"Jas Grant..."

There were already people whispering around.

"Isn’t this the eldest son who previously announced he was leaving the Grant Family?"

"Yeah, how co he’s here..."

"Blood ties are hard to sever, when it’s the old man’s birthday, of course he’d co back."

These words reached Evelyn Clayton’s ears, and she remained expressionless, her gaze lightly fixed on Jas Grant.

Along with Jas Grant was Lynn Yates.

However, Lynn Yates did not arrive in the sa car with Jas Grant; she entered shortly after. Jas paused his steps for a mont to wait for her, and then the two walked side by side into the venue.

On the stage, Harrison Grant’s expression was truly remarkable.

Indeed, his son either never shows up or chooses to co at the ti when all the guests are most attentive, which sowhat puts Harrison Grant in an awkward spot.

But it was Shirley Owens who reacted the quickest, taking the initiative to step forward.

Like an earnest stepmother eager to please her stepson, as if fearing Jas Grant and Harrison Grant would argue right there, she stepped up with a smile and said, "Jas is back! Your father said yesterday that you definitely wouldn’t co back! But I knew, deep down, you still care about your family!"

Shirley Owens’ "generous" attitude made the guests present even more intrigued.

They say being a stepmother is tough, but isn’t Shirley Owens doing just fine?

"Jas, co on, say hello to your dad." Shirley Owens stepped forward, wanting to grab Jas Grant’s arm, but Jas quickly moved away.

Shirley Owens froze in place, a hint of desolation and embarrassnt appearing on her face.

This expression, in the eyes of others, naturally elicited sympathy for Shirley Owens.

Harrison Grant’s expression wasn’t looking great either.

But given the guests present, Harrison Grant forced a smile as he quickly ended his speech and stepped off the stage.

However, he didn’t speak to Jas Grant, as if intentionally ignoring his eldest son, and proceeded to chat with other guests.

Evelyn Clayton watched, thoughtfully sipping her champagne.

Harrison Grant’s expression didn’t truly indicate unwillingness to deal with Jas Grant.

He was waiting for Jas to co and speak to him first, to break the ice.

Because as the father, he couldn’t possibly initiate reconciliation with his son.

His neglect and indifference, in Harrison Grant’s eyes, were already offering a way out for Jas Grant.

Otherwise, Harrison Grant might not even let him enter the Grant family’s door.

Evelyn Clayton tried to lower her presence and simply watched from afar, to see what Jas Grant would do.

Earlier, Jas Grant ntioned he wanted her at Harrison Grant’s birthday celebration, saying she’d know what he’s up to once she’s there.

Right now, Evelyn Clayton found herself quite curious.

However, despite Evelyn’s intention to remain low-profile, Lynn Yates still spotted her.

Before long, Lynn Yates approached her with a smile.

"Evelyn." Lynn Yates held her champagne glass, and intimately clinked glasses with Evelyn Clayton, looking not like the rumored rivals online, but more like close sisters.

Many around them noticed this, though hesitant to say much, they couldn’t help but curiously observe the two.

Fortunately, both Lynn Yates and Evelyn Clayton were composed individuals; even under so many scrutinizing eyes, they remained perfectly calm.

"I thought you and Director Grant weren’t coming." Evelyn Clayton lightly laughed politely, "Didn’t expect you to be the finale."

Lynn Yates smiled and lowered her voice further, "We’re not the finale; the real finale is yet to co."

Evelyn Clayton raised an eyebrow, "Sumr Monroe?"

Lynn Yates smiled, rather mysteriously.
