looking at him, her eyes devoid of emotion.

No love nor hate, just quietly observing him.

After a long ti, Evelyn Clayton suddenly turned around and exited through the staircase door.

"Evelyn!" Jas Grant’s eyes changed abruptly, he hurriedly followed, "What are you going to do?"

Evelyn Clayton ignored him and continued calling the hotel staff.

When no one answered, Evelyn simply dialed another number.

Shane Sinclair quickly answered.

"Brother," Evelyn Clayton said calmly, "Have you set off yet?"

Shane Sinclair replied in a deep voice, "Just boarded the plane, about to depart."

Evelyn Clayton humd a response, briefly explained her situation, and sought Shane Sinclair’s assistance.

Jas Grant followed closely behind, his throat suffocating severely.

In his haste, he had co alone without any backup, leaving him unable to protect Evelyn Clayton here...

So he could only watch as Evelyn sought help from others—

"Find a safe place to hide; co out after half an hour!"

Shane Sinclair promptly responded to Evelyn Clayton.

Evelyn Clayton remained calm, unwavering as she continued, "Also, I ran into Jas Grant."

Upon hearing Evelyn Clayton call his na, Jas Grant visibly stiffened.

In the next mont, Evelyn turned to look at him, her gaze steady and unperturbed.

"He’s right beside , I don’t know how he found this place. Please send soone to handle the situation later."

Jas Grant’s heart felt as if tightly gripped by a hand, releasing only to remain crumpled and painful.

Watching Evelyn Clayton hang up the phone, Jas Grant finally managed to speak laboriously after a long ti.

"Evelyn, I—"

"Shannon."

Evelyn Clayton suddenly interrupted Jas Grant.

Jas Grant looked at her in confusion, "What?"

Evelyn Clayton stared directly at Jas Grant, her expression indifferent.

"I said, my na is Shannon Sinclair."
