Jas Grant saw him approaching and displayed a slight smile.
The smile was calm and almost gentle as he called out, "Dad, it’s been a long ti, how is your health?"
Harrison Grant regained a bit of his composure and responded flatly, "Not bad. So, you finally decided to co back?"
Several nearby guests noticed this sowhat breakthrough between father and son and quickly ca over to smooth things over.
"Oh my, Young Grant is truly a talented and filial son, he must have specially co back for this, right?"
"Yes, yes, Chairman Grant, your two sons are each remarkable in their own way, how lucky you are!"
Amongst these flattering words, Harrison Grant’s expression finally eased a bit, with traces of a smile in his eyes.
Still, when he looked at Jas Grant, his expression remained lukewarm, "Next ti before you co back, let the family know! Coming back like this, aren’t you going to inform the family?"
Harrison Grant seemingly took no offense, chuckling lightly, "If I’d said beforehand, there wouldn’t be any surprises, would there?"
As he spoke, his assistant behind him handed over a gift, "This is the birthday present I chose for you."
Seeing the gift, Harrison Grant’s expression softened even further.
"Hmm, it seems you are thoughtful." Harrison Grant’s lips curled slightly, appearing finally pleased, "I’ve heard you’ve been doing well outside lately, being the CEO of Harvestide Holdings, so you haven’t disgraced the Grant family!"
Jas Grant smiled but said nothing.
At this mont, Harrison Grant’s heart genuinely swelled with pride.
He instinctively glanced towards Sumr Monroe, feeling even more pleased.
So what if Sumr is that person’s daughter?
That person is always cautious and doesn’t manage Sumr much, which is why he indulged Jas Grant in undermining Sumr’s backing back then.
Harrison Grant simply wanted Sumr to be more obedient, not constantly relying on her powerful background to boss everyone around!
"Since you’re back, stay at ho today and let’s have a family al tomorrow." Harrison Grant’s attitude finally softened completely.
In his view, Jas Grant leaving the Grant family before was rely a sort of tantrum.
There had to be an end to it.
However, what Jas Grant said next made those present not even dare to breathe.
He smiled faintly, raised his champagne glass, "No need for dinner, as I’ve got nothing to do with the Grant family anymore, right?"
A flash of shock crossed Harrison Grant’s eyes.
In his mind, his son coming back was to show weakness and admit fault.
How could Jas Grant—
"What do you an?" Harrison Grant’s face turned cold, more frightening than before, "What are you trying to say with this?"
Jas Grant grinned, his eyes indifferent, "Today’s visit is purely to give gifts; I have only one important matter to notify you all."
"What?" Harrison Grant’s eyes gradually turned red, staring at Jas Grant intensely.
anwhile, Shirley Owens was filled with panic and confusion, yet her eyes could not hide a secret excitent.
Jas Grant saw this clearly but paid no attention to Shirley Owens.
"I’m here to notify father that I’m canceling my engagent with Lynn Yates."
This statent was earth-shattering.
A storm was brewing in Harrison Grant’s eyes, his anger turning into laughter, "What did you say?!"
His roar drew the guests’ attention.
Standing furthest away, Evelyn Clayton also couldn’t help but look over—
"The drama begins." Nearby, Lynn Yates suddenly chuckled softly, "Jas Grant is about to go crazy."
Evelyn Clayton also felt sothing was amiss, "What?"
However, Lynn Yates only gave a mysterious smile, "You’ll know soon enough."
