In the hospital, Sumr Monroe leaned back against the bed, her delicate face showing the weakness of just waking up, her eyes full of impatience.
It was all because Heather Donovan, sitting by her bedside, kept rambling on.
Since she awoke in the middle of the night, once she was conscious, Heather had not stopped talking.
"Mom, can you give so peace and quiet?" Sumr looked coldly at Heather.
Heather paused, a bit dissatisfied, "What’s with your attitude? I’ve been running around for you the past few days, just so you could wake up! And to top it off, I was threatened and insulted by that old fossil Harrison Grant because of you!"
Sumr’s expression turned slightly cold, "What do you an? What did he do to you?"
"What else could he do?" Heather was furious, "I went to that old geezer to get him to persuade Evelyn Clayton to donate blood. Not only did he refuse, but he also turned around and threatened !"
Sumr knew all too well what kind of person her mother was, and her head instantly throbbed, "What did you say to him?"
Heather pouted, "Harrison Grant didn’t want to assist, so I just... threatened him a bit... about the embezzlent of Atlas Group funds."
Upon hearing this, Sumr was infuriated to the point of laughing.
She knew it!
"Haven’t you completely fallen out with Harrison Grant now?!" Sumr beca agitated, "How am I supposed to handle things from now on?"
Heather gritted her teeth, "Well, who asked him not to look for Evelyn Clayton? In the end, I had to take matters into my own hands! And yet those bodyguards I paid couldn’t get the job done! I told them to grab Evelyn Clayton, but Jas Grant found out!"
Sumr was suspicious, "What? Explain clearly! If she was found, why did Evelyn Clayton still agree to donate blood?"
"Last night, I had soone try to kidnap Evelyn Clayton, but they failed. However, a stranger sent a picture last night."
Saying this, Heather showed the picture to Sumr.
Sumr glanced at it, her eyebrows relaxed, and finally, she raised them slightly, "Is it him? Keith Donovan..."
"Yes, so I simply took this picture to confront Evelyn Clayton." Heather gradually beca smug, "She behaved sensibly too and obediently agreed to donate blood. So, how about it, your mom’s got so skills, right?"
"Not bad." Sumr pursed her dry, pale lips, sneering, "Evelyn Clayton, that bitch, doesn’t listen when spoken to, only submits under force. She should be taught a lesson!"
Heather nodded in agreent, then, a hint of hesitation appeared on her face that had been weary for so long.
She held her daughter’s hand, her voice sowhat hoarse.
"Sumr, there’s one more thing... perhaps we shouldn’t go against Jas Grant anymore?"
Sumr glanced at Heather, sneering, "Do you think even if I stop opposing him, he’ll let go? Not to ntion the past grievances, if Jas Grant finds out that you forced Evelyn Clayton to give blood, he might as well simply devour alive."
Heather’s face darkened slightly, without speaking.
The door of the ward was gently knocked, it was Soren Foster.
Sumr gave him a cold glance, "What is it?"
Soren ca in, noting Sumr’s indifference, his eyes dimd a little.
He rembered his purpose, and said softly, "We just received word over from the company that Jas Grant made a move, he swallowed up shares of one of your subsidiaries, and now, they’re settling it..."
Heather exploded, "What?!"
Soren lowered his gaze, "It happened while Director Monroe was sick, the decision was finalized this morning, and now the largest shareholder of Thorne Holdings has beco Jas Grant."
Thorne Holdings... that was the only company under her na without The Ford Family’s involvent!
After recovering from her initial shock, Sumr was left seething with rage, "Jas Grant..."
A hint of malice erged in her eyes.
Does Jas Grant like Evelyn Clayton that much?
He’s in such a hurry to see her fail?!
No, she must not let Jas Grant succeed...
