Chapter 46

~Xade’s POV~

By the ti the last student left my office, I was already exhausted.

I leaned back in my chair and let out a slow breath, rubbing the bridge of my nose while the door clicked shut behind the kid.

The hallway outside buzzed faintly with the usual academy noise—students moving between classes, lockers slamming, voices overlapping in bursts of laughter or frustration.

My office, however, was finally quiet. For the first ti all day.

Stacks of student reports and behaviour files were scattered across my desk, each one another reminder that about half the teenagers in this academy ca from families that had no business raising children in the first place.

I picked up one file again and skimd through it.

Another disciplinary issue. Another kid with parents too busy fighting over territory, money, or power to actually raise their own child.

I exhaled slowly and dropped the file back onto the desk.

"So of these kids really have ssed-up families," I muttered under my breath.

Running a hand through my hair, I leaned back in my chair again. My thoughts were supposed to stay on academy matters, but they had been drifting all day back to last night.

The Vermillion Bar. More specifically... the VIP room.

My jaw tightened slightly.

That whole situation had been ridiculous.

When Skye Vermillion stepped into that room, I had expected a professional eting. My father had insisted the deal was important, which was the only reason I had agreed to show up in the first place.

Instead, she had walked in wearing that tight black dress and a smile that scread trouble, which she dropped the dress entirely. I could still see the mont clearly.

The zipper sliding down, the fabric slipping from her shoulders, the way she stood there, completely naked like she had just presented a gift.

"What I want is simple, Xade," she had said in that slow, sultry voice.

Her eyes had locked onto mine with deliberate intent. "I want the rumoured bad Playboy with all the BDSM kinks... to fuck undone."

Most n would have taken that invitation without hesitation. Maybe a part of before would have done that and made her regret ever saying those words; she wouldn’t be able to walk for weeks.

But then I hadn’t moved. It wasn’t because the offer itself shocked , but because my interest in that kind of distraction had died the mont Jade entered my life.

At the ti, though, Skye didn’t know that. She only saw a challenge. I had already decided to walk away.

My hand was on the door handle when she grabbed my wrist.

"Don’t be boring," she murmured, stepping closer.

Her fingers slid slowly up my arm. "You started sothing the last ti we t." Her body moved closer, pressing into my space like she expected to lose control. "Finish it."

For a mont, I had simply stared at her.

Then an idea ford. A slow, dangerous smile pulled at the corner of my mouth. "You want to finish it?" I asked calmly.

Her eyes darkened with excitent.

"Yes."

Instead of walking away, I stepped toward her. Close enough that her breath hitched slightly.

Her lips parted, clearly expecting to kiss her.

My hand lifted and she leaned forward on instincts, almost like she ws controlled by her desire or the promise of what I said.

I stopped her. Two fingers pressed lightly beneath her chin, tilting her head back.

"Lie down," I instructed quietly.

Her eyes widened for half a second, before the command hit her wolf instincts. Skye obeyed imdiately.

She moved toward the couch and stretched herself across the dark leather like she was posing for .

"What now?" she asked, voice softer now.

I didn’t sit. Instead, I leaned against the bar counter across the room, crossing my arms loosely while watching her.

"Play with yourself."

Her brows lifted in surprise. Then she laughed. "You’re serious."

"Completely."

That seed to excite her even more.

Skye shifted comfortably against the couch, letting one leg slide open slightly as her hand began trailing slowly down her stomach.

Her fingers brushed over her skin before moving lower.

The room grew quieter as her breathing deepened. She looked at again. "Co here," she murmured, voice filled with heat.

I didn’t move, instead I spoke again. "Close your eyes."

Skye hesitated but in the end, curiosity won. Her eyes shut slowly. "Imagine it’s touching you," I said calmly.

Her lips parted as her hand began moving faster now.

Skye’s breathing grew heavier as she leaned back against the couch, completely focused on the fantasy playing out in her head.

Exactly as planned. While she was distracted, I pushed myself off the counter and walked silently toward the door. Thankfully, she didn’t notice, not even when I reached the handle or turned it.

I watched as her chest rose and fell with heavy, deep breaths she took. But Skye remained so focused on her pleasure and fantasy world that not even when I stepped outside and of the door closed quietly behind , or the lock clicked, did she notice.

Only then did I finally allow myself a small, amused exhale before walking away.

I blinked, the mory fading as my office ca back into focus.

"Phew," I muttered. That little stunt had cost us the deal. My father had not been pleased.

The call afterwards had been... unpleasant.

Dad did not enjoy hearing that a profitable business agreent had collapsed because I walked out of a eting.

His voice had been sharp the mont the call connected.

"Do you realize what you just cost us?"

"I do," I replied calmly.

"That deal mattered."

"She wanted sothing I wasn’t giving."

My father’s irritation was obvious even through the phone.

"You could have handled it better."

"I handled the bigger issue." That sentence had made him pause.

"What bigger issue?"

I leaned back in my chair now, rembering the mont clearly as I reminded him. "We marked Jade."

Silence followed. Then my father spoke again, slower this ti.

"You guys did."

"Yes, and if any of us gets intimate with another woman, the bond backlash will hurt her." My jaw tightened slightly. "And I’m not letting that happen since that’s the only thing Skye Vermillion wanted."

The call ended shortly after that. He hadn’t sounded happy, but he couldn’t argue about the matebond either. And to make matters worse, the victim would have been the Lycan King’s daughter,. Even my dad wasn’t stupid enough to try that.

A knock on my office door broke the silence. I blinked, pulling myself fully out of my thoughts.

"Co in," I called.

The handle turned almost imdiately, opening the door. And the person who stepped inside made my brows rise in surprise.

"Silvie."
