As Lynn Yates had anticipated, within a few minutes, the garden entrance beca lively again.
The arrivals were, naturally, Sumr Monroe and Heather Donovan.
Though their entrance wasn’t as "attention-grabbing" as Jas Grant’s, they still attracted quite a few glances.
Because Harrison Grant personally ca forward to greet them, Sumr and Heather beca even more noticeable.
"...With Sumr coming, our humble place is truly brought to life..."
The cordial greetings with smiles could be heard, and Evelyn Clayton had a faint smile, her expression ambiguous.
She had been wondering why Harrison Grant kept assisting Sumr in drawing blood from her, eager to extract every last bit of value from her, and for what reason.
Earlier, Evelyn had speculated about business-related transactions.
Now it seed, it wasn’t that simple.
If Harrison Grant and Sumr were rely involved in business transactions, mutually benefiting each other, why did Harrison Grant greet Sumr with such polite deanor?
This wasn’t because the occasion today was special.
Harrison Grant’s courtesy towards Sumr seed more like a kind of—fear.
He didn’t seem to have such fear towards Heather Donovan.
Evelyn’s gaze lingered on Sumr’s indifferent smiling face, and she seed to recall sothing as an image montarily flashed in her mind.
That face also carried a nonchalant deanor, commanding authority without anger.
At the corner of the mouth, there was a mole.
Evelyn was startled, rooted in place, unable to gather her thoughts for a long ti.
Why was she thinking of the person she t during her childhood, many years ago?
The person whose face she barely rembered, yet had consistently appeared at the deepest part of her nightmares for decades.
"Evelyn, what are you thinking?"
Next to her, Lynn Yates asked softly with a smile, prompting Evelyn to co back to herself.
She turned around, showing a faint smile: "It’s nothing. Just suddenly rembered sothing, and felt curious."
"We’re partners, why don’t you share it, and I’ll help you analyze it?" Lynn Yates said with a light smile.
Evelyn raised her eyebrows slightly, casting a sidelong glance towards Sumr Monroe’s direction.
"I’m just curious, Director Monroe has always been with Mrs. Donovan... why has there never been any ntion of who Director Monroe’s father is?"
Lynn Yates seed truly surprised by Evelyn’s contemplation and, after thinking for a while, gave an apologetic smile: "That, I don’t really know. My understanding of Director Monroe is not very deep either."
Evelyn smiled, "I was just saying it casually."
They continued to chat casually on this side, while Harrison Grant, having greeted Sumr and Heather, glanced in Evelyn’s direction, seemingly unintentionally.
Then, he looked towards his eldest son.
Shirley Owens was by his side and, noticing Harrison Grant’s expression, she softly cleared her throat and said, "Jas is back, since you’re his father, why don’t you take the initiative to offer him a way out?"
Harrison Grant snorted, "Why, I’m the father, he’s the son! Do I still need to offer him a way out?!"
"What’s this business about offering a way out? There’s no such thing as lasting grudges between father and son. Besides, now that Jas has achieved a lot, not only has he taken over Thorne Holdings, but he’s also suppressed Sumr’s arrogance, and is thriving in business," Shirley Owens spoke gently, "His return today shows that he’s thought things through and wants to co ho, doesn’t it?"
Hearing this, Harrison Grant’s gaze flickered slightly, his expression softened sowhat.
But he still snorted lightly, "He better be! I can’t even bother to scold him for inviting Evelyn! Leaving all the good prospects aside, he constantly holds on to that woman..."
Shirley Owens didn’t respond, she just comfortingly patted his back, "Co on, Jas is right over there."
Under Shirley Owens’ persuasion, Harrison Grant seed reluctantly to head in Jas Grant’s direction.
