Chapter 1040: Chapter 1038: The Most Lethal Mind Gas

“Hmm? What misunderstanding?” Tin Wood looked at the Witch Demon Elder and asked.

“Look, you weren’t brought here by , and since you arrived here, we haven’t had much interaction, so there’s not much animosity between us,” the Witch Demon Elder analyzed seriously. “In other words, you’re not my enemy, and I’m not yours. Since we aren’t enemies, why should we fight or obstruct each other? You want to leave this Eden, right? Well, go ahead, I won’t stop you.”

“Are you sure?” Tin Wood asked, his gaze filled with suspicion, “If you really don’t want to stop , then why did you just command your skull minions to attack ?”

“Ah, that—” the Witch Demon Elder drew out his words, turning his eyes and putting on a serious expression, “actually, that’s quite normal. Although I don’t want to stop you, but as soone living here, seeing you run out, I must fulfill so obligation, right? Using magic puppets to stop you was my obligation. Now that you’ve destroyed all the magic puppets, my obligation is fulfilled, and I can account for ‘the kid who brought you here.’ This way, there’s no need or reason to fight to the death with you; letting you go is the right choice.”

“Is it really like that?” Tin Wood was still doubtful.

“Of course it’s true,” the Witch Demon Elder said with infectious conviction. “In a certain sense, I’m also brought here by that kid; we are in the sa camp. If I weren’t too old and unwilling to take risks, I’d want to go with you. Alright, no more nonsense, take advantage of the fact that the kid hasn’t returned yet, and go quickly, or it might be too late. By the way, the exit is over there.”

As he spoke, the Witch Demon Elder pointed into the distance.

Tin Wood froze, giving the Witch Demon Elder a deep look, not quite grasping whether the Witch Demon Elder was speaking the truth or lies, and walked slowly in the direction pointed by the Witch Demon Elder with a frown.

Watching Tin Wood’s back, the Witch Demon Elder breathed a sigh of relief internally, relieved to have averted an inevitable losing battle. As long as Tin Wood left Eden, he would be safe. Next, he could consider going to find Pandora, and together the two could chase after Tin Wood to capture him back and then “claim credit” in front of Richard, showing Richard how powerful he was. Of course, he could also act as if nothing happened, return to his recliner for a nap to avoid living in fear again after Tin Wood was captured back.

While the Witch Demon Elder was thinking, Tin Wood kept walking away.

One step, two steps, three steps…

“Pop!”

Suddenly, Tin Wood stopped, abruptly turning his head to look at the Witch Demon Elder, his expression filled with vigilance, “You won’t take advantage of my departure to ambush , right? You are indeed weak, your strength isn’t enough to overco , but an ambush, if successful, could still be deadly.”

I’m willing to let you go, can you stop with all this useless chatter… The Witch Demon Elder’s face darkened, and he said with a calm face, “Just go, I have no reason to ambush!”

“Maybe.” Tin Wood responded noncommittally, cautiously turning his head back and continuing to head toward the exit.

Four steps, five steps, six steps…

“Ha—choo!”

As Tin Wood went further and further away, the Witch Demon Elder believed the result was confird, relaxed his body, and couldn’t help but yawn. He slowly raised his hand to cover his mouth, feeling a deep sense of fatigue welling up.

Previously, he worked for too long and was really exhausted, and in his heart he leaned toward an easier choice: perhaps it’s best to let Tin Wood go and act as if nothing had happened. This way, there would be no need to cooperate with Pandora and Tin Wood in a fight—winning would be fine, but losing could lead to a miserable outco.

However, just as the Witch Demon Elder’s hand was raised to cover his mouth, the highly alert Tin Wood seed to be stimulated again, stopped once more, and abruptly turned his head.

“What are you doing?!” Tin Wood loudly questioned.

“What do you say I’m doing!” the Witch Demon Elder replied with slight impatience, “Just yawning.”

“Are you sure you’re not using this action to cover your movents for an ambush?” Tin Wood’s suspicion deepened.

“You’re overthinking it!” the Witch Demon Elder frowned, “I already said I’m letting you go, you can just leave, can you not be so wordy? Otherwise, once Richard cos back, you won’t be able to leave even if you want to.”

“Ha, that’s your real purpose, isn’t it!” Tin Wood’s eyes suddenly shone, as if discovering so deeply hidden truth.

The Witch Demon Elder was taken aback, looking at Tin Wood and asked, “My real purpose, what is it?”

“You’re pretending to let go just to make suspicious, thereby raising my alertness, delaying my departure so the kid can return and capture ,” Tin Wood said seriously, his words striking with certainty.

The Witch Demon Elder looked at Tin Wood, his eyes widening slightly in shock.

“You’re crazy, all of this is just your overthinking, alright? I didn’t an that at all,” the Witch Demon Elder said with a trace of irritation.

“In fact, you’re now using the thod of refuting to continue delaying,” Tin Wood said with increasing confidence.

“I—” The Witch Demon Elder was sowhat at a loss for words, looking at Tin Wood with a gaze that seed to say “you’re a fool,” and knocked on his skull, asking, “Has this place gone wrong because you’ve been locked up too long?”

“Hmph!” Tin Wood scoffed disdainfully, “Stupid Witch Demon, don’t judge with your shallow perspective. I am a much nobler High-level Life, my wisdom is engraved in my soul, so I don’t need useless human brains.”

“Okay, okay.” The Witch Demon Elder displayed a “scared of you” expression, his eyes carrying a hint of disdain, quickly waving his hand and saying, “You are a High-level Life, you have no brain, you’re the smartest. Now can you quickly leave, I still want to take a nap.”

“Of course I want to leave,” Tin Wood said solemnly, “but the problem is, you’re using ridiculous tricks to keep delaying , preventing from leaving. I think once I expose you, there’s a high possibility you’ll directly attack .

I’m even beginning to suspect this is all a huge sche. The reason is valid: that kid warned every ti before he left, but this ti there’s no warning at all, seeming intentional. Your attitude is also too weak, not fitting that kid’s lapdog identity at all. Maybe, that kid is just waiting for outside the exit. As soon as I go out, you and that kid can attack from both sides, right?”

The Witch Demon Elder stared at Tin Wood with wide eyes, pointing a trembling finger out of sheer shock.

At this mont, the Witch Demon Elder felt a bit ntally broken, believing that Tin Wood before him was completely unreasonable, and couldn’t help but shout, “Are you just a big fool?!”
