"I didn’t force you. I rely said that if you can’t fall in love with , the agreent will be void." Huo Yanting was clearly making things difficult for her.
Lin Banxia faced this stubborn and domineering man, unable to reason with him no matter how right she was.
Or perhaps, Huo Yanting wasn’t interested in discussing logic with her at all; he simply acted according to his whims.
As for her feelings, how could they possibly be sothing he cared about?
"Alright, I’ll try..." Lin Banxia couldn’t bring herself to say the word "love," her mood unbearably heavy.
Huo Yanting looked at her dejected appearance. Forcing her didn’t seem to bring him any joy—in fact, it made him feel unbearably restless.
"Alright, tell , why did you co to see ?" Huo Yanting didn’t want to continue this topic; it felt as though he were forcing innocence into compromise.
It was only then that Lin Banxia rembered the purpose of her visit.
Her petite face turned pale without warning. After the unpleasant conversation just now, did she still have the nerve to bring up borrowing money?
It seed she would have to plead with Cheng Rouyin once more, or perhaps she could go to her father and ask him for help this one ti.
"Nothing much. Didn’t you ask to co here to introduce to a job?" Lin Banxia shook her head and spoke softly.
Only then did Huo Yanting raise his eyebrows and look at her again. "What’s your major?"
"Interior design!"
"But I want you to be my personal assistant. Are you willing?" Huo Yanting suddenly developed a selfish desire, an inexplicable urge not to send her far away for work.
Lin Banxia was stunned again. She raised her eyes to et his gaze, her look filled with pleading. "But I don’t know anything about being an assistant. I’m afraid I won’t do well. Why don’t you give a job related to my field of study? I promise to work really hard."
"I want you to stay by my side!" Huo Yanting requested plainly.
Lin Banxia: "..."
What exactly was this man up to?
"If you’re not working by my side, I won’t feel at ease. I’m afraid certain people might cause trouble for you," Huo Yanting added as an explanation.
Lin Banxia was still trying to discern his intentions. Upon hearing his words, she suddenly felt a little defeated.
"Huo Qinglin also works at the company. No matter which of our subsidiaries you work at, he could still cause trouble for you professionally. Are you sure sheer effort will prevent him from harming you?"
Huo Yanting’s words almost seed reasonable.
With her small mouth slightly agape, Lin Banxia found herself unable to refute.
"I’m not omnipotent. If you don’t stay by my side, I fear I won’t be able to save you every ti," Huo Yanting said with apparent goodwill.
It sounded like he truly cared about her.
"You make a valid point. Alright, I’ll be your personal assistant. Even if I don’t understand sothing, I’m willing to learn. I just don’t want to stay cooped up at ho doing nothing, freeloading, and becoming disconnected from society." The thought made Lin Banxia anxious—perhaps because in a previous life, that was exactly how she had spent three years of her married life.
That feeling of being kept at ho by a man was truly awful.
When she finally mustered the desire to face the world again, her courage seed completely drained.
"Don’t worry. Stay by my side, and I guarantee every day will be exciting and fun," Huo Yanting said with a satisfied smirk, his thin lips curving upward in a devilish and alluring smile.
Lin Banxia looked up at him, her gaze eting his enigmatic eyes. She couldn’t shake the feeling she had been tricked.
Because she still needed to retrieve her mother’s belongings from Cheng Rouyin, Lin Banxia didn’t stay for the afternoon, and Huo Yanting didn’t insist on keeping her.
Lin Banxia returned to the Lin Family once again. When Cheng Rouyin saw her, a cold smile appeared on her face.
"Did you bring the money?" Cheng Rouyin assud that Lin Banxia had co back so soon because she had brought the money with her.
