Arella’s eyes, once gentle pools of light, now burned with a bright golden glow Castiel had never seen before. Her lips had been pulled down in a frown, pressed tightly against each other.

Arella exhaled, and with that breath, the fire that surrounded her body coiled upward, forming a massive set of wings made entirely of holy fla. Castiel had never seen anything like this. It was as if, her true power had awoken, one that he was not privy to.

"Ella." He called out her na softly.

Arella turned her gaze to him, and a small smile graced her lips. It felt as if the entire world had gone silent, as if the very air was holding its breath in reverence to her presence.

Her gaze turned toward the enemy forces, and she lifted her hand, fingers curling as golden magic condensed at her palm.

The golden fire erupted outward, and a wave of celestial flas surged over the room, engulfing the invaders in its holy light. Screams tore through the air as the flas licked at their armor, burning everything leaving nothing but ash behind. The golden letters flickered vigorously above them for a few monts, before disappearing.

None of the enemies was spared.

Castiel was shocked, at the power behind Arella’s attack. He could feel the minor injuries he had sustained during the battle slowly disappear into his skin. They stung slightly as they healed, but that did not deter him from taking slow steps to Arella.

Her gaze turned back to him after she heard him move.

"Arella."

"Son of Camael." Arella gave him a smile once more, "Cassie."

"You brat. How dare you get yourself injured to the extent of losing your halo. What will mother and father say."

The sound of heavy footsteps filled the hallway outside. "There are more intruders on their way." One of the demons shouted. The holy fire had also healed their wounds, and they had gotten back into battle position.

"This is not the ti to be chastising , Cassie." Arella raised her hand to lightly tap her temple. "We have a battle to win."

With her small tap, a halo wrapped itself around Arella’s head. It was unlike anything that Castiel had ever seen. It was made of pure holy light that buzzed and humd thanks to her Holy power. The halo itself was made up of two rings that were intertwined over and under each other. The golden and holy glow that the halo emitted blinded even Castiel for a micro second.

He could feel sothing different about her holy power, but he could not place his finger on what exactly it was.

More intruders ca in from the broken wall, and with one last ti at Castiel, Arella shot forward with a single beat of her wings.

Her staff materialized in her grasp. The bottom of the staff had a hidden blade that jutted out as she drove it through the chest of the nearest enemy. Instead of rely piercing through flesh and bone, the divine energy within her travelled down her staff, materializing into fire and causing the intruder to burst into flas.

The battlefield stilled as the new intruders stood in shock at the power that flowed out of Arella. However, Arella did not stop moving, as she pulled out her staff, and imdiately struck the next intruder.

Castiel was in awe as he watched her move with the grace of a seasoned warrior. Of course all angels had at least once in their lives participated in the war between angels and demons. But Arella, being the beloved daughter of their parents, had been placed in the less dangerous places. This ensured that she had the chance to fight well, but was not in general danger.

Castiel, being the one who had taught her how to fight, from the basics to the advanced techniques, did not recognize the angel who fought before him.

To begin with, when did she get a blade fitted into her staff?

Secondly, how was she able to wield her staff as she was doing?

Her movents were reminiscent of water. Her flas coiled around her like sentient serpents, striking those who dared to draw near from her back. She hovered a few inches above the floor, gliding around their intruders and healing the demons who got hurt in the process.

The staff itself glowed with heat, as if it was a historic celestial weapon. Her strikes were precise, not wasting any movent. One mont, she was spinning low, sweeping the legs of two opponents that ca close, and the next she was driving her blade through another intruder’s chest, reducing them to ash before their scream could even leave their throat.

Castiel could only stare. His sister was not only just strong, she was sothing else entirely now. Sothing in her had changed.

Her holy power was not the sa.

Her fighting style was not the sa.

Her holy fire was not the sa.

More enemies surged forward, but they were t with a wall of holy fire so intense that it caused the air to shimr with heat. Arella raised the hand that held her staff, and traced a symbol mid air. A golden rune glowed brilliantly for a second before detonating in a blast of light that threw back a dozen intruders, burning them to ash.

Arella was not done though, just like the intruders continued to co in waves.

She planted the butt of her staff into the ground, and extended both of her arms outward. Her halo spun, the intertwined rings blurring into radiant bands of light. The ground beneath her lit up with runes, and a beam of golden energy shot up from the floor to the ceiling, splitting the air with a hum that sounded like a choir of angels.

The beam of golden energy molded into a do of light that burst outward. Within the radius of that do, every enemy, every intruder with their eerie weapons, was caught in the purity of Arella’s power. They scread, staggered, before dissolving into particles of gold and ash.

Only her allies remained.

And then, the light dimd, and Arella lowered her arms. She swayed slightly, as the aftershock of her holy power passed through her body. Castiel caught her instantly, wrapping an arm around her waist to steady her.

"You did not have to push yourself like that." He murmured, concern dripping from his tone.

"I did. We do not have much ti." Her voice was quiet, a re whisper. "I have... seen things, experienced things Cassie. Right now, my gut is telling that this is just the beginning of sothing more."

Castiel’s figure froze, and his frown deepened. His nod was grim and he did not need to ask what she ant by her words. There was sothing different about his sister. It was not sothing that he was able to place a finger on, but it was clear as day on one like him who had seen her grow up.

Her usual easy and laidback air had shifted, and since she awoke, she had not even let out her usual playful grin.

Sothing was off.

Sothing had happened.

Still, he did not ask. He stretched out his hand, and waited. "What do you need us to do?"

Arella took his outstretched hand without hesitation, gripping her staff tightly with her other hand. Castiel poured a very small amount of his holy power into her, just enough to mitigate the strain from the enormous power she had just used. She stood straighter now. The halo above her now waist length tresses twisted and turned around each other. "I need you all to recover from your wounds." Arella turned her gaze to the demons who had been fighting with her brother.

Arella: (Appears out of nowhere.) There you are Echo. Why the long face?

Echo: (Shocked) Weren’t you sick, derelict and dying. Why are you here?!

Arella: (To her Echo sounds like he is just barking/howling) Aw, you missed too didn’t you. Such a good boy. (Lowers her body and pets him roughly.)

Echo: (Turns to the cara) Do you all see what I have to deal with? I am a proud Shadow Hound, I do not deserve to be treated like this?

Arella: Who wants a treat? Hm?

Echo: (Turns away from the cara) ! ! !
